Chapter 34: Living in Peace

Daolin followed the emperor back to the hall.

"You also know that I like Taoist cuisine, and you have your own ideas. I won't force you to stay, but you must promise to come and cook for me once a month." The emperor said for himself

He poured a cup of tea and said.

Daolin nodded in agreement. After all, it is not difficult to cook for the emperor once a month.

"Okay, do you have a place to stay in the capital? Are you planning to go back to Taoism?" The emperor poured a cup of tea for Daolin and asked.

"Back to Emperor, I don't have a place to stay yet. I just arrived at Emperor yesterday, and there is a friend waiting for me at Yuzhan Mansion." Daolin respectfully took the tea cup and said.

"Well, when Tian Gao first came to the imperial capital, I arranged a property for him in the south of the city. Now that place has been idle for a long time. If you have no place to go, go there." The emperor took a sip of tea and said with a smile.

.

Dolin's eyes lit up. If possible, it would be good to have a stable foothold.

The emperor raised his hand and waved an ancient key appearing in his hand.

"This house is given to you. It is not large in area, but although it is small, it has all the necessary features and there are people who take care of it on weekdays. You should be able to move in directly. If you don't like the current furniture, you can contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs directly and ask them to give it to you.

Replace it." The emperor put the key into Daolin's hand and said.

"Thank you, Emperor. Daolin is grateful." Daolin bowed respectfully to the Emperor from the bottom of his heart.

"Okay, remember to promise me that you will come and cook for me once a month." The emperor said with a smile.

"Dolin will definitely remember it in his heart and dare not forget it." Dolin bowed again and said.

"Okay, go ahead, someone will take you to your address shortly." The emperor smiled and waved his hand.

Dolin wanted to say something when he heard this, but he didn't know how to say it.

"What's wrong? Just tell me if you have anything to say." The emperor saw it at a glance.

"What should Grandpa Wei do? I'm a little worried about him." Daolin said hesitantly.

The emperor frowned when he heard this, and kept tapping the table with his right index finger.

"I will send people to investigate this matter. Again, even the Xie Zang Society will not dare to kill him. After all, it will not be good for them to completely anger me."

Daolin exited the hall, while the middle-aged man in Tsing Yi was still waiting outside.

"The emperor has previously ordered me to take you to your address in the south of the city." The middle-aged man in green said with a slight salute.

"What do you call me sir?" Dolin replied respectfully. If others were polite to him, he would naturally be even more polite.

"Su Kangbo."

"I still have a friend in Yu Zhan Mansion, can we pick him up first?"

"On the way."

Dowling found that this man was not easy to get along with. He really didn't say a word if it was useless. He simply didn't have the syndrome, so he just followed him honestly.

After leaving the Imperial City and returning to the lively outer city, Daolin was very moved. Separated by a wall, the inside and outside were simply two worlds.

We were speechless all the way back to Yuzhan Mansion. The street in front of Yuzhan Mansion was particularly deserted. It seemed that it was because of this department that people all detoured here.

"Master Su!" The golden-armored guards of Yuzhan Mansion came over immediately after seeing Su Kangbo.

"Go and invite Mr. Daolin's friends." Su Kangbo ordered expressionlessly.

"Yes!" The guard hurriedly ran into the house to find Ji Jiu.

Daolin stood behind Su Kangbo and looked at him with some surprise. Although Su Kangbo was an official from the Imperial City, his status in Yuzhan Palace was not low. He didn't understand why the guards of Yuzhan Palace were so respectful when they saw this person.

Not long after, Qingjiu was invited out, and when he saw Dorian, a smile appeared on his face.

"Amitabha, I'm relieved that you're okay." Jijiu came to Daolin and said.

"What can I do? Let's go. I've found a place to stay. Let's go there." Dorian smiled and shook the key in his hand.

"Let's go!" Su Kangbo obviously didn't want to waste time, so he turned around and led the way.

"This benefactor is very powerful!" Jijiu whispered in Dolin's ear.

"How strong?" Dorian whispered back.

"Stronger than me, much, much better." Qingjiu replied in a low voice.

Upon hearing this, Daolin glanced at Su Kangbo who was leading the way. Although he knew that the other person's status was not low, he did not expect that Jijiu would rate his strength so highly.

"It seems that if you have the chance, you must find out what this person does." Dolin thought to himself.

After passing through most of the outer city, we finally came to a street called Tianlai Street.

"This place is close to the South City Gate and is surrounded by some businessmen in the city, so the environment is quite quiet. You shouldn't have much to do when you live here." Su Kangbo stopped in front of a two-story building and said.

Dowling looked around and found that indeed, as Su Kangbo said, except for some stalls, there were almost no other people waiting on the street.

"It should be clean inside. A servant just came to take care of it a few days ago. My task is completed, and I will return to the emperor to return to my life." Su Kangbo said with a fist in his hands, and then he was minding his own business without waiting for Daolin to say anything.

Turn around and leave.

"What a weirdo." Dolin said as he looked at Su Kangbo's retreating figure.

"Open the door quickly, I want to choose a room." Jijiu urged him impatiently.

When Dolin heard this, he opened the courtyard door with a smile and walked into the small courtyard. He immediately fell in love with it.

The entire residence is in a concave shape, facing south and receiving good lighting.

The residence is divided into two floors, with the main house and the east and west wing rooms on the first floor, and the master bedroom and two wing rooms on the second floor. There is a corridor on the second floor, where you can sit on the guardrail and overlook the entire yard.

The yard is not small, surrounded by flowers and plants, and there is a small pond in the middle with some water lilies. You can see red goldfish swimming under the water lilies.

There is a small pavilion in the southwest corner of the yard. There is a stone table and four stone benches in the pavilion. There is a chessboard carved on the stone table.

"This place is really nice, how did you find it?" Qingjiu asked curiously.

"The emperor said that my great-grandfather lived here when he came to the imperial capital, and later moved to the current Taoist home." Daolin said as he opened the door of the main house.

Entering the door is the living room, which is decorated with exquisite furniture. The furniture is of high quality. On the east side of the house is the study room. A landscape screen separates the study room and the living room. On the west side are rows of bookshelves with densely packed books.

.

The stairs leading to the second floor are in the northwest corner of the house.

"Let's go up and have a look." Qingjiu couldn't wait to run up.

Dorian followed him with a smile. The stairs were very solid and had not decayed at all from decades of inactivity.

Climbing the stairs to the second floor, there is also a living room with several shelves and bottles and jars on them, which are not attractive to Dorian or Qingjiao.

They prefer the corridor outside the living room on the second floor.

"The scenery is really nice from here," Qingjiu said, holding up the guardrail of the corridor.

"As long as you like it. From now on in the imperial capital, this will be our brother's home. We must take good care of it." Daolin patted Jijiu on the shoulder and said.
