Chapter 1091 Siege of Attica (1)

Standard Terra Calendar,954.M41

Extreme star field, Demeter star field, Pandora galaxy, Banishing star

Mathias, the knight captain and heir of the Dupont delin family, is trying his best to keep his spirit in a highly concentrated state.

He was firmly restrained in the mechanical throne of his knight, the Scorpion Stinger, with the neural socket on the throne inserted into his skull augmenter, and the plastic-steel composite straps hugging his body tightly.

The Knight itself, a giant humanoid war machine, was also locked in its armor. It was one of three looming metal giants occupying the landing deck of the transport ship.

For this battle, the entire family returned to the battleship in orbital space for a week to repair, and when they go into battle again, they will go straight to the core of the battlefield.

The knights and their steeds will ride to the battlefield on four dedicated landing ships, while Mathias, his father, Archduke Olga, and another brother Offor will ride on the same ship.

Everything is fine, but Mathias has a little trouble personally, mainly because he has to control a knight mecha that originally has an owner. It is also a relatively big challenge for knights who are not very experienced.

The first is that the knight in the throne will feel a sense of disorientation. It is a bit like a person standing with his back to the curtain, knowing that behind it are crowded dozens of whispering strangers who may reach out to grab them at any time.

He held his shoulder, but there was nothing.

Or, it's like staring into a mirror and looking at the reflection of your own eyes in the mirror.

The feeling of being lost is followed by the feeling of dislocation, like embracing countless thoughts and dreams, only to endure the confusion caused by realizing that none of these mental fragments are one's own.

His efforts to rationalize this feeling only made his nausea worse.

But Mathias must tighten his nerves and fight against all the strange feelings. If he can't even overcome his physical obstacles before the battle, or control his throne, how can he win a real battle on the glorious battlefield?

He knew that his brothers were not all satisfied with him becoming the successor, and many were waiting for him to make a mistake.

Moreover, he didn't want Ofuer to have the satisfaction of seeing him fail.

"Madias, an inspiring dive, isn't it?"

O'Full's voice crackled on the communication network.

Of course, he was excited.

"Yes."

Mathias reluctantly said through gritted teeth.

"Ha! I hear a little discomfort in your voice, Mathias?"

"Thank you...for your concern, brother, not at all."

Mathias replied, pressing his gloved fist to his lips.

But the strange feeling still existed, and his knight's machine soul responded with a sarcastic internal gear rotation, and a slight vibration passed through the steel plate of its body and was transmitted to Mathias.

“No gossip”

A firm and old voice came.

"Little boy, we are about to enter a war zone, don't joke around."

"Sorry, father."

Orfur's voice grew humble, and his knight, the Breaker, tilted his helmet to the hum of his servo motors.

"I won't be distracted."

At this time, Mathias's thoughts were interrupted. The soft emerald light in the knight's cockpit flashed an angry red, and a shrill bell rang through the landing deck of the airborne capsule. Every knight's ears were ringing through the battle.

The audio receiver on the suit shell picked up.

Under the chants of the Mechanic Priest, the landing thrusters were started in sequence, further increasing the pressure.

Mathias began his final checks, a flood of information flowing through his neural sockets as he communicated with the Stinger.

Runes scrolled across his retinas, and his vision expanded to accommodate everything the Knight's external perception array could see. To an untrained mind, this would be a violent and overwhelming experience, a falsehood.

Sensory and maddening mechanical violations.

For Mathias, this is an improvement.

First there was a surge of adrenaline, and then it focused on a bright spot. Those strange sensations disappeared, and at the same time the webbing and belts wrapping him became tight.

His body became steel and clay, his heart beat like a thundering plasma furnace, and his senses became augurs and loading shunts.

It was at that moment that Mathias became one with his knight, and he knew he longed for battle.

Although there is still some sense of alienation, this can only be resolved with time.

"Two minutes countdown!"

The landing ship tilted slightly, and it was shocked by the artillery bombardment outside the field of vision.

The spacecraft drew a long and wide curve in the atmosphere and flew towards the landing area. Even the center of gravity of the heavy knight mecha drifted along with it.

The armor made a slender scream under the filling clamp, and the huge machinery shook, making both of Mathias's perceptions blurred.

Suddenly, a big hole was blown out of the wall, and the scattered debris scratched the tiny soldiers. Fortunately, no knight mecha was hit.

The dazzling fireworks of the battle were reflected into the spacecraft from the cracks. A terrifying hell flying dragon was fighting with more than a dozen aircraft of different colors. The armor all over its body was in pieces, and it was not far from destruction.

"...Forge my sword with my blood."

Mathias's teeth were chattering, but he remained extremely calm.

Then, everything came to an abrupt stop. The strong impact shocked everyone on the ship. The knights fell to their knees, and the soldiers all fell on their backs. The shock wave even passed through Mathias' metal body.

The giant hinges began to move, and the hatches at the bow and stern of the landing ship were slowly opening.

They must act quickly because they are now vulnerable to attack and the knights will die in the landing ship without a fight.

However, the door moves very slowly.

After waiting anxiously, the hatch finally opened completely with great difficulty.

All the restraints on the knight's arms, legs and torso fell off, and the connecting cables were also disconnected.

Just outside the cabin, the fleet's fierce bombardment rained down like raindrops, and all the enemy troops were driven out of the landing zone.

"Boys!"

cried Grand Duke Olga.

"Go out into battle!"

As the great bipedal war machines broke free from their shackles and prepared for battle, gas spurted from hissing waters and rune locks flashed between amber and green, the Mechanic-Priests began to offer their final prayers, their voices rising from before

The low mood gradually turned into a high mood.

"The reactor power is 100%, and the sacred equation is being realized. Praise the God of All Machines, praise the Omnisiah who walks among us, and praise the driving force that drives all things!"

What the machine soul needs at this time is no longer comfort, but encouragement and excitement!

In the shadows at the edge of the cave-like deck, the electric brazier ignited a blazing flame. Mathias was shrouded in the thick plates of the landing ship's shell and heard a burst of automatic horn sound, low and magnificent.
