Chen Wenzhe was really surprised when he saw an imperial seal.
This is not simple. He has never heard of any ancient tomb in the country where the emperor's seal was unearthed.
Besides, seals of this level are generally used for inheritance, from father to son, and from son to grandson. This represents orthodoxy, so how can it be used as a burial object?
Even if he was the last king of Nanyue, he couldn't put the imperial seal he used in his tomb, right?
As long as he is not the last king, descendants would not want this kind of thing to enter Laozi's tomb, right?
"No, it seems that it has been unearthed. It is popular in South Vietnam to bury the emperor's seal with him?"
At this time, Chen Wenzhe remembered that in Yangcheng, the tomb of Emperor Wen, the second king of South Vietnam, had been excavated, and the seal of Emperor Wen was unearthed.
This is the official seal of Emperor Ai. Only the unlucky emperor would use Ai as his posthumous title.
At this time, Chen Wenzhe also remembered that this unlucky emperor was the fourth king of South Vietnam, and he was really slaughtered.
The Nanyue Kingdom, also known as the Nanyue Kingdom, was a political power located in the Lingnan region from the late Qin to the Western Han Dynasty.
From the founder of the country, Zhao Tuo, to the founder of the country, Zhao Jiande, there were five kings, and the country lasted for ninety-three years.
At the end of Qin Dynasty, Zhao Tuo, the captain of Nanhai County, took advantage of the fall of Qin to seal off the pass and annex Guilin County and Xiang County in Lingnan.
In the third year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, the Nanyue Kingdom (Southern Guangdong Kingdom) was officially established and its capital was Panyu.
In the eleventh year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, Nanyue became a vassal state of the Han Dynasty.
In the fourth year of Yuanding, the Prime Minister of South Vietnam, Lu Jia, launched a rebellion, killed the South Vietnamese King Zhao Xing, and established the Marquis of Shu Yang, Zhao Jiande, as the South Vietnamese King.
In the autumn of the fifth year of Yuanding, Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, launched a war against the Nanyue Kingdom, which was destroyed in the winter of the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC).
At its peak, the territory of the South Vietnam Kingdom included most of today's Guangdong and Guangxi, a small part of Hu Jian, the South China Sea, Hong Kong and Macao, and most of northern and central Vietnam.
The Nanyue Kingdom was the first complete dynastic regime in the history of Lingnan, and it established the basic scope of today's Lingnan.
The place where Chen Wenzhe is now is south of the northern mountainous area and north of the central region.
It doesn't seem so strange that a royal tomb appears in this place.
Besides, Zhao Xing, the unlucky guy, had no choice but to choose the cemetery.
There were five kings of the South Vietnam Kingdom, the first was King Wu Zhao Tuo, the second was King Wen, the third was King Ming, and the fourth was the unlucky King Ai.
Let’s not talk about the rebellious Lu Jia, but let’s talk about the royal families of the South Vietnam Kingdom. After they established the South Vietnam Kingdom, they have been uneasy and afraid of the threat from the Central Plains Dynasty.
At the beginning, Zhao Tuo and his son were in chaos at the end of Qin Dynasty, so they were still confident.
But later on, they must have become more and more uneasy, otherwise Zhao Xing, also known as King Ai, would not have thought of surrendering.
Therefore, they had always wanted to stay away from the Han Dynasty, so after King Ai came to power, they only prepared a way out in the rear.
Even after Lu Jia rebelled, they did not stop doing such little things.
When the rebellion failed, Lu Jia and Zhao Jiande, brother of Emperor Ai Zhao Xing, were captured when they fled westward across the sea.
They did not escape to the south of South Vietnam, which is now the central and northern part of Vietnam.
At this point, the Nanyue Kingdom was destroyed and passed down to the fifth generation. The last Zhao Jiande did not have time to build a luxurious mausoleum, so what Chen Wenzhe saw this time must be the tomb of Emperor Ai.
Knowing whose tomb it was and the historical background, Chen Wenzhe naturally understood why the hollow dragon and phoenix jade ring in his hand not only had the top-notch Central Plains civilization craftsmanship, but also had the foreign style of some ethnic minorities.
