The royal family of the Song Dynasty abandoned the use of Ding kiln porcelain due to the problem of Mangkou. The record at that time is: "In the old capital, Ding kiln was not banned, but your porcelain was used because Ding kiln has awn."
Some Ding porcelain has a ring of copper wrapped around the edge. Later imitations often use black glaze instead of the copper ring.
Of course, there are also ones that are wrapped with a ring of gold, which is the famous "gold fixer".
The shortcomings of this kiln-firing method were also obvious, so several kiln-firing methods were later developed.
Among them, there are two relatively rare cooking methods. One is to bake in opposites, where two bowls are placed together to cook.
Then there is the set firing, where the bowl is placed on top of the plate and the glaze is missing in the middle of the fired plate.
At the end, branch firing was developed, also known as branch firing. It was mostly used for stack firing and was famous for Ru kiln.
It is estimated that the emperor of the Song Dynasty pursued perfection and could not bear the porcelain without glaze, so the porcelain workers of Ru kiln came up with this ultimate firing method.
There are two types of support firing in Ru kiln. One is to use clay on the bottom of the porcelain and stick a few support nails.
The second is to place the porcelain on the mud cake with supporting nails, then burn it alone, and then knock off the supporting nails after burning.
Among all porcelains, Ru kiln has the smallest unglazed area.
Generally, Ru porcelain has glaze on its entire body except for a few nail marks.
The ancient secretary Ru kiln was called "sesame nails". Many imitators now understand that the nails are the size of sesame seeds, and the nails made are round, which is wrong.
In fact, the nail marks handed down from Ru kilns are really sesame-shaped and flat.
In addition, Yuan blue and white would also be burned with pins. The famous Daweide vase was the standard vessel for Yuan blue and white.
Under the two elephant ears, there are nail marks the size of chestnuts.
This is a rare way of supporting burning. Large supporting nails are directly supported on the sagger to prevent the vase from collapsing in the kiln.
Nowadays, natural gas is used to burn kilns. There is no smoke in the gas kiln, so there is no need for a sagger. The porcelain can be placed directly on the kiln plate.
Of course, you have to be careful, and there is absolutely no problem in using a sagger.
So the above-mentioned burning of this and that has become the skill of slaying a dragon!
The dragon refers to various famous kiln utensils in ancient times.
After digesting this sudden inheritance, Chen Wenzhe felt that he had gained a lot.
Cover firing, supporting rings, gold fixing devices, Ru kiln sesame nails, these are all harvests.
Although over-firing is a bit outdated, by using the branch-ring firing method, you can get porcelain with an angular edge. In this way, if you inlay a circle of gold, wouldn't you get a gold fixer?
Ding kiln white porcelain in the Song Dynasty was decorated with gold, silver or copper mouths. It was called "gold-mounted ding" in history, also known as "Mangkou gold decoration" and "mounted mouth".
Gold includes gold, silver, copper and other precious metals, not specifically gold.
In the "Preparatory History of Wu and Yue", "Records of Tributes to the Two Dynasties of Song Dynasty" and "Collection of Song Hui Yao", the names of tribute porcelain include gold mouth, silver mouth and gold-mounted fixing vessels.
In the fifth year of Taiping and Xingguo's reign (980) in the Northern Song Dynasty, the Qian family of Wuyue paid tribute to Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty with "Two Thousand Things of Gold Equipment".
There are two types of gold-decorated ware. From the Five Dynasties to the early Northern Song Dynasty, the high-grade tribute white porcelain fired in Ding kiln was inlaid with gold mouth and gold feet to show nobility;
In the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty, after the gasket covering and burning process was adopted, Mangkou appeared.
In order to cover up the crack defects of high-grade white porcelain, the mouth is covered with gold.
This kind of thing may not have been favored by the royal family in the Song Dynasty, but now it is sought after by many people.
This method of firing porcelain is already an art and is still sought after by people. Naturally, Chen Wenzhe also likes it.
So, he doesn't want to give up.
And as long as he didn't want to give up, a more detailed process of making the gold fixer would naturally emerge in his mind.
Of course, compared to kiln firing, basic manufacturing skills allow him to understand some of the firing methods of this kind of porcelain. If he wants to become specialized or master-level skills, he must continue to learn.
However, this is enough.
With sufficient porcelain making skills and an understanding of the firing process of gold-plated ware, it would not be difficult for Chen Wenzhe to re-fire a kiln of Ding kiln gold-plated kettles.
After carefully recalling the firing techniques of Ding kiln, Chen Wenzhe came back to his senses.
Compared with gold setters, pins and sesame nails, they are more desirable.
If Ru kiln nail firing is done well, you can make Ru kiln porcelain worth 300 million yuan!
Those national treasure gangs like Ru kiln porcelain. As long as it is recognized by them, the porcelain fired today will also be a real national treasure.
Chen Wenzhe once heard a saying that in the collecting world, by the end of the game, you will become a national treasure gang. As long as you are good enough, you will eventually collect a large number of national treasures.
And this should be the ultimate goal of all collectors.
Therefore, many people satisfy this demand of collectors.
Of course, Chen Wenzhe no longer relies on his own skills to deceive people. He just wants to make a batch of works that are comparable to Ru Kiln porcelain. Even if he doesn't sell them, he might as well enjoy them himself.
After all, a family with thousands of dollars is not as good as a kiln. He has already heard calluses on his ears.
As long as you play with porcelain, there is no one who doesn’t admire Ru kiln porcelain, right?
Therefore, if you can’t get the real thing, it’s also good to make some high-quality imitations for appreciation.
After spending two hours in the studio, Chen Wenzhe was inspired and learned a lot of new knowledge. Chen Wenzhe was very satisfied.
But he couldn't verify it in the studio. After all, many classmates were still drawing embryos, but you wanted to fire Ru kiln porcelain. Isn't this just envy and jealousy?
Feeling that there was nothing he could do in the studio, Chen Wenzhe simply walked out of the Taoyan Center building.
It was already half past eight, and we arrived at the Antique City in half an hour.
When I arrived at the Antique City, I opened the door and felt a little quiet.
As May Day approaches, the number of visitors to the Old Town God's Temple has decreased. I'm afraid it will have to wait until May Day for a large number of tourists to come here.
With nothing to do, Chen Wenzhe looked up some information on the Internet.
Occasionally, someone would come to buy a gold bracelet or have the gold appraised, and he would buy it once.
Just like that, I stayed there for a day.
The more he searched for information, the more Chen Wenzhe felt that he knew too little. He really felt that when the book is used, he will regret it!
In particular, he still lacks knowledge about the prices of antiques.
For example, he had many Yuan Dynasty copper coins in his hand, but he had never understood their prices.
Not to mention knowing the price, Chen Wenzhe didn't even know how many types of copper coins there were in the Yuan Dynasty.
Later, he sorted out the selected copper coins according to the historical background, and found that there were many types.
The ancient coins of the Yuan Dynasty include Dachao Tongbao, Zhongtong Yuanbao, Zhiyuan Tongbao, Yuanzhen Tongbao, Dade Tongbao, Zhida Tongbao, Zhidai Yuanbao and Dayuan Tongbao (national treasure).
