Chapter 1,728 Northern Song Dynasty Bank

A group of tomb robbers stole 6 ancient pagodas in just 5 years on the pretext of catering!

These are the real tomb robbers. They have carried forward the inheritance of ancient tomb robbers.

Just from September 2011 to October 2016, they committed crimes one after another in five years and unearthed a large number of cultural relics.

After premeditated inspections, this criminal gang rented private houses and other places near the ancient pagoda, used catering operations and opened restaurants as a cover, and continued to steal.

Using professional tools, they successively robbed the ancient pagoda of Qingfan Temple in Xingping, Xianyang (Tang Dynasty), the ancient pagoda of Huiche Temple, Pucheng, Weinan (Tang Dynasty), the ancient pagoda of Taiping Temple in Qishan, Baoji (Song Dynasty), and the Tai pagoda of Xunyi, Xianyang (Song Dynasty).

There are 6 ancient pagodas and underground palaces, including the Asoka Pagoda in West Shaanxi County (Yuan Dynasty) and the ancient pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple in Binzhou, Xianyang (Song Dynasty).

From 2016 to the end of 2017, the gang also robbed and excavated the Dongguo ancient tombs from the Western Zhou Dynasty in YC City, Western Shaanxi Province.

These six ancient pagodas are all national key cultural relics protection units announced by the state.

Looking back to 2011, it was in that year that these "golden captains" began their ugly and dirty performances.

Wei and Zhang (deceased) planned to rob the ancient pagoda of Qingfan Temple.

After renting a private house, he used "making pancakes" as a cover.

Later, when we were excavating the ancient pagoda and underground palace of Huiche Temple, we used the same trick again.

In September 2013, Yanli and Hu once again joined forces to plan to rob the underground palace of the ancient Taiping Temple tower in Qishan Experimental University.

After identification, the recovered cultural relics included 4 first-level cultural relics, 5 seventh-level cultural relics, 29 eighth-level cultural relics, and 57 special cultural relics.

The criminals were very cunning. In order to avoid being discovered by the homeowner, they restored the ground with concrete and painted it with red paint before leaving.

That time, I rented a private house to run a steamed bun shop, and then robbed the ancient pagoda and underground palace.

However, the vigilance of that group was very weak and they would always change trading locations, which caused a huge setback for the police’s arrest work.

It seems that the sentence is actually too harsh, which is why tomb robbers have been caught repeatedly.

There is also an item stele unearthed from the underground palace of the ancient pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple. The inscription clearly records the collection of items in the underground palace.

Before Tang Moumou and others acquired it, they resold it to Tan Moumou and Liu Moumou for 5.8 million yuan.

Previously, we were frantically excavating various underground palaces, such as the Taita Underground Palace in Xunyi, where we unearthed 24 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics including the Nirvana statue of Sakyamuni, copper coffins, silver coffins, and porcelain vases;

On October 11, 2018, Ruan Moumou handed over the cultural relics he purchased.

They rented a front room, ran a big restaurant "making pancakes", and excavated the underground palace of the ancient pagoda. The result was exactly the same as the next time they were robbed. The underground palace on the pagoda had been robbed, and the group returned disappointed.

Why are there so few ancient coins on the land for sale?

According to the criminal suspect, we found those ancient coins outside a wheat field in Caoxu Village, Fanpo Town.

Unearthed from the underground palace of the ancient Qingfan Temple in Xingping was a set of stone pagodas (a total of 12 pieces) with a height of two meters, seven eaves and one floor with four edges and four sides. The pagoda body was engraved with the words "Xiao Zhong Xiang Fu Seven Years in the Xiao Song Dynasty", and a silver Ayu

A total of 18 pieces (groups) of precious cultural relics including the King's Tower;

For example, the cultural relics stolen from the ancient pagoda and underground palace of Kaiyuan Temple have changed hands several times.

The police found ancient coins under the suspect's car. The small amount shocked us.

In the early morning of January 8, the police finally identified the suspect and dispatched eight plainclothes teams to arrest him.

