Chapter 199 Dark Tide (2)

"Fire!"

The narrow range of movement in the tunnel forced the legal officers to adopt a multi-layered formation. The legal officers in the front row had to kneel down to make room for shooting for those in the back row.

The next second, holy flames spurted out from the shotgun's muzzle, while the harsh sound of the bolt pistol filled the entire cave.

The bullets killed some of the incoming alien monsters, and also set off vortexes of gravel on the tunnel floor and walls.

The corpses kept piling up, but the enemies kept coming, the genestealers hacking at the corpses of their kin, eager to get closer to their prey.

The legal officers knew that they could not flinch at this moment. The tiny bullets ejected from the muzzle spread among the monster's flashing carapace, and the enemies who were hit screamed in pain in the darkness.

"What sound is this-"

Suddenly, amidst the arbitrator's surprised voice, a monster that was larger than its kind broke through the defense line. Its huge claws grabbed one of the legs of the arbitrator standing in the front row and dragged him on the ground.

.

The Arbitrator immediately raised his other foot and kicked the monster's round head with his boot, but it was not moved at all. Instead, it opened its big mouth to reveal rows of black, moist teeth.

"careful."

A legal officer lit the flamethrower that had been prepared, and while speaking, sprayed angry flames at the monster.

The monster wrapped in flames released its prey, and the Arbiter quickly knelt down, raised his bolt pistol and joined in the volley.

The beast struggled and rolled under the fierce fire, and finally fell to the ground and died, its charred body becoming another corpse piled on the ground.

"I'd like another grenade, Arbitrator."

The arbitrator nodded in agreement and threw a fragmentation grenade into the tunnel. The legal officers covered their faces to avoid the impact of the explosion.

boom--!

When the shaking subsided, they saw injured believers trying to climb out of the rubble, their bodies riddled with shrapnel.

The legal officers killed the enemies one by one with incomparable hatred, and then continued to advance to the other end of the tunnel.

Half an hour later, the team stopped in a spacious room to rest for a while.

They have discovered several such rooms in the complex underground mines, allowing them to temporarily escape from the narrow tunnels.

"According to the route calculation, we should be not far from the exit."

The arbitrator took a breath, and a team member was bending down to apply healing ointment to the wound on his leg.

"We have killed more than a hundred of these monsters."

"There are so many of them that the casualties are minimal."

The one who responded to him was the commando leader leaning against the door of the room.

"It's like an infection spreading."

"Then we will cleanse that wound."

The arbitrator replied firmly and stood up.

"Come on, we have to move on."

A group of legal officers walked down the next tunnel. As long as they passed through that area, they would reach a secret exit in the mining area, from where they could return to the safe area as quickly as possible.

It had been half an hour since their last encounter with the aliens, and the conditions of the passage here were obviously much better.

Since there was no need to stop to clear debris on the road, the team moved forward very quickly, and the morale of the legal officers became high.

Suddenly, the Arbitrator stopped and raised his fists in the air, while the Arbitrators lined up behind him.

He seemed to hear something moving in front of him, a figure moving in the shadows...

"Stay alert."

The arbiter whispered, and everyone raised their weapons and entered a state of preparation for war.

Soon, a huge figure appeared at the end of the tunnel, much larger than any monster they had seen before.

The Arbiter had heard of mutants much larger than humans, but he had never fought one personally.

The figure was moving quickly, but it didn't have the animal-like frenzy of other alien monsters.

"No shooting allowed."

The arbiter ordered, and the legal officers obeyed.

He didn't intend to disturb the beast.

Soon, the huge beast disappeared into the darkness, but the arbiter suddenly realized a problem.

This place should obviously be very close to the safe zone, so why are there such dangerous creatures?

So is there a possibility.

Has the safe zone fallen?

He shared his thoughts with the legal officers, and everyone agreed that considering that they were not secretive when they set out, the enemy had probably set up an ambush.

"Maybe we have to change a road. If we go out from the branch road here, we will reach the Rust Area. There is a group of transportation vehicles there maybe..."

As he spoke, the arbitrator's voice gradually became quieter, because he found that the leader of the assault team suddenly faced the depths of the passage and concentrated his attention.

Then, everyone heard a familiar crawling sound coming from the front.

"here we go again."

He complained lowly and raised his pistol.

Another group of Genestealers came from the darkness. The weapons of the Arbitrators roared and blasted a gap in the charging enemy group, but soon more enemies came up.

The team members turned on the flamethrower, spraying purifying flames at the oncoming enemy group, but its fuel had already been used up in the previous fierce battle.

The monsters charged desperately under the fierce fire, as if there was some force more powerful than their original ferocity driving them.

The light and flames made them furious, and they attacked the legal team as a whole.

"Retreat to the room!"

The Arbitrator shouted, and he and the legal officers retreated back while maintaining a tight formation and continuing to fire.

The team leader followed behind and knocked down the rocks on the roof of the tunnel to delay the monster's attack.

After arriving at the room, they immediately began to defend themselves, and the enemies immediately followed them and swarmed in from the entrance.

The Arbitrators began to pour out their firepower again, knocking down the enemies as fast as the monsters came at them.

Then, the incoming enemy group dispersed, and a figure covered in dust appeared in the tunnel.

The genestealer crawls like a beast, but this figure walks upright like a human, wearing a richly decorated robe with a mark engraved on it - a brass-colored insect with a curled body.

However, his head is completely different from humans. The swollen back of the head is three times the size of a normal human skull, and the three thick purple blood vessels bulging on it are beating as if alive.

"You are not welcome here."

The monster roared in high Gothic.

The voice went straight into his mind, and the Arbitrator immediately felt the psychic power of this hybrid.

His body began to flinch, and the invading force was more unbearable than any physical pain.

"This place belongs to the Four-Armed Emperor! Our rise is a foregone conclusion, and any resistance is meaningless."

As he approached, he slithered forward as if he were standing on a swarm of poisonous snakes.

"Alien scum!"

The squad leader roared angrily and pointed the gun in his hand at the monster.

The monster raised one hand, and the team leader suddenly froze, his eyes became increasingly cloudy, and he lowered the weapon in his hand.

"Did you see it? You are powerless to stop us! We are endless, we are righteous, and we are the heirs of this world..."

“F**k that a** thing!!”

With a roar, a grenade suddenly flew from the arbiter's hand towards the monster.

The moment the other legal officers reacted and hid in the bunker, the explosion shook the whole room and covered them with gravel and dust.

The alien hybrid disappeared in a burst of piercing screams, as if swallowed by dust.
