321 Celebrate the New Year at home

I haven't celebrated any birthdays this year. The little girl is still young and the adults didn't mention it. She didn't even know she was going to celebrate her birthday. Xilihutu celebrated her birthday.

But thinking about what happened in the mall yesterday, Li Manjun felt that her daughter's third birthday was quite memorable.

At least, she will always think of her daughter calling out "Go!" to stop passers-by.

This is why Zhao Yong bought five sets of clothes for his daughter yesterday, while Li Manjun left the father and daughter alone.

But because mom and dad deliberately didn't make it in advance, Niannian didn't even know that it was her birthday yesterday.

Until I came to my grandpa and grandma's house, my grandpa hugged me and asked: "Did you have a birthday cake for your birthday yesterday?"

Every year, I thought, "Huh?"

Turning around to find his parents, Zhao Yong hid in the bedroom to tidy up the bedding for tonight's sleep. Li Manjun hid in the kitchen, covering his mouth with Li Lijun and snickering, and no one said a word.

There is no need to celebrate birthdays every year, not to mention that the children don’t realize it now. The novelty of the past two years has worn off, and both Li Manjun and Zhao Yong felt a little bored. They might as well just skip it this year and save themselves the trouble.

It's just that the grandparents didn't know it and thought that their granddaughter celebrated her birthday happily.

When Li Dawei saw that the couple said nothing and were still hiding, he snorted angrily and carried his ignorant granddaughter into the room.

"Mom and dad didn't buy a cake, but grandpa gave me a big red envelope every year."

Fortunately, Wang Xiaojuan went out early to buy groceries, otherwise Li Manjun would have had multiple chestnuts on her forehead.

Li Lijun laughed softly and said: "Mom also said that she would give me a longevity egg every year. She ran out to the village to buy local eggs a long time ago."

Li Manjun simply spread his hands and smiled, "That's just right, just treat it like eating cake."

"Don't tell mom, I have a precious granddaughter and I can't bear a little grievance." Li Manjun warned her worriedly.

Li Lijun nodded to express her understanding, and she would definitely not say anything.

As for Li Dawei, in order to have a good New Year, he probably won't say anything.

This year, the family will not go to their hometown in the countryside to spend New Year's Eve, but will wait until the first day of the Lunar New Year to go.

The old man at home read a few sentences and didn't force them to go, but he felt a little unhappy in his heart.

But Li Manjun can now meet Lao Li's parents. If she goes back to her hometown for New Year's Eve dinner, she may not be able to eat at her own home. Many people in the village are waiting to call her home for dinner.

There are good and bad things about rural people. When people ask you to eat, they mean it sincerely. If you refuse too many times, others will think that you look down on them because you only have two dollars, so Li Manjun simply did not go back.

To prevent yourself from feeling uncomfortable if you go to eat, and to avoid offending others if you don’t go to eat.

Li Dawei gave the big red envelope to his granddaughter. He turned around and ran to his mother, handed it to her and said, "Mom, let it go."

Li Lijun yelled and teased her: "Give it to my aunt. I'll help you put it away every year, okay?"

Nian Nian shook his head and wanted to give it to his mother. Li Lijun stretched out her hand to pretend to take it away. The little girl became anxious and called out to her aunt.

Li Manjun blocked her sister's hand in a funny way, "Are you sorry? I want the kid's red envelope too. Go ahead and don't tease us Nian Nian."

Li Lijun made a slight grimace, and not to be outdone, Li Lijun also gave her aunt a slight grimace, and the two of them laughed together, so childish.

Li Manjun put away the red envelope handed in by her daughter, patted her little butt and asked her to go play with her grandfather.

Wang Xiaojuan prepared a lot of dishes. This year, her family bought a new refrigerator, which was full. The sisters took out the ingredients for the New Year's Eve dinner and put them away, waiting for their mother to come back to cook.

