Chapter 910 Destroy its ancestral temple and move its heavy weapons
"Huh? This is a crossbow machine? Isn't it something that only existed during the Three Kingdoms period?"
Looking at the strange-shaped bronze vessel in his hand, Chen Wenzhe was filled with surprise.
Zhuge Liannu was very famous during the Three Kingdoms period. Unexpectedly, a bronze crossbow from the Han Dynasty appeared in front of him.
This is a bronze vessel, and it must be a crossbow. It cannot be from the Three Kingdoms period.
Looking at the rusted bronze vessel in his hand, its crossbow mechanism was exposed outside the wooden handle, and was decorated with gold and silver.
Overall, this is a very mature crossbow machine, and every part of it has exquisite patterns.
Not to mention other places, there are five groups on Wangshan Mountain: snake-shaped dragon pattern, phoenix pattern, golden snake pattern, running animal pattern, and flying crane pattern;
There are two groups on the upper teeth: a pair of running deer on the outer side, a pair of cranes on the front, and two flying geese on the wheel under the teeth;
There are two groups at both ends of the key: one is the white tiger and the red bird, the other is the running deer and the running beast.
What is more complicated is that there are also patterns in the Guotai and the arrow groove.
The rear part of Guotai is a picture of a white tiger biting a wild boar, and the front part is a picture of two symmetrical groups of running deer;
Doosan and the alveolar edge are decorated with 13 groups of small composite rhombus patterns with gold wire.
The arrow trough is painted with images of sharp swords and wild geese: a golden sharp arrow shoots out of the string, and two wild geese flee in front of it.
Within a few inches, the expressions and shapes of the wild geese are vividly depicted, and it seems like you can hear the whine of the two wild geese.
If it is determined that this thing was created during the Western Han Dynasty, it can definitely be called "the best crossbow in the world".
"Another treasure!"
This weapon actually has so many decorations on it.
Especially the patterns on it are decorated with gold and silver, which is even more rare.
Of course, there is another more important point, that is, it is still a practical weapon!
There are quite a few decorations using wrong gold and silver here. If you just take a look, you can find quite a few.
After putting away the crossbow, Chen Wenzhe looked at a copper pot placed next to him.
It should be a copper kettle. After all, Chen Wenzhe has very good knowledge in making kettles.
However, compared to the teapots he made, the craftsmanship of this copper teapot is much more complicated, and it also uses the wrong gold and silver decoration techniques.
Of course, this is nothing. The main reason why this copper pot attracts Chen Wenzhe is its craftsmanship.
This is a copper kettle covered with gold and silver inlaid with wire mesh. However, it does not seem to be from the Han Dynasty, but from the Warring States Period.
Why is it said to be from the Warring States Period? Because this thing was spread in an orderly manner.
In the fifth year of King Xuan of Qi (315 BC), the prince of the northern Yan Kingdom Pinghe Jiangjunshi launched a mutiny to attack the prime minister's son.
Zizhi successfully carried out a counter-coup, Yan was in civil strife, and Qi general Chen Zhang captured the capital of Yan.
After Chen Zhang's army captured the capital of Yan, they "destroyed its ancestral temple and moved its important weapons."
One of the "heavy utensils" is the utensil in the palace of Yan State - a copper kettle covered with gold and silver inlaid with wire mesh during the Warring States Period.
Chen Zhang ordered people to carve an inscription on the pot to record his attack on Yan State.
Therefore, this Warring States Period copper pot with gold and silver inlaid wire mesh, also known as the Chen Zhang round pot, is a wine container from the middle period of the Warring States period.
This Warring States Period copper kettle with gold and silver inlaid wire mesh is 24 cm in height, 12.8 cm in diameter, 22.2 cm in belly diameter, 13.8 cm in diameter, and weighs 6250 grams.
It is composed of a body and a net cover on the shoulders and abdomen. The body has a wide mouth, a long neck, a round belly, and a circle foot.
The mouth of this vessel is engraved with an inscription recording the capacity of the pot, and the words "Chen Zhang's gains from conquering Yan (Yan)" are engraved on the outside of the circle.
