According to current parlance, all major teams are divided into three levels.
Let me tell you in the order of the start of the game.
The lowest level is the 8 teams that were eliminated from the auditions, which is the challenger group. According to the ranking, they should be ranked 17-24.
The major competition has officially begun. The 8 teams in these challengers group will need to compete with the 9th-16th place in the previous competition, that is, the legendary group, in a Swiss-made 16-to-8 competition to determine the new legendary group.
After the 16-to-8 round, 8 of the 24 major teams were eliminated, leaving 16 teams in the new legendary group.
The new legendary group has started, and 8 more teams are from the challenger group, and there are eight teams that are ranked 1-8 from the previous session. As members of the championship group, they can directly get the quota for the legendary group.
These 16 teams will then play a 16-to-8 round with the same rules to determine the final major quarterfinals.
These last eight majors are the members of the new championship group. They can play directly from the top 16 in the next competition.
In other words, there are a total of 24 participating teams in each major, and 16 of them do not need to qualify.
The remaining 8 teams need to qualify for the major.
To put it more strictly, the real main draw of a major begins only when it enters the legendary group stage. The 24-to-16 is just a pre-selection stage for a major.
The previous Asian rmr was just to qualify for the major.
Let’s benchmark against a few groups:
Challenger group: ll, fight all the way from Asia rmr and get the precious major qualification.
Legend Group: vc, the top 9-16 of the previous session, directly got the place in the Challenger Group.
Championship group: aka, the top 8 of the previous tournament started directly from the top 16.
The Challenger Group and Legend Group competitions are all Swiss-based, which means you will always encounter opponents with the same record as you.
The Swiss system is relatively simple, with three wins to advance and three losses to eliminate. Usually every game is bo1, but once it involves elimination or promotion, it is bo3.
All games after the top 8 are bo3 single elimination, that is, if you win, you stay, if you lose, you leave, =.
Majo's most special game, he can only have the audience in the quarterfinals.
In other words, only in the top eight will you have an audience cheering for you offline.
ps: v.com has changed the names of these groups many times, so many people can't tell which group is at which stage. I would like to explain this. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to add them.
