Extreme Star Territory, Nastrum Star Territory, Heart of Midnight
This is a planet fragment floating in the boundless darkness, almost forgotten by the entire galaxy, but it once had a prominent reputation 10,000 years ago.
Located on the inner edge of the Ghoul Stars, Nostrum is a planet in perpetual darkness, covered by tainted clouds and eternal solar eclipses. Only the planet's nobility and elite can afford artificial lighting.
Murder, extortion, and theft were rampant on Nostrum, and the elite hired thugs to oppress and control the lower class, which consisted of a large number of foundry workers. This was the closest thing to law and order on the planet at the time.
Violence, including interpersonal relationships and suicide, controls population numbers.
Since the strata of Nostrum contain extremely high-value wealth, especially large amounts of naturally occurring fine gold deposits, the mineral trade has brought huge wealth to Nostrum, but at the cost of huge chemical plants and metal smelting.
The plant left huge scars on the planet's surface and poisonous clouds that forever shrouded the sky.
The planet and its moon Teneb orbit synchronously, which causes the planet to be in the darkness caused by the solar eclipse even in midsummer. Such environmental conditions cause the residents of Nostrum to have pale, albino-like complexions.
Their skin and dark eyes allow them to adapt to and survive in almost complete darkness.
But it is most famous for being the home planet of the infamous Night Lords Legion and the hometown of the Primarch Konrad Curze.
Unfortunately, Konrad Curze did not like his home planet, and could even be said to hate it. However, when the Legion returned to Nastrum for the last time, news came to the Legion about the regime of Imperial Governor Basilus.
This has led to crime becoming rampant again.
At that time, Konrad Curze was almost crazy. He ordered the fleet to enter orbit, and their weapons were aimed at their homeland.
Subsequently, countless light spears and torpedoes poured down from orbit, hitting the only weak spot in the earth's crust that may have been caused by Curze's conservation capsule or large-scale adamantium mining, and reached the center of the earth, triggering a chain of explosions in the center of the earth.
The reaction completely destroyed Nasturm, and the entire planet eventually fell into pieces, and the largest fragment was called the Heart of Midnight by later generations.
Ten thousand years later, even this name was completely forgotten by people, and now it is just an unknown planetary fragment.
But no one would have thought that there would be a garden inside this lifeless planet fragment!
The Garden of Giant Forest is one of these places. Forty green giant trees stand upright under the sky of the rock formations. The branches and leaves of the ancient trees that have never seen the sun are gently blown by the never-ending breeze from the ventilation vents.
There was a slight sway, but otherwise the forest was silent and peaceful.
Suddenly, a tall figure appeared, wearing a robe as black as ink. The sound caused by stepping on dead leaves was extremely clear in the silence.
"you are late."
Under the big tree in the center of the courtyard, stood another figure in a light green robe, equally tall.
The man in black robe then let out a deep laugh.
"This is the first time I see you so anxious? Are you anxious to kill each other and your compatriots for that secret again?"
"no."
The man in green robe shook his head and placed his armored palm on the tree trunk.
"There are more important things that need to be dealt with right now."
"Then let's do it one by one. I have already made a decision. That person meets expectations and is worthy of our action."
"Are you really so sure?"
"Ha, haven't you seen him too? You should know very well what our mission is. He is a key link. We have been lurking for long enough. Time is not on our side and the future is full of variables.
"
The man in green robe seemed to be lost in thought. After a few minutes of silence, he spoke:
"I have met him, but I have only seen him. I am not sure how deeply he is involved...and I don't have time to plan for the future, although the future is the reason why we gather together."
The man in black robe walked to another big tree and leaned on the trunk.
"Also, I have been laughed at by those damn Eldar several times. I don't want to have contact with them anymore. I'll let you do it next time."
Hearing this, the man in green robe nodded.
"Hypocrisy is their nature that cannot be eradicated. The fall of their empire has destroyed countless worlds. We cannot trust them too much... but they are staunch enemies of Chaos and have helped us many times for this. For the time being, we have to
Cooperate with them, and you are the best person to deal with them."
The man in black robe just smiled and didn't respond.
The two fell into silence again, with only their faint breathing remaining in the air.
In the end, it was the man in green robe who broke the dead silence.
"You've gone to wake that thing up."
The man in green robe said with a warning tone:
"Do you have the authority to make this decision alone? Would anyone else agree?"
"They will agree."
The man in black robe nodded slightly, as if staring at the man in green robe.
"My question is, can you?"
"If you insist on your own opinions and speculations, why do you ask for my opinion?"
"Because in this small group, you are my equal. We were once rivals, but now we work together, and the decisions we make together will have more weight."
"So you don't have confidence in this decision."
"The Eagle has always been on his side, and now the last person is about to be filled, and the new members may tip the balance."
"If you want me to trust you, then there can be no secrets between us."
"I agree, I will tell you about that when I have time."
The two then began to walk side by side. Although they were not walking fast, their breathing was very heavy.
"Although we have avoided everyone's eyes and ears now, those people stationed on the Titan satellite are not cheap. They seem to have noticed our existence in recent years. Although they have never officially traced it, it will definitely be a trouble in the future.
"
They came to a clearing between the trees. A wooden bench made of split trees was placed in the middle. Water columns and flickering environmental consoles at the edge of the forest further reduced the natural nature of the forest.
The two sat down at the same time, and the bench sank due to the pressure generated when the two giants sat down.
"Abaddon is about to start his thirteenth expedition. Those people on Titan are very busy and cannot spare much power to track us down for the time being."
Hearing the words of the man in black robe, the man in green robe sighed softly.
"It seems you are very confident. Have you contacted anyone else?"
"Everyone has been contacted. Dogs, snakes, crows, oxen, horses, and dragons have all responded to the call. Only the wolf and the ghost are missing."
"Since you've done everything, I have nothing to say."
The man in green robe immediately stood up, took out a golden key from his arms, threw it to the man in black robe, and said lightly:
