1193 Riverside on the Cliff

Xia Zhaoyi didn't want to escape at all.

She chased out of Zhaishuiling just to touch this group of people.

The wound on the arm was not shallow, and the opponent's weapon was too sharp. Blood seeped into the clothes of the upper arm, and there was severe pain at the slightest touch.

She found some herbs nearby, chewed them, applied them to the wound, and then tore off the corners of her clothes and wrapped them around it.

Although the left side is where the heart is, her right hand is far better at whipping than her left hand, so she had to sacrifice her left arm at that time.

After briefly treating the wound, Xia Zhaoyi looked up at the surrounding tall trees. Before she could find a satisfactory hiding spot, she heard another burst of barking.

She paused and whispered: "You're still here?!"

Turning around, she saw the same big black dog that seemed to have been born from the same litter as the big black dog just now, standing a hundred steps away, barking at her location, the barking getting louder and louder, the sound shaking the forest.

Xia Zhaoyi immediately turned around and ran forward.

"Woof! Woo--woof!"

The big black dog immediately chased me.

In order to preserve his physical strength, Xia Zhaoyi did not use all his strength.

But the big black dog tried its best to bite her.

Just when the big black dog was about to catch up with her, Xia Zhaoyi suddenly touched the big tree and used her strength to kick up. As light as a flying swallow, she climbed up the tree in the blink of an eye.

The big black dog barked "woof, woof, woof" below, and tried to come up, scratching the tree with its front paws.

Xia Zhaoyi ignored it, climbed towards the other side of the big tree, and walked directly on the treetop.

Two swordsmen ran quickly from a distance. They were not the two people she had fought with just now, but two new faces.

Following the barking of the dog, they came quickly.

But once they got close, they didn't dare to act rashly, for fear of being plotted by him or being trapped by an agency.

Black Tiger called from this tree to another tree. The two swordsmen drew their swords and stared at it closely.

Suddenly a strong wind blew up, the trees swayed, and leaves fell from the treetops. There was violent movement in the big tree behind Black Tiger, and the two swordsmen looked subconsciously.

It was a large branch that had been chopped off by a dagger. As the wind moved in the forest, the remaining connecting parts were broken, and a large branch and leaf collapsed from the top.

"No!" A swordsman suddenly felt a terrible sense of crisis, turned around quickly, and swung a long whip in an instant.

He hurriedly raised his sword to parry, but the barb on the whip still scratched his face, along his chin to his left ear, and the barb tore a broken and twisted line of blood.

The swordsman quickly covered his face and retreated, while his companions stepped forward to fight.

The swordsman gritted his teeth in pain. Looking at the girl's light and vigorous movements, he was shocked to realize that she did not get off the tree at the moment when they were distracted, but before they were distracted, when the wind was blowing.

Her speed is so fast that even a keen hound cannot keep up with her reaction.

After a moment of slowing down, the swordsman rushed forward and joined in with his sword in hand.

The whistle pierced the sky. Li Simei and Lin Wumei, who were looking for boats on the riverside and planning to take action, looked up towards the mountain.

"It's Wuwei's gale whistle!" Lin Wumei said.

"Could something happen?" Li Simei said uneasily.

"Nothing should happen to them," Lin Wumei looked at her, "Wuwei's secret guards have been protecting him secretly."

"You know everything." Li Simei said in a neutral tone.

"However, if there is a secret guard, why would he blow the whistle?" Lin Wumei said.

Li Simei thought for a while and suddenly said: "Not good!"

She immediately turned around and ran towards the road up the mountain in the distance.

"Where are you going?!" Lin Wumei followed.

"No matter what happens or not, Lu Wuwei will not care about Brother Zeng and Third Brother Lin! If nothing happens, forget it. If something happens, Brother Zeng and Third Brother Lin will die first!" Li Simei shouted.

Lin Wumei was frightened by what she said, so she also speeded up.

Just as their backs disappeared on the road up the mountain, beside the long bamboo rafts on the river bank, a broad palm suddenly stretched out from the water and grabbed a piece of bamboo raft.

Immediately, Ye Zheng's water broke and he gasped for air.

He looked up and looked around. There were fewer people here, but about half a mile east along the river bank, that place was particularly lively.

Soon, Ye Zheng discovered that the thick gray smoke rising in the air did not look like cooking smoke.

"Is it on fire?" he murmured.

The water surface about ten feet behind him broke open, and a soldier emerged, floating on the water and gasping for air.

"Where is the young master!" Ye Zheng turned around and called.

The soldier said tiredly: "It seems that someone's leg is cramped, and the general went to get him!"

Soldiers came out of the water one after another. In order to swim, all the soldiers took off their armor and entered the water lightly.

Ye Zheng didn't see Shen Lie, so he was worried and said to the person next to him: "I'll go down and look for him! Don't go far, just rest here!"

After speaking, without waiting for anyone else to respond, he took a deep breath and sank again.

At the same time, following the countercurrent of the river to the north, Shen Lie and a soldier dragged another dying soldier ashore.

The soldiers who were working together to rescue people were gasping for air on the ground and were exhausted.

Shen Lie checked the other soldier and after confirming that he was fine, he stood up and looked at the surrounding terrain.

The tidal flat they were on was only a small area, and the surrounding weeds were as tall as a human being. There were dense old trees a hundred steps away, breaking through the earth and rocks, and not a single human habitation could be seen.

It can be seen that the place where they landed is completely different from Ye Zheng and the others.

"Master," the soldier who was co-rescuing the man struggled on the ground, "do you want to take a short rest before swimming eastward from the water?"

Shen Lie looked back at him before he came out of the water. His fair complexion was even whiter, and his facial features were deep and handsome. In the dim daylight without sunrise, he seemed to be shining.

"There is no way here, so this is the only way." Shen Lie said.

Or, if they are lucky during this period, they can catch a fishing boat passing by and have someone take them aboard.

Just then, a dog barked.

The three of them looked up into the sky.

There was more than one dog, and another dog seemed to be running in the distance, "barking, barking, barking" all the way.

The bark is thick and ferocious, definitely not an ordinary dog.

Apart from the barking of ferocious dogs, there was also the faint sound of human voices.

"General, there seems to be a fight up there!" said the soldiers who were working together to save people.

Shen Lie frowned lightly and looked up.

This place is far away from the place where the movement came from. The vertical distance should be at least fifteen feet, and these sounds do not come from the edge of the cliff.

Suddenly, the two ferocious dogs ran towards the south again, continuing to bark as they ran, far away from the river bank where they were.

But not long after it was quiet, a female voice suddenly wailed, and the cry came from afar: "Brother Zeng! Third Brother Lin!!"

"It's a woman!" the soldiers who were working together to save the people exclaimed, "General, is this woman's brother bitten by a dog? Is she in danger?!"

Shen Lie frowned: "The eldest brother and third brother she calls do not have the same surname."

Due to folk customs and worldliness, ordinary women rarely worship several elder brothers with different surnames at the same time.

The soldiers who worked together to rescue people thought back and said, "Yes, it seems they are indeed not the same one."

"I'll go take a look," Shen Lie said in a deep voice, "You take good care of him."

"Yes, General!"
