Chapter 1129 Dark Heart (Part 1)

The excavation went smoothly, and three hours later, Inquisitor Leonard Meyers was ready to lead the team into the biggest rift, while Melissa was left on it.

She observed two teams gathered at the edge of the pit, all of which were experienced mercenaries and storm soldiers. Not to mention that they could have the combat effectiveness of Astarte, but they could deal with most physical threats.

They hooked up with the speed down cable and entered the deep pit, fully armed, ready to fight at any time.

The Inquisition Squad quickly jumped into the pit, and Leonard Meyers, as the commander, entered the cave last, while the others stood guard at the entrance.

It was pitch black below, and Leonard Meyers began to jump off the stone wall.

Did the stone wall twitch under his boots? Did his heels sink in, as if stepping on the flesh? Did he twist like a snake nest?

No, none of this happened.

He hoped that he could discover something, but in fact there was nothing.

However, he still felt a primitive disgust keenly.

He descended for more than ten meters, jumped from the wall, and landed on a wide rocket, where two teams were waiting.

Below, the pit was trapped in a quiet darkness, and the rocket on the wall was a prominent terrace.

"Everyone is cheered up."

Leonard Meyers looked at the entrance.

“We are all serving Him, and we must not fail.”

Other aspects of the building's entrance facade are just as disturbing, and Leonard Meyers did not know whether he was facing a window or a doorway, which rose into a pointed arch, but with asymmetric sides, curved and crossed.

Looking straight at it, the entrance looks like a crack in a stone. Looking from the corner of your eye, it seems to be a natural crack.

The arch is narrow and has a slight inclination to the vertical direction, and it took the judge a certain time to browse the complete appearance.

“This road is not open.”

The arch is an incremental line, and the sides eventually intersect and shrink into a slit - it is just a scam.

"This is impossible, sir."

A technical priest entourage said affirmatively.

"That must be a crack."

"No."

Another man held the same opinion as the judge, and his bionic prosthetic eyes swept across the surface of the building without making any buzzing sound.

The highly mechanized mercenary then adjusted the wavelength of the prosthetic eye to adapt to the environment of insufficient light and amplified his sight.

"I believe that the Judge is right, and the cracks have become part of the decoration and continue to extend upwards."

The technician also turned his artificial eye to the arch, doubting:

"This building is divided into two floors?"

"It's worse than that."

Leonard Meyers pointed from left to right to the other openings, each with its own unique shape, as if it had been melted after it was built, and gaps similar to the arches could be seen in the dark.

The facade initially looked seamless, but after careful inspection, it was a tiny gap net, which could be vaguely guessed as a three-dimensional parquet structure.

"How is this... possible?"

The Technological Priest said again, but now his denial is an expression of fear, and this construction process is a masterpiece.

“It was originally built on a hillside and was later supported by a sunken crust.”

The window sill is located at the widest point in the center of the opening, with its edge being a curved conical cylinder that is twice as high as that of the Space Marine.

It looked like a huge fang that reached into the empty air of the pit, and the Technological Priest took a few steps to check it out. His servo arm turned on the lights to illuminate the black stones, illuminating the surrounding similar structures.

It looks like a spreading crack, but unless the aesthetic itself has power, nothing can stop the thing from falling into pieces.

"Sir, I can't think of any reasonable explanation for what we see."

"This is a subspace influence."

A one-eyed old mercenary answered like this.

“We don’t have to be surprised by this area.”

Another mercenary expressed a similar view

"This existence is not a problem. This is a designed organizational form. A certain subspace power shapes this shape...and no matter what, as long as it appears in the physical universe, it can be destroyed."

On the other side, several storm soldiers were jumping down and now returning to the rocket, the glitter of their helmets illuminated the darkness.

"How about it?"

The Storm is actually the most trusted force of Inquisitor Leonard Meyers. His attitude towards other mercenaries is as always, and he refuses to provide anything beyond basic etiquette, but he will give more respect to the Stormmen.

The leader of the Stormtroopers shook his head.

"Sir, they have the same structure as the whole rift, but some structures are still buried, and we have no more information."

“There is no more important crevices than elsewhere?”

"No, just the opposite..."

The Stormtrooper Captain hesitated for a moment.

"Each opening is completely different from the others, but I'm impressed by the replicas they are also copied."

"copy?"

“I don’t want to say that this building was created through replication.”

"But that's what you said just now."

"Like I said, I don't want to say that."

Leonard Meyers grunted.

"I'll take a look."

He walked towards the crack and the squad followed him.

Passing through the crack is like passing through a thin film, Leonard Meyers enters a narrow tunnel, and the team enters a wide room.

From nothing to something, there seems to be only a faint light inside. The dark red liquid from blood-like water fills the entire space, embellishing the faint light from the outside.

The ceiling is a huge dome, with all the pillars at a certain inclination to the vertical direction, the walls are located two hundred meters away, and after advancing fifty meters, it is still empty.

The rear wall corresponds to the rise of the plateau, and behind them, rock walls are scattered in rows of twisted arched entrances.

"Where is the bird Buyi?"

“Nothing was found.”

The technical priest answered immediately.

“No energy source?”

"No, either"

"Then do you have anything to tell me?"

"Uh... sir, even in this space, I can't make a universal explanation, the readings are contradictory and constantly changing."

Leonard Meyers nodded.

"Some kind of force shapes here, and what he creates is stable, so we will continue to search until we find the root of it all."

They continued to move forward, and near the back wall, there was a ramp leading to the next level.

The slope is steep and people follow the ramp to enter a room that is the same as above, where there is also a ramp that takes them to another room, and there is also a ramp.