But the bad thing is that the police planned well and finally caught the suspect in Huolong Town, Yuzhou City at 11 p.m.

Including the 4 tons excavated later by the criminal suspect, a total of 6 tons of ancient coins were unearthed here.

During the excavation, Wei Gang used a theodolite to retreat and guide the digging direction.

After identification by archaeological experts, those coins were all from the Song and Jin Dynasties.

The Monument Tablet was discovered during the on-site investigation and evidence collection of the ancient pagoda and underground palace of Kaiyuan Temple. Without it, the lost cultural relics can be recovered.

It is a pity that these hidden ancient coins have not been robbed or even resold yet.

The tomb robbers who later hid the golden knife had nothing to do with Wei and his group. They were just our descendants who hid it, but it was us who did it.

There must be that, except for this group of tomb robbers, everyone else will know what has been stolen, and naturally they will be able to trace it.

Relevant departments attached great importance to this matter and formed a special team to track and arrest criminal suspects.

According to the identification of archaeological experts, the cellar should have been a bank in the late Northern Song Dynasty, specially used to store copper coins. After a long time, the other two suspects also surrendered to the police under pressure.

In November, Wei and others targeted Xunyi Taita Tower.

A month ago, the underground palace was opened. Wei and Zhang stole cultural relics such as the reclining Buddha statue, the copper coffin (containing silver coffin), the glass bottle, and the large Buddha statue.

In order to deceive others, we put the ancient coins in woven bags and sell them back.

Fortunately, these illegal elements have not been arrested yet, which makes Chen Wenzhe neither regretful nor lucky!

Tan Moumou and Liu Moumou increased the price by 17.2 million yuan, and Ruan Moumou bought it for 23 million yuan and took it home to worship.

On January 16, a criminal suspect involved in reselling ancient coins was captured by Yuzhou police in Fuxin, Liaoning Province.

In the underground palace of the ancient pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple in Binzhou, stone coffins, copper coffins, silver coffins, silver-gilt coffins, and gold coffins were unearthed.

As 2019 has just arrived, the police in Nanhe Yuzhou received a clue that lawless elements were engaged in reselling cultural relics in Yuzhou.

On the evening of December 20, 2018, seven people dug up a total of seven tons of ancient coins in the wheat field.

The cultural relics protection department conducted rescue excavations at the site and unearthed a total of 2 tons of ancient coins.

After counting, a total of 2.2 tons of ancient coins were found under the suspect's car.

On April 21, 2020, the XY City Intermediate People's Court ruled in the first instance that Wei and other defendants were guilty of robbing ancient cultural sites and burying ancient tombs, and were sentenced to 17 years to 17 years in prison, plus 40,000 to 70 yuan.

Ten thousand yuan is equivalent to a fine.

By the time we were caught, we had sold less than 40 bags of ancient coins. Each bag was sold for 40,000 yuan, making a profit of one million yuan.

In the first month of 2012, they were digging holes to excavate the ancient pagoda. Before the underground palace was opened, they found that the pagoda had been excavated, and arranged for their hands to backfill the vertical holes before leaving.

We rented a front room far away from the South Tower and ran a restaurant.

Today, all the collections recorded in the inscription have not been recovered by relevant departments.

In addition to the coffin, there are also bronze Bodhisattva statues, glass bottles, bronze mirrors, silver tribute plates, silver pure bottles, glass pure bottles, white porcelain bowls, white porcelain dishes, white porcelain vases, conchs, corals, Kaiyuan Tongbao copper coins, etc. 49

A piece (group) of precious cultural relics.

The remaining defendants were respectively guilty of robbing ancient cultural sites and reselling cultural relics, and were sentenced to corresponding penalties.

After passing through that group of people, Chen Wenzhe also discovered another group of tomb robbers who had nothing to do with ancient coins.

In order to reduce the punishment, the two suspects also brought 1.8 tons of ancient coins.

They dug holes and stole the silver Ashoka Pagoda, stone pagodas, glass bottles, suspected Mani cakes, copper coins and other cultural relics from the underground palace.

Before being arrested, the suspect informed the police of the location where the ancient coins were stolen.
