Chapter 1,243 Everything is a fine product

Among the treasures passed down from generation to generation is a double-gourd-pattern vase, which was bought by William Alexander, a famous British collector, for 10 pounds on May 23, 1900.

This Yuan blue and white double-gourd vase was sold at an auction in 2005 for 3.345 million pounds.

At that time, converted into RMB, the price exceeded 30 million!

Now that more than ten years have passed, it would not be surprising at all if this Yuan blue and white gourd vase comes up for auction again, fetching a price of over 100 million.

Not to mention the large number of Yuan blue and white flowers collected in Iran and other places, as long as they enter the market, they are generally high-quality products and can be sold for sky-high prices.

Although it is not like the Guiguzi Descending Mountain vase, which is often sold for hundreds of millions, but like the double-gourd pattern vase, which is sold for tens of millions, there are many Yuan blue and white ones.

Detailed information is available on the porcelain that can enter the market and be auctioned. This kind of porcelain is obviously more conducive to Chen Wenzhe's imitation.

For example, the Yuan blue and white peony "seahorse" figure with lion button lid jar is not small at all, its size is 31.8cm.

When it was sold in 2008, it was estimated at 20 million to 30 million, and the final transaction price was more than 22.7 million.

There is also a large Yuan blue and white jar with peony patterns and capricorn fish ears. It is larger because in the Yuan Dynasty, the dignitaries liked big things.

It is also because of the advancement of technology that many large vessels can be produced, such as this large jar, which is as high as 50.4cm in size.

For such a large Yuan blue and white jar, even if the decoration is not special, the estimate is not low, usually between 30 million to 50 million, and the final transaction price was RMB 36,225,000.

This happens every year, and the reason why it easily sells over 30 million yuan is also somewhat unique.

This jar uses them as earrings, which is unique and novel, and echoes the function of such large jars.

Whether it is the first-name ring type or the Capricorn fish ear type large jar, its main function is to store fine wines for princes and nobles. If this product is decorated with Capricorn fish, it implies that the wine is as deep as the sea.

A large Yuan blue and white jar like this must be authentic as long as it is made.

Not only modern people know that it is a treasure, but in ancient times, the ancients cherished it even more.

So no matter who gets it, they will collect it carefully.

This is also the reason why the Yuan blue and white flowers that have survived to this day are all of high quality.

Don't say anything else, just look at his hair color, the shape of the vessel, and his height. Even if you don't understand porcelain, you should know that such a large blue and white vase is a treasure, right?

Therefore, the large jars that have survived to this day are more expensive than each other.

For example, the large gourd vase with blue and white branches in the Yuan Dynasty and "Fu Lu Eternal" is also called the Alexander vase.

Its size reaches a height of 47cm, and the transaction price is RMB56,810,000.

These are all relatively large and special fine products. In addition to these, there are also some Yuan blue and white porcelains that are ordinary in shape.

For example, there is a large Yuan blue and white vase with water waves, clouds, dragons, and lotus branches, and a Yuan blue and white vase with clouds, dragons, and peony patterns.

One of these two pieces was sold for 34.5 million, and the other was sold for more than 11.1 million.

Among other types of porcelain, this price is definitely high.

However, among the recorded transaction records of Yuan blue and white porcelain, it ranks at the bottom.

For example, a large jar with water waves, clouds, dragons, entwined branches and lotus patterns is a large jar with dragon pattern. The birth of this kind of large jar is closely related to the drinking culture of the Yuan Dynasty.

During the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties, my country strengthened its exchanges with other countries in West Asia, learned and absorbed the distilled liquor technology introduced from the Ala region, and soon spread throughout the country.

This is an epoch-making change in the history of my country's wine production.

This "Aciji" distilled liquor derived from Middle Eastern technology was a fine wine consumed by the aristocratic class of the Yuan Dynasty.

At that time, from the royal family and nobles to the bureaucrats and the common people, different classes had different drinking customs.

