Chapter 92 The Butler's Invitation

During the time we headed to Linzhong Road again, the snowflakes falling in the sky became slower and slower.

When the wind is not blowing, this often means that the snowflakes become larger in size.

By the time the three of them arrived at the gate of the warden's mansion, the surrounding streets had begun to accumulate a layer of white that was enough to cover up the original color of the streets.

Under the light of dusk, the entire residential area looks quiet and peaceful.

This time, noticing the arrival of the three Ronalds, the guard in front of the warden's mansion took the initiative to ask:

"Are you... the one who came here this afternoon?"

"That's right." Ronald nodded and used the excuse that Nicole had used in the afternoon, "It's better to send someone over. Please inform Mr. Butler."

"..."

"I see."

After hesitating for a few seconds, the guard brother turned around and ran to the door of the main building of the mansion, then knocked on the door and started talking to the people inside.

A few minutes later, the housekeeper came to the door again in the afternoon.

He walked up to Ronald unhurriedly, and just when he was about to speak, he froze on the spot.

The butler's eyes gradually shifted from Ronald to Patricia.

He didn't even take a second look at the sorceress who looked like a prisoner and was being escorted over by the two men.

With a nervous voice, the housekeeper spoke:

"Ms. Nicklaus?"

"Yes, it's me."

Patricia nodded generously and admitted, then pointed at the sorceress with her eyes and introduced in a calm tone:

"As you can see, we are responsible for bringing this guest here."

"Today has no unnecessary purpose."

Regarding Patricia's statement, the housekeeper thought carefully for a few seconds before answering seriously:

"You two, I'd better invite you to come in and sit down first."

"Master, his working time for today has ended and he will be back soon. It would be better for the master to handle this sudden 'visit' of a new guest without an appointment in person."

With that said, the butler has already directed the guards to open the door, as if asking you two to come in quickly.

"..."

Seeing the enthusiastic attitude of the housekeeper in front of her, Patricia asked Ronald straightforwardly:

"How's it going, Ronald?"

"If you still have something to do, I can wait alone."

"I promise there won't be any accidents in this matter."

Ronald could hear the sincerity in Patricia's tone and understand her thoughts.

The housekeeper was obviously planning to receive guests because of Patricia's arrival. She didn't want to delay Ronald's time for such a reason, so she asked this question.

But to be honest, he is also very interested in the original code holder of Burrenwich, and it would be no problem to meet him if he takes this opportunity.

So, Ronald also shook his head:

"I've already got off work today, and I still have plenty of time."

"OK."

After the communication and opinions were unified, the two followed the footsteps of the official family and led the sorceress inside. After walking through the door and entering the house, it was the first time that Ronald entered the residence of a real upper class person since his time travel.

I have to admit that the warden, who has the dual identities of the original code holder of the mysterious side of Burrenwich and the general manager of the prison, maintains a very good standard of living.

The entire mansion is mainly made of brick and white, and the interior space is spacious and bright. There are also very eye-catching paintings hanging on the walls in places such as corridors and halls. Just by looking at them, you can understand that these things are of great value.

Even the servants working here whom I met along the way were in better physical and mental condition than the ordinary people on Burrenwich Street.

Coming to the dedicated reception room on the second floor, the furniture here is exquisitely selected and comfortable at the same time.

The entire house, no matter the furniture used for decoration or the internal layout that is convenient for people to move around, shows the living standard that upper class people should have.

Ronald and Patricia had just sat on the chairs when the housekeeper who brought them in spoke:

"Boy, do you have any preferences for drinks?"

"Just tea."

"Please wait a moment." The butler bent down slightly and showed a formulaic polite expression, "I will have someone bring it over right away. Please wait for a moment."

"If you're with me, I won't bother you here for now."

"If anything happens, just tell the servant at the door."

After saying this, the butler immediately turned around and left, with a hint of haste in his footsteps.

It seemed that while receiving Ronald and Patricia, there was actually work waiting for him to handle.

"..."

The door was gently closed, and the butler's figure disappeared.

The air in the room was silent for a few seconds, and Patricia spoke first:

"Sorry, Ronald."

"I was a little careless."

The girl felt that she was too careless. During the past few days in Burrenwich, she did not have much negotiation with the local people, which made her feel a little relaxed.

Under normal circumstances, she shouldn't have been seen by the housekeeper at the door just now.

Otherwise, it would be impossible for anyone who knew his identity not to invite him in as a guest when she came to her door.

And out of due etiquette, it was not convenient for her to refuse directly.

"It's okay, I just happened to come in and have a look."

Hearing Patricia's apologetic tone, Ronald felt quite relaxed.

"Actually, I haven't been in Burrenwich for a long time, and I don't have much to do after work today, so that's actually not bad."

Having said this, Ronald's eyes drifted to the sorceress beside him.

The housekeeper probably didn't send anyone to take Jennifer away in order to improve his argument, so he was still following them.

Along the way here, the sorceress was really reticent and had almost no communication with them.

Bang bang bang——

After a few minutes, a knock appeared at the door, and a weak voice sounded outside:

"You two, could you please interrupt me?"

Patricia habitually replied:

"Please come in."

The owner of the voice opened the door and came in.

This is a young girl who looks to be in her early twenties, wearing a wide maid's dress.

He held a silver tray steadily in his hand. In addition to a set of white porcelain printed tea sets, there were two light yellow soft cakes on it.

Placing the tray in her hand on the table between Ronald and Patricia, she immediately picked up the teapot on it and began to pour tea for the two of them skillfully.

After tea and cake were delivered to the two of them respectively, she respectfully stepped back to the door:

"You two, do you have any other instructions?"

Patricia waved her hand:

"Step back first."

"yes."

Bending down again, the maid left the room without forgetting to say:

"I'll be waiting at the door. If you need anything, please tell me."

As soon as she finished speaking, the maid gently closed the door but did not lock it.

Ronald and Patricia looked at each other before dealing with the cakes and tea in front of them.
