Chapter 1,229: Only one thing in life

Porcelain appraisal is a university subject. If you want to be a qualified appraiser, you must be well-informed.

If you have more experience and have seen various kinds of porcelain, you can see the differences with a little comparison.

Only in this way can we have some ability to identify various aged porcelains on the market.

They only have some identification skills, so really good appraisers are rare, because compared to learning to make old things, learning to appraise requires too much knowledge.

Sometimes it's hard to be old, but sometimes it's easy.

Some typical features on porcelain can sometimes be easily aged.

For example, "Iron Wire" is very easy to make.

Using the ink immersion method, the glaze is dipped in ink and allowed to enter the gaps in the slices, and then the ink on the surface is cleaned with water to easily produce the "iron wire" effect.

If you want to identify an artifact made with this technique, an experienced appraiser should be able to see it.

Just visual inspection is enough, because the color of the "iron wire" made by the ink dip method is monotonous and lacks changes. There is a certain difference from the ancient authentic "iron wire" and it is easy to identify.

However, this also has a prerequisite. You need to know what real iron wire looks like in order to see such a simple old-fashioned method.

As the saying goes, if the Tao is as high as one foot, the devil will be as high as one foot!

It is not easy to identify, but sometimes it is really easy to make it old.

Or talking about the treatment of iron wires, if you want to go further, you need the potassium permanganate dip dyeing method.

This is to first soak the utensils in a mixed solution of potassium permanganate and brown sugar.

After soaking for several days, if you take it out, yellow-brown dirt will form on the surface of the utensil.

If there are cracks on the glaze, the gaps will show a yellow-brown "golden wire" effect.

However, potassium permanganate residues often exist in the bubbles and cracks on the glaze of utensils that are less than one year old.

Dip a little water into your finger and touch it, and your finger will be dyed purple-brown.

There are many distressing techniques of this level, and Chen Wenzhe knows several of them.

For example, the asphalt solution distressing method, this distressing technique is to first dissolve the asphalt in gasoline.

Then apply the asphalt solution on the surface of the object. After the gasoline evaporates, use detergent such as detergent to remove the excess asphalt.

This method is mostly used to imitate the old appearance of handed down products. You can use a cotton swab dipped in 120# solvent gasoline to smear the stain. If the stain is dissolved immediately, it means the asphalt solution is used to make it look old.

The "old look" produced by using asphalt solution has a single color, lacks layering, and sometimes has traces of brushing.

Chen Wenzhe stopped writing. In recent times, he could say that he had thoroughly studied Yuan Qinghua.

From materials to processes, from copying to distressing, he will study the problems that arise in every step, find out the problems, and solve them.

By this time, he had been able to confirm that it would be no problem to burn Yuan Qinghua again.

Even with the raw materials, he has a certain degree of confidence that they can be completely retro.

However, he still needs to do a lot of experiments if he wants to truly make the perfect Yuan Qinghua.

However, he didn't want to waste too much time. After all, he knew that there were many masters in the country who had done the same thing, conducted the same research, and walked the same path.

Since his predecessors have helped him clear the way, and he also has a profound foundation, he can now compare it with the experience of his predecessors to see if his idea is correct.

If it's not right, change the research direction. If it's too much, it means the hero has the same ideas, which can save him a lot of time.

Therefore, Chen Wenzhe, who already felt that he was almost done with his research, started cheating without hesitation.

And he just did a little search and found that the old-timers in the country were doing much better than he imagined.

It was only at this time that Chen Wenzhe admired the domestic pioneers even more.

They are really powerful, such as Huang Lao, "the number one person in Chinese antique porcelain".

If we use discontinuous words to describe him, it would be to carry the Tao with porcelain, a leader in the porcelain world, and the founder of the Imperial Kiln!

Only one thing in life!

Everything follows ancient methods!

Seek perfection in everything!

Keep improving everything!

Everything is in mind!

He is not only a famous artist who studies ancient ceramics in my country, but also a craftsman who is familiar with the ceramic firing process.

The works made by Mr. Wang are often more valuable than many ancient porcelains and are known as "new contemporary cultural relics".

In 1997, one of his "imitation Ming Yongle blue and white seawater dragon pattern flat bottles" was auctioned at the neon auction as an authentic Ming Yongle product.

Several top ceramic experts conducted appraisals but found no flaws;

Later, it alarmed the neon political circles, and gathered the power of ceramic appraisal experts from all over the country to identify it as his imitation.

In 2005, at the Chinese Ceramics Auction held at Christie's in England, the Yuan blue and white "Ghost Valley Descending Mountain Jar" sold for 15.688 million pounds, about 230 million yuan, setting a record for the highest auction of Chinese art in the world at that time.

.

At the auction preview, Mr. Huang carefully handled the jar and carefully observed every detail, and was deeply affected by the charm of Chinese ceramic art.

In order to allow more people to appreciate the beauty of Yuan blue and white flowers, he then began the arduous process of replicating the artwork.

In order to imitate this porcelain jar, he spent a lot of time conducting detailed surveys and raw material sampling analysis on the ancient kiln sites and ancient raw material mines in JDZ based on the characteristics of "local materials" in ancient porcelain production in the past.

After that, he personally prepared the clay, glaze, and blue and white materials, and worked day and night on research and trial production.

In the end, he mastered the formulas of mud, glaze, and materials for antique porcelain from past dynasties, so the ancient porcelain he copied from Jingzhen dynasties can reach a level that is almost lifelike.

Later, under the supervision of Zhang Pusheng, a famous ceramics expert from Jinling Museum, the "Gui Valley Down the Mountain Jar" was finally imitated.

Chen Wenzhe chose to imitate this famous product because he knew that there were masters in China who were imitating it at a very high level.

So how high is it? In 2013, the results were found in the "World Yuan Blue and White Exhibition" held at the Maritime Museum.

This actual "Yuan blue and white ghost valley descending the mountain", which was sold for 230 million yuan, and the "imitation Yuan blue and white ghost valley descending the mountain" recreated by Master Huang Yunpeng, traveled through more than seven centuries and were invited to compete on the same stage.

If it is an imitation made by ordinary people, how can it be compared with the real thing?

However, this imitation has appeared, and it has attracted praise from many industry leaders.

At the exhibition site, the owner of this cultural relic, the world-famous antique dealer "Eskenazi", and the recreater of this "sky-high-priced Yuan blue and white", Master Huang Yunpeng, had a historic handshake, which became the world's ceramic industry

A wonderful story!

Over the past two decades, as Mr. Huang's influence has continued to expand at home and abroad, collectors at home and abroad have come here in droves, causing the value of his works to continue to increase.

And this is a living master. His works can continue to appreciate in value, even surpassing some ordinary antiques, absolutely because of his own strength.