Valley collapse
South Vietnam is indeed a special country.
People of that era, that is, starting from the late Qin Dynasty, believed that jade could preserve corpses from decaying, and this idea became even more popular in the Han Dynasty.
At the end of the Qin Dynasty and the beginning of the Han Dynasty, there were already signs that jade clothes were used in burials. For example, Zhao Wei, the owner of the tomb of King Wen of Nanyue, wore a silk jade clothes.
It is the earliest complete set of silk jade clothes that our country has seen so far.
It is even about 10 years earlier than the golden jade garment worn by Liu Sheng, Prince Jing of Zhongshan.
Now Chen Wenzhe has several jade clothes with gold threads and jade clothes with silver threads in his hands, but this does not mean that he does not want to add another one to his collection.
Looking at the flashback scene carefully, it turns out that the kings of the South Vietnam Kingdom should all be buried with jade robes.
Unfortunately, the tomb of Zhao Tuo, the founding king of South Vietnam, has never been found.
Since a tomb of the Nanyue King has been discovered in Yangcheng, the tomb of Zhao Tuo, the first generation of Nanyue King, and even the tomb of the third generation of Nanyue King are also near Yangcheng.
At this time, Chen Wenzhe remembered that it seemed that the tomb of King Ming in South Vietnam had also been discovered?
Some large tombs of the Han Dynasty have been discovered in Yangcheng, and there are also some exquisite jade ornaments among the funerary objects.
Experts once suspected that it was the tomb of a certain Nanyue king, but there was no evidence. Some even thought it was the tomb of Zhao Tuo.
However, some experts later concluded based on the jade sword ornaments unearthed in the tomb that the tomb should be the tomb of Zhao Yingqi, the third king of South Vietnam recorded in history books, not the tomb of Zhao Tuo.
Therefore, where the real tomb of Zhao Tuo is is still an unsolved mystery.
Since they are in China, it is naturally impossible for Chen Wenzhe to dig privately, but it is still possible to help the national archeology.
Maybe the country will be able to reward him with something by then. Even if he doesn't need the treasures unearthed by archeology, it's okay to reward him with some policies.
Therefore, now that the tomb of the fourth king of Nanyue Kingdom has been discovered, Chen Wenzhe is still very excited.
Of course, his ultimate goal was still the first Nanyue King, because there was a custom of grand burials in that period. Besides, Zhao Tuo, the first Nanyue King, was really a legend.
He called himself the "Emperor Wu of South Vietnam" and once sent troops to attack the Xiangsha Kingdom.
Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty died in the fourth year of Jianyuan at the age of 103 and was buried in Panyu.
However, later generations knew that he was buried in Yangcheng, but no one could find his tomb.
It is reported that after Zhao Tuo's death, the funeral was arranged by Zhao Hu, the second generation of Nanyue King.
In order to keep his tomb intact, he spent a lot of effort.
Many archaeologists in later generations analyzed that although Zhao Tuo's cemetery was selected by himself during his lifetime, there were many illusions and fog during the actual burial, making others unaware of the location of Zhao Tuo's tomb.
A large number of documents record that Zhao Tuo set up several tombs after his death, and the funeral car departed from four gates at the same time, so people do not know the exact location of his real tomb.
"Yuedong Xinyu" said that Zhao Tuo's mausoleum is on Baiyun Mountain: "It is said that Zhao Tuo, the king of South Vietnam, was buried in Yushan Mountain, Yangcheng. From Jilonggang in the north to Tianjing, the mountains and ridges are connected, and they are all called Tuo's tomb."
For more than two thousand years, there have been different opinions on the exact location of Zhao Tuo's tomb.
It is mainly said that his tomb was located in the southwest, west, northwest, north and northeast of the ancient Panyu City.
The ancient Pan Yucheng was built by Bu Zhi, the governor of Jiaozhou of the Wu State during the Three Kingdoms period. It was probably located in the area south of Yuehua Road, north of Wenming Road, west of Cangbian Road, and east of Jixiang Road in today's Yangcheng City.