"This is the first time to celebrate the New Year at our own home. It's great." Li Lijun said with a smile.

Even working in my own home makes me feel happy.

Li Dawei was originally going to clean the house, but now that his granddaughter came for him, he handed over the work to Zhao Yong who had made the bed.

The father-in-law is guiding below, and the son-in-law is standing on the bench to clean the glass. Every year, he helps out, passing a rag to his father, or bringing a piece of tape to his grandfather to put the word "blessing" on it.

"Come, recite blessings with grandpa every year, blessings of blessings -"

Every year, carrying two little hands on his back and wearing new clothes, he stood at the door and recited to his grandfather: "Lake, lake with lake spirit——"

"Hahaha!" Zhao Yong was amused by his daughter and corrected her: "It's a blessing, not a lake."

Every year I see my grandpa, he nods encouragingly, and every year he confidently says, "Lake!"

Wang Xiaojuan walked into the courtyard of the community with a basket full of vegetables, and asked with a smile: "What lake? Vegetable lake?"

Every year I look back with surprise, “Grandma!

"

Shout very loudly.

Wang Xiaojuan only saw a small pink dumpling rolling towards her like a snowball. She panicked for a moment and quickly put down the serving basket, squatting down to catch the soft and fragrant dumpling.

"Grandma, grandma, grandma" turns into a repeater every year, and it's not enough to say it over and over again.

Wang Xiaojuan nuzzled the little cute face lovingly, "I miss grandma so much."

"Come on, grandma is going to boil red eggs for Nian Nian. They are bought from the countryside. They are freshly laid by old hens and they are still warm."

Nian Niannian took a look at her grandmother's vegetable basket. Wang Xiaojuan turned the eggs out, chose a small one and handed it to her.

Holding it in both hands, Nian Nian carefully followed her grandmother and put the eggs into the pot where her mother was boiling water in the kitchen to cook them.

Wang Xiaojuan brought all the eggs just laid by the hens at home, one for each member of the family.

The free-range eggs are not big in size, Zhao Yong can only eat one in one bite, but they are really delicious.

Li Manjun stood by the stove and asked: "Is it delicious?"

Both father and daughter replied at the same time: "It's delicious!"

"I'll give it to you." Li Manjun peeled it off and gave it to Zhao Yong. Zhao Yong looked at his daughter proudly, took it and tasted it happily.

Nian Nian snorted, but what she had on hand was also very good. She ate her own, taking small bites, sitting on the small bench, shaking her head so beautifully.

Wang Xiaojuan was very excited. While cooking, she looked back at her granddaughter to see what she was doing. She was so happy that she even farted.

Li Manjun and Li Lijun looked at each other and thought that this generational relationship was really magical. Their parents had never pampered them so much, and not even their younger brothers were treated like this.

Hmm, a little sour.

It is popular in town to have early New Year's Eve dinner. At three o'clock in the afternoon, we heard neighbors setting off cannons one after another. It was lively and a bit noisy. Anyway, Li Manjun didn't like to set off too many cannons.

But this Chinese New Year, if we don’t set off fireworks, I always feel like something is missing.

Wang Xiaojuan said that the food was ready and was ready to be served. Li Dawei asked Zhao Yong to bring the firecrackers and told his granddaughter to stay indoors and cover her ears, and the two men went out to set off the firecrackers.

Just one roll is enough, that's what it means.

The firecrackers crackled, and Nian Nian covered his ears and stepped back step by step. He was timid and loved to watch.

After the firecrackers were set off, dinner officially began.

There were not many people, but Wang Xiaojuan still prepared ten dishes, and it looked like there would be leftovers.

Li Manjun said it was a waste, and Wang Xiaojuan glared at her, "This is how we have more than enough every year. What do you young people know?"

Li Manjun peeked at Zhao Yong. Zhao Yong's eyes were comforting. My husband has the same idea as you!

Li Manjun followed her mother and said, "Okay."