Only nobles could use blue and white porcelain to hold this kind of fine wine.

Therefore, large jars, plum bottles, jade pots, spring bottles, etc. were produced during this period, and these wine vessels were the most numerous.

There is also a Yuan blue and white Yuan blue and white Yuan dragon and peony pattern paved front jar, and the Yuan blue and white Yuan blue and white Yuan Yuan Yun dragon and lotus pattern pattern, the themes are very similar, and they are closely related to the drinking culture of the Yuan Dynasty.

There are many other large jars like this, such as the Yuan blue and white vase with entwined branches and peonies and the Ruyi Kaiguang phoenix-pierced pattern with animal ears. The craftsmanship of this one is relatively complicated.

This jar has a clean mouth, smooth shoulders, and convergent bottom. The jar body is thick and majestic.

The shoulders are symmetrically decorated with double animal ears, making her look full of energy.

There are six layers of patterns on the whole body, from top to bottom there are geometric patterns, intertwining lotus branches, lotus petal patterns, cloud shoulder patterns, intertwining peony branches, and deformed lotus petal patterns. The composition is complex but not chaotic, and it is pleasing to the eye.

The blue and white hair color is bright and pleasing to the eye, the glaze color is white with green in the middle, the accumulated glaze is duck egg green color, the thicker parts have black crystal spots, and the lighter parts are naturally scattered.

This is a typical glaze color of Jingzhen porcelain from the Yuan Dynasty, and the size of this large jar is only 37cm.

It was sold in 2000, and despite the sluggish market conditions, it was finally sold for 13.8 million yuan.

It is definitely no accident that this ordinary Yuan blue and white jar with various plant patterns can be sold for more than 10 million yuan.

Because apart from this one, whether it is a large jar or a plum vase, it can be sold for more than 10 million.

For example, the Yuan blue and white peacock peony plum vase with lid is 45cm high.

The transaction price in 2018 was RMB16.67 million.

This plum vase is handsome and straight, with a thick and solid texture.

The enamel is warm and green, with a cup-shaped cover, a pearl button in the middle, and a six-petal lotus pattern on the outside, with a sparse layout.

During the Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties, plum bottles were practical vessels, mostly used to hold wine, so they must be equipped with porcelain lids when firing.

In the Qing Dynasty, they were used for display or flower arrangement, so there was no need to bake the lid.

The style of its lids is consistent with the lids of five of the six blue and white plum vases unearthed from the Gao'an cellar in Xijiang.

The shoulders are decorated with a pattern of peacocks wearing peonies, and one side depicts a male peacock looking back and retracting its wings, just as it lands on the ground.

On the other side, the female peacock bows her head and flies, echoing the male peacock.

The painted peacock feathers are clear and charming, and the surrounding peonies are gracefully spread out, showing their beauty.

The layout of the decoration here is consistent with the theme decoration of Yuan blue and white peacock pattern animal ear jars unearthed from Xingang Street in Hui Province in the Yuan Dynasty. The brushwork is sparse, clear and elegant, as if it was made by one person.

Therefore, there is definitely a reason why this large can can be sold for more than 16 million yuan.

And this still doesn’t have a dragon, and it’s not an overly complicated shape.

There is also a Yuan blue and white peony jar with entwined branches. The standard peony jar is 34.5cm wide and 26.7cm high.

It sold for RMB 12,650,000 in 14 years. Why?

This jar has a straight mouth, broad shoulders, and gradually tapered belly. The traces of the birth are more obvious, and there are glaze spots stuck to the sand bottom of the ring feet.

The whole body and exterior are covered with white glaze, and the blue and white are deep in color with large black spots.

The neck is painted with tangled gardenias, the feet are surrounded by lotus patterns, and the theme pattern on the abdomen is tangled peonies.

The body is surrounded by a circle of lotus petals near the feet, among which, the abdomen is decorated with entangled peonies;
