This blue and white jade pot and spring vase from Yuxi kiln is 25.6cm high, 6.7cm in diameter and 9.5cm in foot diameter.
The bottle has a curled mouth, a narrow neck, a hanging belly, and a circled foot.
The whole body is covered with green and yellow glaze, and the outer wall is painted with blue and white banana leaves, lotus petals, and fish and algae patterns.
The blue and white styles of Yuxi kiln in the Yuan Dynasty are obviously different from those of Jingzhen.
Compared with the blue and white wares from Jingzhen, the blue and white wares from Yuxi kiln are still a bit inferior.
For example, the Yuxi kiln blue and white has a crisp texture, the glaze is yellowish, the blue and white has a dark tone, and the glazed glass has a strong texture.
Of course, there are disadvantages and advantages.
For example, although the blue and white color of this vase is not as good as the Jingzhen blue and white, the painting technique is natural and smooth, and the decoration is vividly expressed with just a few strokes.
This alone shows a certain lively artistic effect.
This also fully reflects the superb craftsmanship and exquisite techniques of the porcelain making industry in my country's border areas during the Yuan Dynasty.
Although the craftsmanship of this jade pot and spring bottle is not the best, it is rare, and it is an unexpected surprise to get it.
After looking through it, Chen Wenzhe finally found four genuine items.
Two of them are porcelain from Longquan kiln, and the other two are actually underglaze red porcelain.
Chen Wenzhe made many imitations of Longquan kiln porcelain, but he had never obtained a single authentic one.
The piece in the photo in front of me is a celadon plate with dragon pattern printed in Longquan kiln. It is 7.5cm high, 42.9cm in diameter and 29cm in foot diameter.
The plate has an open mouth, a shallow belly, a flat bottom, and rounded feet.
The inside and outside are covered with celadon glaze, the bottom is unglazed, and the exposed parts are flint red.
The center of the plate is stenciled with cloud and dragon patterns, and the inner wall is engraved with patterns.
This dish is larger in shape, has a thick body, and has a bluish-yellow glaze.
Under the thicker glaze layer, the stenciled cloud and dragon patterns are clearly visible.
This shows that this is a typical vessel of Longquan kiln celadon in the Yuan Dynasty.
Longquan kiln celadon developed from the Song Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty. Although the firing area expanded and the output increased dramatically, it could no longer produce the plum green color of the Southern Song Dynasty.
In order to make up for the lack of color of celadon, Longquan kiln celadon in the Yuan Dynasty often used molding, molding, carving and other techniques for decoration in order to pursue beautiful patterns and beautiful shapes.
In addition to this one, the other one is a Longquan kiln celadon clear vase.
This pure bottle from the Yuan Dynasty is 48.2cm high and 7.3cm in diameter.
The pure vase has a straight mouth, a long neck, and plump shoulders. It gradually converges below the shoulders and is slightly outward-looking near the feet.
There is a wheel-shaped rim at the lower part of the neck, with pink-green glaze applied inside and outside, and the glaze surface is even.
This kind of utensil, commonly known as a purification bottle, is actually a type of "military holding".
This kind of thing was originally a daily utensil of the three Indian ethnic groups, and was later given religious meaning by Buddhists.
It is mainly used to store water for drinking when traveling, washing hands or gargling after meals.
Military holdings can be roughly divided into two types: two-port and single-port types, with textures such as ceramics and metals.
Porcelain single-mouth military holder was produced from the Five Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty.
Its basic characteristics are a small mouth, a long neck, plump shoulders, gradually converging below the shoulders, circle feet, and a wheel-shaped rim on the neck.
This kind of celadon-glazed clear bottle fired at the Longquan kiln in Jiangsu and Zhejiang during the Yuan Dynasty is often called the "Ji" bottle because its shape resembles the character "吉".
Many celadon-glazed pure vases from the Longquan kiln of the Yuan Dynasty have been found, but those as large and exquisitely glazed as this one are extremely rare.
In fact, in ancient times, this kind of military holding was more popular among Buddhism in the northwest.
Among them, the most famous piece of military equipment is probably the golden purifying bottle from the nine-story demon tower.
That bottle is still very beautiful, especially the curvature on the round belly.
"The west side still has great potential."
After a big harvest, Chen Wenzhe became keenly interested in archeology.
Not to mention other things, just talking about the nine-story demon tower is definitely not simple.
Also, since there is a nine-story demon tower, will there be a second one?
The answer is yes, because it is absolutely impossible for any dynasty to have only one prince, so why should the second generation perish?
For example, the so-called nine-story demon tower is not just a royal tomb, but a cemetery.
If you find such a cemetery once, it will be a great harvest.
When he has time, Chen Wenzhe really wants to take a look. Maybe he can discover more ancient tombs through the nine-story demon tower.
The "nine-story demon tower" described in "Ghost Blowing the Lamp" was just a legend at first.
But when the legend becomes reality, it becomes interesting.
This ancient tomb, based on the Xuewei No. 1 Tomb, has triggered heated discussions, and there are still many secrets worthy of further exploration.
This "nine-story demon tower" is well known to the world, but its real scientific name is "Xuewei No. 1 Tomb", but very few people know it.
The name "Xuewei" is determined by the geographical location of the tomb.
It lies at the foot of Xuewei Mountain in the north and the Chahan Wusu River in the south.
As for the number "No. 1", it also shows that it is the most important one in this group of tombs.
In fact, there were many small ancient tombs around the "Xuewei No. 1" in Dulan Hotwater County at that time.
There are more than 200 caves, all of which have been robbed to varying degrees.
As the protagonist, "Xuewei No. 1 Tomb" has been visited by many gold medalists.
Judging from the analysis of traces during archaeological excavations, it was not only stolen but also burned several times in the early days.
So, why is the "Xuewei Tomb No. 1" popularly known as the "Nine-Story Demon Tower"?
This actually has a lot to do with the shape of its seal.
Speaking of "pagodas", in addition to pagodas, the most familiar ones are pyramids.
The tomb seal of this large tomb is very special. It is 58 meters long from north to south, 65 meters wide from south, and 55 meters wide from north.
Both its plane and elevation show a trapezoidal structure, which is very similar to the Chinese character for "gold".
Therefore, it is also called the "Oriental Pyramid", which is the origin of the "tower" in the "Nine-story Demonic Tower".
As for the "nine floors", if you check the archaeological report, you will find that its sealing soil is not made of a single material.
This ancient tomb is made of loess, gray sand and boulders.
At a height of 35 meters, every one meter or so from top to bottom, there is a layer of flat wood, neatly arranged around the surrounding soil.
In this way, an obvious nine-level stratification is formed.
Finally, let’s talk about this “demon”. This is because the locals call it “a tall building with monsters”.
It is said that the ancient tombs were once caves where demons hid.
Later, King Gesar and his heroes fought fiercely with the demons for many days, and finally drove them away.
But the cave was not empty after the demons had gone, and there were still many gold and silver treasures inside. The local people also called these ancient tombs "buildings where monsters gather."
In fact, all the rumors are not groundless.
This Xuewei No. 1 tomb, known as the "Nine-story Demonic Tower", does contain a large amount of gold, silver and fabric burial objects. So who will be its owner?
Judging from the structural characteristics of the tomb itself, it undoubtedly belongs to the Tubo system.
According to the archaeological excavation work, the tomb chamber is located 11.5 meters deep under the sealing soil and is located in the center of the sealing soil.
Built on the lower trapezoidal platform, the plane is cross-shaped, 21 meters wide from east to west and 18.5 meters long from north to south.
