When he meets someone, he tries his hand at it. Chen Wenzhe is still a little confident.
Everything is for sale in the market, and as long as you have money, you can easily buy anything.
Li Jinli is also a professional, so he naturally knows what to buy.
So, he soon returned to the shop with a large number of carving knives and power tools.
"Senior brother, do you dare to take action? Help me smooth out all the internal and external decorations."
No matter how confident Chen Wenzhe is, he does not want to destroy the beauty of this jade tripod.
Therefore, he still planned to practice with some wooden blocks first.
In this way, the jade tripod can be handed over to Li Jinli.
"Rubbed off?" Li Jinli asked in surprise.
Such a beautiful jade, even if it is a fake, it would be nice to keep it and look at it. Wouldn't it be a pity to destroy it like this?
He knew very well that Chen Wenzhe had never made jade carvings.
Carving in porcelain production is completely different from jade carving. Is he so confident?
"It's not worth anything anyway, you can grind it as you like." Chen Wenzhe said with a smile.
The two of them just casually decided the fate of a jade tripod that had high hopes and was traded as a treasure.
Chen Wenzhe took apart a set of power tools and found some filler inside. This stuff has thick particles and is not suitable for carving, but it is soft enough.
Chen Wenzhe then cut a few times and cut out a human figure.
However, that's it, this kind of thing cannot be carved in detail.
I removed a wooden board from a power tool and lightly scratched it with a carving knife.
A plump figure appeared before his eyes. After adding a few strokes, a picture of a Tang Dynasty lady with a wide robe and long sleeves appeared.
The next step is to show off. This is not difficult at all, but if you want to really do it well, not everyone can do it.
Although he originally had master-level carving skills, it was for clay tires, and this time it was for harder wood.
However, after receiving too many inheritances and understanding them thoroughly, he can do all kinds of sculptures.
For example, he also knows the technique of bronze carving, and it is at least an expert level.
Otherwise, even if he had seen the craftsmanship of many jade carving masters from the Qing Palace Building Office, he would not dare to casually attack a jade tripod.
At least he had expert-level skills, and the carving knife at hand was quite powerful. He carved out the outline of the lady's face in just a few strokes.
Although he couldn't say that practice makes perfect with this technique, he could still master it easily.
In just a few clicks, a lady's face with soft lines appeared. The next step is the key point, the finishing touch.
Without the finishing touch, Chen Wenzhe would not have dared to sculpt a character for the first time.
After a few more strokes, the character's eyes appeared, and then the eyes were constantly modified.
At this time, the power of the unique skill is clearly demonstrated.
In just a few clicks, the lady's eyes became piercing.
In just a few clicks, a picture of a Tang Dynasty lady holding flowers and smiling appeared on the wooden board.
"Awesome!" Although Li Jinli was polishing the jade tripod, his eyes would still glance at Chen Wenzhe from time to time.
When he saw it, he was shocked. He didn't expect that Chen Wenzhe's carving skills were really amazing.
"Planar engraving is different from three-dimensional engraving."
After just a little experimentation, Chen Wenzhe knew where his shortcomings were.
However, the carving of the jade tripod does not require three-dimensional carving, because the shape of the jade tripod has already been carved out.
Besides, when he carves clay bodies, he also does three-dimensional carvings. It would not be difficult for him to carve a jade tripod from scratch.
I tried it twice, just to find out the feeling and try out the edge of the carving knife in my hand.
Feeling that there was no difficulty, Chen Wenzhe came to Li Jinli. He had already made a mess on the tea table.
There is no other way to polish the jade material. You can only use a small water pipe to spray water while polishing, otherwise the house will be filled with dust.
Finding a small abrasive tool again, Chen Wenzhe helped Li Jinli, and the two of them processed the patterns on the jade tripod.
This jade tripod may be to preserve the jade material as much as possible and not to waste it, so the original jade tripod was still relatively thick. Now even if one layer is polished and removed, it will not have much impact on this jade tripod.
Two people worked together, and the jade tripod itself was not too hard, so it was still very fast.
After polishing it, Chen Wenzhe did not make any design. He just kept carving the Kui dragon pattern on the jade tripod.
In fact, when he saw this jade tripod, he thought of which work this jade tripod was copied from.
It was a mutton-fat white jade tripod with Kui dragon patterns carved during the Qianlong period, but this treasure is now in the beautiful collection of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
It was a jade tripod made of mutton-fat jade. This grade of jade material was rare even during the Qianlong period, so it was very precious.
The mutton-fat jade tripod did not have too complicated carvings. The main reason was that Emperor Qianlong cherished the mutton-fat jade and was unwilling to make it into an exquisite tripod. In other words, he did not use any complicated hollow carving techniques to highlight the mutton-fat jade.
The transparency of fat jade.
Instead, we chose the simple, thick, and majestic appearance of Western Zhou bronzes, and produced a top-notch work with only complicated patterns, which also highlights the unique production level of the Imperial House.
One afternoon, Chen Wenzhe did nothing, just stayed in the shop and kept carving.
After it was completed and polished, the jade tripod had turned into a very beautiful white jade three-legged round tripod with Kui dragon pattern.
It looks like it is carved from a whole piece of white jade, and the quality of the jade is delicate. This is the reason why A material imitates Hetian jade.
The shape and decoration of the vessel imitate the bronzes of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, with double towering ears, square lips and folded rims, straight walls and deep belly, round bottom and three legs. It is domineering and stretched, simple and gorgeous.
The upper part of the tripod has the shape of a Kui dragon. The dragon's head is slightly raised, its mouth is open and its teeth are exposed. The dragon's whiskers are spread sideways, flying and elegant. The dragon's body is stretched and its scales and claws are clear.
There are relief Kui dragon patterns all around, with big eyes and wide mouth, and a majestic momentum.
The tripod has three legs in the shape of a pillar, bearing the head of a beast beneath it. There are string patterns on the feet, highlighting its calmness and elegance.
The whole thing looks like it is made of luxurious materials and meticulously carved, using a variety of techniques such as reduced relief, high relief, and negative line engraving.
The antique Yi wares are made of jade, which is smooth, bright, and unique, making them more luxurious and rich than bronze wares.
Unfortunately, this piece of material is not real Hetian white jade, but just fake Afghan jade.
But, so what if it’s Afghan jade? It looks very beautiful now!
Especially with Chen Wenzhe's carving work, this jade tripod has a unique charm and looks very majestic.
You know, it's not easy to carve it into what it is now.
When using white jade to imitate antique bronzes, the requirements for carving craftsmanship and structural design are quite high. Otherwise, not only will the majesty and rigor of the bronzes not be replicated, but the jade itself will appear heavy and lifeless.
