Chapter 1100: interlaced, interlaced, primary color, compound color, combined color

The characteristics of Tang Sancai can be summarized into three aspects, namely shape, glaze color and texture.

Of course, the place of origin is also one of the influencing factors.

The first is the shape. In terms of shape, its shape is different from that of ordinary handicrafts, and it is also different from horses unearthed in other eras.

The shapes of Tang Sancai are rich and colorful, and can generally be divided into four categories: daily utensils, models, figures, and animals.

Most of them are animals, which may be related to the historical background at that time.

In ancient my country, horses were one of the important means of transportation for people.

Horses are needed on the battlefield, farmers need horses for plowing, and horses are needed for transportation, so there are more horses unearthed in Tang Sancai.

The horses in the tricolor paintings of the Tang Dynasty are relatively plump. This breed of horse is said to have been brought as tribute from the Western Regions at that time.

So the shape of the horse is a little different from what we see.

Generally, horses have fatter hips and wider necks.

This is the characteristic of the Tang horse's shape. It is mainly quiet, but it is driven by stillness.

Generally, at a quick glance, you will see that this is a horse standing still, but through the depiction of the horse's eyes, the horse's eyes are carved into triangles and the eyes are wide open.

Then, the horse's ears are close together, as if it is listening quietly or hearing something moving.

Through such detailed characterization, the inner spirit and inner rhythm of the Tang horse are displayed, and the superb craftsmanship of the craftsmen is also evident.

In addition to horses, there are also more camels.

This may be related to Sino-foreign trade at that time. Camels were one of the means of transportation for long distances, and camels were needed as means of transportation along the Silk Road.

Therefore, craftsmen reflect it in handicrafts.

Most of the characters are palace maids, which reflects the palace life at that time.

A Tang Sancai work, that is, shape, glaze color and texture.

After the shape is done, the next step is the glaze color, which is another characteristic of Tang Sancai.

It was the first time in the Tang Dynasty that three glaze colors of yellow, green and white were used simultaneously on a single utensil.

However, the craftsmen cleverly used the glazing method to interlace the three colors of yellow, green and white.

Then after firing at high temperature, the glaze color melts and flows, forming a unique flowing process.

After coming out of the kiln, the tricolor has changed into many colors.

It has primary colors, compound colors, and combined colors. What people can see is a variety of mottled colors. This is the characteristic of Tang Sancai glaze color.

The three-color tricolor objects of the Tang Dynasty are round and full in shape, which is consistent with the plump, healthy and broad characteristics of Tang Dynasty art.

The proportions of the three-color figures and animals are moderate, the shapes are natural, the lines are smooth, and they are lively.

Among the figurines, the warriors are muscular, with angry eyes and swords drawn;

The female figurines have high buns and wide sleeves. They are slim, elegant, and very plump.

Finally, there is the fetus. The fetus of Tang Sancai is white with light red and light yellow.

The fetal soil is fine, solid, and contains mineral impurities.

Since most of the artifacts were unearthed from tombs and have been used for thousands of years, the exposed parts of the artifacts are weathered;

Most of the imitations are made of porcelain or gypsum, which are white, delicate and without weathering.

There are few impurities, the sound is loud when knocked, and the hand feels heavier.

To imitate Tang Sancai, for Chen Wenzhe, the easiest thing to make is Tang horses, camels, or even human figurines.

Other Tang Sancai with strange shapes are troublesome for Chen Wenzhe to make.

But among the most classic Tang Sancai, it is the one mentioned by Chen Wenzhe before.

Camels, horses and human figurines are the simplest. He only needs to use clay sculpture techniques, pinching or carving.

Of course, if you carve a suitable mold, it will be easier to make.

He is a professional when it comes to sculpture. Even if he simply uses processed clay to knead it, he can get what he wants quickly.

Of course, to make a piece of Tang Sancai, not only one technique is used, but more than two methods are often used.

Generally, detailed conceptual design is first carried out, and then special sculpture tools are used to create sculptures with clay. After repeated modifications, the sculpture is finally formed.

Nowadays, there is a lot of preparation work required to make Tang Sancai.

Of course, first of all, Chen Wenzhe must draw some design drawings. After all, he still needs to seriously consider the style of the Tang Dynasty.

The aesthetics of the Tang Dynasty was really different from other dynasties.

For example, he knew a famous painting and calligraphy work, which was a picture of a horse. The horse on it was extremely round, and now it looks like it has no tail.

It is such a painting that is still highly sought after by people today. This is the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

Therefore, it is still not easy to imitate Tang Sancai without some skills and knowledge.

Because Tang Sancai was created by craftsmen of the Tang Dynasty during a specific historical period.

It is inseparable from the social customs, living environment, aesthetic consciousness, production materials and craftsmanship level at that time.

Therefore, both characters and animals can show vivid and lifelike expressions, with a rich flavor of life.

Judging from the unearthed tricolor paintings of the Tang Dynasty, the level of sculpture by the craftsmen of the Tang Dynasty was very high and their skills were skillful.

The figures and animals are well proportioned and vivid.

The faces, facial features, expressions, postures, and gestures of the characters change in a consistent manner, and the various animals are either static or moving, full of energy, and natural and expressive forms.

The production of imitations is based on the original product, pictures, innovation on the prototype, and fabrication.

Some of the current imitations are similar to the originals, although the makers have put a lot of effort into their styling.

However, due to the lack of skills of the sculptor and the different living environment between the maker and the craftsmen of the Tang Dynasty, the products produced could only be similar in form but not in spirit. The shapes were often stiff and lacked change.

For example, the proportions of the figurines produced are often uncoordinated, the faces are dull, the lines are stiff, and some lines are too regular.

The base of the three-color round utensils of the Tang Dynasty is generally in the shape of a "flying edge", and a knife is trimmed outside the edge.

This is most common on bowls, plates, bottles, pots, bowls and other utensils, and imitations often lack this process.

If these cannot be thoroughly studied, no matter how many imitation works are produced, they will be useless.

Therefore, preliminary preparation work is very important, including some design drawings that conform to the characteristics of the times, suitable raw materials, necessary tools, etc.

The most difficult thing among them is the tools, but Li Jinli also bought this when he bought the appropriate kaolin clay.

At that time, he was buying high-quality kaolin clay in China, but because he was not professional enough, he bought some well-known mineral materials that were not suitable for making ceramics.

The well-known minerals are all suitable as raw materials for a certain type of porcelain or pottery, but not for everything.

For example, the mineral materials for Ru kiln porcelain are most suitable in Ruzhou, while the raw materials for making Dehua white porcelain must be the most suitable materials from the country of origin.

The same is true for Tang Sancai. The most famous production area of Tang Sancai in China is Yangluo.
