Chapter 1087: Fine mesh and gauze, shrouded in smoke, pleasing to the eye
Kangxi light green porcelain cups and saucers, set of two.
The cups and saucers are small and elegant. As long as you work hard, they can be made quickly and with good results.
Soon, Chen Wenzhe made ten sets of cups and saucers, and these twenty pieces of porcelain were also a large set.
These types of utensils are relatively simple, so Chen Wenzhe generally goes from simple to complex.
It's the same this time, starting with the dishes.
Now that I have made bowls, cups and saucers, I am still making plates.
This time, the craftsmanship requirements for the plates made by Chen Wenzhe have to be upgraded again.
The cone-arched eight-treasure green glazed plate of the Yongzheng period is more suitable.
This cone-arched eight-treasure green glaze dish has an open mouth, shallow walls, and exposed feet.
The carcass is thicker.
Both the inside and outside of the porcelain are glazed with green glaze. The inside of the plate is plain without any decoration. The outer wall of the plate is darkly engraved with conical arches and patterns of entwining flowers and eight treasures.
The Buddhist dharma objects such as the treasure wheel, conch, umbrella, white cover, lotus, treasure pot, goldfish, pan intestines, etc. are perfectly displayed on the outer wall in the shape of wrapped branches and flowers, making it graceful, luxurious, dignified and beautiful;
The bottom of the plate is made of white glaze, with a double circle of blue and white in the center, and the inner regular script "Yongzheng Year System of the Qing Dynasty" with 6 characters and 2 lines.
The green glaze vessels of the Yongzheng period were often engraved and printed with floral patterns, such as lotuses, eight treasures, wishful clouds, etc.
This green glaze plate is a typical Yongzheng green glaze vessel.
The technical requirements for this piece are mainly glazing and carving. For Chen Wenzhe, no matter how complicated the pattern is, he can carve it very quickly.
However, he only made three pieces this time. After all, he adjusted all the glaze formulas that needed to be adjusted before.
When it was done, Chen Wenzhe did not continue.
But after finishing other work,
Go out to eat directly.
After eating, he did not go back to the studio, but went back to his dormitory to rest.
By making green glazed porcelain today, he also discovered some of his own shortcomings.
His understanding of the color glazes of past dynasties is still incomplete.
For example, red glaze, yellow glaze, green glaze, each of which can produce more than a dozen different glaze colors, deep and light. Chen Wenzhe made these by himself, but he will definitely not be able to make them all now.
Since Wu Sandu has sent a large number of broken porcelain pieces, and his Sui Marquis Pearl has become more powerful, why not have a comprehensive understanding?
If the inheritance he received was complete enough, he would not have to explore various single-color glaze formulas in the future.
If something can really be gained, the harvest this time will definitely not be comparable to Yongzheng's twelve-color glazed porcelain.
Therefore, this time I just fired some malachite green glazed dishes and dishes experimentally, and Chen Wenzhe ended the work.
Of course, he also made some other porcelain during this period, but those had completed a process before, or had been fired in the kiln several times.
Like the enamel I made before,
Entering the kiln five times,
It takes at least three to five days to complete the firing of a kiln of porcelain.
Go back to dorms,
Did nothing,
Chen Wenzhe fell directly into retrospection.
In this way, Chen Wenzhe was studying, making, and doing some research at the same time.
He kept doing it, learning to do it, until he felt that he had studied and understood the most commonly used glaze colors.
On this day, he came to the studio again. He first looked at the porcelain that had come out of the kiln before. He felt that it was okay, so he continued to make green glazed porcelain.
It’s still malachite green, but the malachite green glaze porcelain produced now is certainly not simple.
There are certainly difficult classic malachite green glaze porcelains, and some are more special.
One of the more special items that Chen Wenzhe knew was bronze-like porcelain.
For example, the Qianlong imitation bronze-shaped peacock green glazed convex flat tripod
Porcelain, this type of vessel was more popular during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.
The peacock green glazed convex triangular tripod is square in shape. There are vertical ears on the left and right sides of the mouth, and the waist is tied under the edge;
The four corners of the square belly are in the form of ridged edges, the bottom of the tripod is flat, and the four corners have elephant heads and four legs;
The four sides of the abdomen are in the shape of a square frame, with two embossed patterns on each side of the body, and two embossed patterns on the sides of the body.
The porcelain is glazed with malachite green glaze both inside and outside. The glaze surface is covered with irregular tiny flakes, and the glaze is extremely shiny;
The glaze juice condenses in the low recesses, forming a dark glaze, which results in rich layers of glaze color on the surface of the vessel;
It is worth mentioning that for this special type of porcelain, the bottoms of the four legs need to be exposed.
It is not easy to imitate such porcelain, let alone do it well.
The shape is complex and it takes a lot of time to make one piece. If someone else imitates it, it’s hard to say what the final glaze color will look like.
But Chen Wenzhe doesn't have such troubles. He has been able to master the color effect of malachite green glaze.
Otherwise, he really didn't want to try firing such a complex malachite green glazed porcelain.
Also, after the peacock green tripod is completed, it needs to be equipped with a square rosewood top cover, the cover surface is carved with Ruyi cloud head pattern, and the top cover is made of white jade carved bird pattern buttons.
The original jade is made of Hetian white jade, which shows how precious this porcelain is.
For this reason, Chen Wenzhe only made one piece of this porcelain square tripod. After all, he still needed a cover.
After finishing it, I didn’t want to continue making such complicated things, but I also didn’t want to make too simple porcelain.
So, Chen Wenzhe thought for a while and made another small bottle.
This time it is not a malachite green glazed jade pot and spring vase, but an imitation clear malachite green small celestial sphere vase.
This kind of bottle
It has a straight mouth, a long and slender neck, a round belly, an exposed bottom, and short round feet.
Compared with the Yu Hu Chun Ping, its belly is larger. If the shape of the vessel was not a bit smaller, it would not be any difficult to make.
This small celestial sphere bottle is covered with malachite green glaze both inside and outside. The mouth is slightly lighter in color, the lower part of the abdomen is darker in color, and the glaze hangs near the feet;
The glaze surface is covered with obvious caviar patterns, forming beautiful geometric patterns in the green glaze. The fine mesh and gauze, shrouded in smoke, are pleasing to the eye.
Therefore, despite its small size, it is really difficult to make.
The difficulty lies not in the shape of the vessel, but in the final effect of the glaze.
If you don't have some ability and confidence, you really wouldn't dare to imitate this kind of quality product.
Let’s just say that the hazy effect of smoke cannot be imitated by ordinary people.
It is like a fine mesh and gauze, and creates the special effect of being shrouded in smoke. How is it fired? Is it just a matter of luck?
Therefore, as long as this kind of porcelain is imitated, it will be a success and it will definitely be a high-quality product.
Chen Wenzhe has great experience in porcelain with special effects, especially porcelain that can be used to make a fuss on the glaze.
The color effect of the glaze is just the result of light and shadow, vitrified refraction and reflection. It is not difficult for Chen Wenzhe, who is proficient in illusion carving technology, to make these.
Of course, the illusion carving technique is definitely not used here, but the geometric patterns formed in the green glaze can be used, and the vitrified effect of the glaze can be used.
As long as it has a vitrified texture, its reflective effect will be good, and the glaze will look like jade and its luster will be more beautiful.
Coupled with geometric patterns, you can accurately reflect natural light and create the effect you want.
This creates the effect of a shroud of smoke, like a fine mesh and gauze.
