Chapter 4 Old Friends (1)

After spending another noisy night of wind and snow, the aftermath of the snowstorm finally subsided, but the weather still did not clear up. The gray sky covered the vast white land, cutting off the warmth from the sun and the earth.

So although the snow has stopped and the wind has dropped a lot, the people inside are still like frozen meat locked in the freezer layer of the refrigerator. No normal person can endure this. Only one person can endure this climate.

The kind, that is, the kind of people who have really turned into a piece of frozen meat on the snowy field, such as the members of the O'Drisco Gang who died at the Adler Ranch two days ago.

Brandi actually didn't want to get up too early today, because yesterday's awakening of Death's Eye and Dutch's personal invitation to join the gang made him so excited that he didn't sleep much all night. But maybe it's because he has already formed a biological clock.

No matter how good his sleep quality is at night, he will inevitably wake up between 6:00 and 6:30 during the day, and he will never be able to go back to sleep again.

There is no other way. Now that I'm awake, let's go have a cup of coffee.

Thinking like this, Brandy walked out of the cabin. Outside the big house where the Van der Linde gang used to gather, Javier, who fought side by side yesterday, was standing outside the door holding a gun. When he saw Brandy, he greeted Brandy warmly:

"Good morning, Brandi."

"Good morning, Javier," Brandy responded, looking at Javier with some doubts, who was still on alert despite being shivering from the cold, and asked, "In such a cold day, are you standing outside?

What are you doing?"

"On duty," Javier said matter-of-factly, "The O'Drisco Gang are nearby, and Dutch said we should always be vigilant."

"That's true," Brandi nodded and said as he opened the door, "If you can't stand it, just go in and sit for a while, don't force yourself."

Javier nodded his thanks and continued to perform his duties.

Maybe because it was still early, the only people in this room were Micah, Bill and Lenny who were sleeping here.

Everyone in the gang now knows that Brandi has joined them, so compared to the polite and unfamiliar attitude of the previous two days, their attitude towards Brandi is much closer.

"Hey, Brandi," Lenny said first, "how did you sleep last night?"

"I almost fell asleep." Brandi smiled and sat next to him.

"It's understandable," Lenny nodded, "I was about the same age as you when I joined."

"Actually, I don't quite understand why you joined us now," Bill said, his voice rough, but always mixed with a hint of natural stupidity, "Look at us now, carrying a wanted order on our backs, trapped

In this hellish place of ice and snow, with little food and clothing, and not even knowing whether you can survive tomorrow, to be honest, your choice was not wise enough."

Micah sneered: "When did you have the right to say that others are not wise enough?"

"What did you say?" Bill looked at Micah with an evil look in his eyes.

"What I want to say is that you are terribly depressed right now," Micah said angrily, holding a bottle of whiskey. "I joined you because I thought you dared to fight for love, but what happened? I just ran away now.

Within a few days, you will start to be timid."

At this time, Arthur walked into the room, took the bottle of whiskey in Micah's hand, took a sip of it, and sat aside. Micah didn't care, looked at Lenny and Brandi and said, "Of course, you

Except for this nigger, and Brandi, this kid is still a baby."

"Shut up, Micah," Lenny shot back without hesitation.

"I've never seen so many bitter faces." Micah kept chattering.

It seemed that it was too cold outside, so Javier, who was originally standing guard outside the door, also opened the door and came in, approaching the fireplace to keep warm.

"I think..." Bill said in a low voice, "I think everyone is remembering... their dead companions."

"One day I die, I don't want to make such a fuss." Micah said disapprovingly.

"If you die one day," Lenny retorted, "we'll have a drink to celebrate."

For a moment, everyone present except Micah laughed. Arthur lit a cigarette and smiled silently. Bill laughed and agreed: "Hahahahaha, it's possible to have a drink to celebrate."

Micah stared at Bill who was laughing the most, stood up slowly, and asked: "Is it interesting?"

Bill still didn't realize the problem and smiled like an honest bear: "Of course."

Micah nodded, and suddenly punched Bill in the face like lightning. Bill roared and was about to rush to beat Micah, but was held tightly by the people on the side. Micah said "I am different from mediocrity"

Expression, saying: "Maybe I don't want to be teased by people like you..."

Just when the conflict was about to break out, Dutch shouted angrily from the door: "Stop! Now!"

Everyone in the room stopped and looked at Dutch.

Dutch unceremoniously accused Micah and Bill, and lectured everyone at the same time: "You two bastards know how to beat your own people, and the one who really deserves to be beaten is Colm O'Driscoe, and he must be beaten hard.

Do you want to just wait for him to come to us? Listen up, we have serious things to do, come on."

Arthur saw Dutch's plan before Dutch's lecture. He waited outside the door early. When Dutch finished his lecture, Arthur asked: "Are you sure? Dutch?"

"Yes." Dutch said without any doubt.

"Everyone has been through so much recently," Arthur advised, "We haven't even found our feet yet."

Dutch took two steps closer and said, "We don't want to be attacked by Colm O'Driscoe in the wild, let's go."

Arthur followed Dutch and said, "I know you hate him, Dutch..."

"He came for us." Dutch was very sure of his own words.

"I don't believe it." Arthur expressed doubt.

"No, you are just doubting me." Dutch approached his "Count", an albino Arabian horse, and took off a carbine repeating rifle placed on the horse to adjust it carefully.

"Dutch, I will never doubt you, but..." Arthur expressed his absolute loyalty to Dutch while expressing his opinion, "You always said that revenge is a luxury we cannot afford."

"This is the right choice, Arthur," Dutch said, handing the newly adjusted gun to Arthur, "Take this."

When Arthur took the gun, Dutch clenched his fist fiercely to express his determination: "This is not just for revenge. They are planning to rob the train, use detonators, and hold..." He took it from the saddle again.

He took off a roll of rope and handed it to Arthur. Arthur pulled it hard to test its strength out of habit, and then put it around his waist.

Dutch then said: "Colm's intelligence has always been very good, let's go."

Arthur couldn't talk to Dutch, so he could only follow him and untie the reins of his own horse tied to the stable, but he still questioned: "Do you think now is a good time to rob the train?"

"You might not mind living in deer urine and rabbit poop," Dutch said, jumping on his horse, "but I'm too old for that kind of life."

Arthur didn't say anything, but took a deep drag on the cigarette and threw it into the snow.

At this time, Brandi whispered to Arthur from the side: "Simply considering the point of allowing us people to establish a stable foothold here, we must also deal with those Austrian gang guys this time. As for whether to rob the train or not,

, it is not a priority issue for us right now.”

Arthur blew out all the smoke he had just inhaled from his nose, nodded, and said nothing.

After roughly counting the number of people in action, Dutch ordered loudly: "Mr. Matthews, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Pearson, you stay and guard the house. The O'Drisco gang is nearby. Be careful not to let them in."

My home was stolen."

"As for the others," Dutch looked at the team around him that was getting ready to go, and shouted loudly, "Guns in hand, follow me!"