This reflects the war between Qi and Yan in 315 BC.
These think of the value attached to them because of the inscriptions.
Even if you don’t look at these inscriptions and just look at the craftsmanship of this copper pot, it is definitely a treasure.
In fact, it is because of the complicated craftsmanship of this copper pot that anyone who sees it will know that it is a treasure, so someone would carve an inscription on it.
Therefore, it is because of this copper pot that there is an inscription.
And with the inscription, the value of this copper kettle is increased.
Looking at the copper kettle in front of you and imagining its name, you can actually see that the craftsmanship of this artifact is extremely complicated.
Mixed gold and silver, inlaid, silk mesh cover, copper kettle.
How complex are these processes?
Let’s not talk about anything else. Just look at the abdomen, which is welded with vertical and horizontal flower branches.
This is nothing, but the flowers are welded to the branches. The flowers are composed of five petals and stamens. The petal decoration is as thin as hair, and there are a total of 576 peach blossoms in full bloom.
Isn't this very simple? There are even more complex ones.
On the flower on the upper abdomen of this copper pot, there is also a gold and silver copper ring welded on it, and four facing pavements are welded around the ring.
In the middle of the two corners of the pavement, a round bead is inlaid.
The curved horn tip is cast into a dragon head.
The dragon opens its mouth with a tongue in its mouth, and two pairs of small teeth are exposed on both sides of its lips, the tips of which are as small as needle points.
Four gold and silver tiger-shaped handles are welded on the abdomen, with copper rings on the upper end and flowers on the lower end, staggered with the paving head.
The tiger's body is curved, its head is downward, its mouth is wide open, its front and rear legs are spread apart, and its claws are grasping the cylinder.
Is it difficult to make such a complicated pattern? Is it complicated enough?
This is not over yet! There is also the process of copper wire mesh sleeve!
The copper wire mesh cover on this copper pot is made of ninety-six curled dragons and 576 plum blossom nails, which are interlaced and fastened.
There is a copper hoop with gold and silver cloud patterns in the middle of the net cover. There are four animal head rings and four inverted relief beasts on the hoops. The head rings and standing animals are decorated with gold and silver patterns.
These are just the abdominal decorations of the copper pot. In addition to the abdomen, there are also neck, circle feet, etc.
The neck and foot of the pot, as well as the shoulders and belly under the net cover, are decorated with gold and silver diagonal checkered cloud patterns.
The pot base is round, with a hollow circular contrasting pattern on the plane.
The neck and base of the pot are decorated with gold and silver sheets, and gold and silver wires form geometric patterns.
From these places, we can see how sophisticated and complicated the craftsmanship of this copper pot is.
The most important thing is that after adding so many complex craftsmanship, the final overall effect is still as unique as that piece, and the shape of the vessel is still so beautiful and natural.
This is not simple, which is enough to show how exquisite its production process is.
That's it, I just talked about the decorations on it, and I haven't talked about the overall layout or the overall craftsmanship.
In terms of the overall layout, this artifact is a bronze pot decorated with a three-layer network of three-dimensional hollow net sleeves composed of long dragons and plum blossom nails.
The outside of the pot body is decorated with a copper wire mesh sleeve. The mesh sleeve is divided into upper and lower halves. The upper part is connected to the shoulder of the pot body. The lower part starts from the edge of the ring foot and is connected to the pot belly. The connecting part is decorated with a horizontal hoop.
.
The net cover is a three-dimensional hollow three-layer network structure, which is made up of long and undulating dragons coiled up, down, left, and right, intertwined head to tail, and intertwined with each other.
The intersection of the two dragons is connected with plum blossom nails, which penetrate the inner and outer three-layer network.
There are forty-eight long dragons on the upper part of the net, each rising and falling three times. There are forty-eight vertical rows of plum blossom nails, three in each row, and there are one hundred and forty-four in them;
There are also forty-eight long dragons in the lower half, each rising and falling nine times. There are also forty-eight rows of plum blossom nails, nine in each row, for a total of four hundred and thirty-two.
Does this show how complicated its casting process is?
