Chapter Sixty-Four: Familiar with the Road

Verak walked out of the room with a cold face and nodded to Diaz who was standing by. The other person quickly walked over and locked the door again.

"You go back, I'll leave first." When going down the stairs, Verak adjusted his mood and said to Diaz as calmly as possible.

Diaz noticed that Verak was not in a good mood, but he also knew that this involved something extremely private, so he did not comfort or interrupt. He just said goodbye to Verak after arriving on the second floor.

Verak left the Rovid Hotel and looked up at Room 7 on the fourth floor. The windows were still closed. Perhaps Nord was standing in front of the window now, hoping desperately to come out.

It's a pity that after Verak rescued Nord, he would not live according to Verak's ideas.

This is the most difficult thing for Verak to understand. Nord clearly longed for such a life, but now that such a life is at his fingertips, he doesn't need it anymore.

"Bad boy..." Verak muttered.

In his opinion, Nord is still young, but he suddenly learned so many things today that he didn't react. He will give Nord a few days to calm down, and then come to him to have a good talk.

It was now around three-thirty in the afternoon. When he was getting rid of Fletcher's tracking, he and Daniel made an appointment to meet on the street behind the Rovid Hotel around four o'clock.

Today, because of Fletcher's tracking, the available time was cut off by an hour. Fortunately, the conversation with Nord ended quickly, and now everything is just fine.

Verak came to the street behind the Rovid Hotel, bought a copy of Le Monde on the way, and sat on a bench by the roadside to read while patiently waiting for Daniel's arrival.

It was already past four o'clock when Verak read the latest Le Monde, but there was still no trace of Daniel.

If Daniel had gotten rid of Fletcher long ago, then he could have arranged his time reasonably and arrived before four o'clock. Now that he did not show up at the agreed time, he must have encountered some trouble, for example, Fletcher still insisted on following him.

If the situation is really as expected, it will be troublesome.

Verak held the newspaper and thought about countermeasures.

If he went back now, the timeline would not match up. After all, Fletcher watched him get into the car, and now the car is still circling outside. How did he return?

The situation is very passive now. Verak can't do anything sitting here. He can only place all his hopes on Daniel.

Ten past four.

Daniel didn't come.

Four twenty.

Daniel still hasn't come.

Four thirty.

Time had become very urgent, and Verak read Le Monde three times.

Four forty.

Just when Verak could hardly sit still, Daniel's car finally turned into the street!

Verak's heart was lifted. He ran to the street with the newspaper and waved to Daniel. The car driven by Daniel slowed down and stopped in front of Verak: "Quick! Mr. Chris!"

Verak quickly got into the car. As soon as he got in, before he even had time to close the door, the car started up again and the speed suddenly increased.

"Mr. Chris, close the door quickly!" Daniel shouted anxiously.

Verak, who was still sitting still, reached out and closed the door, then sat upright, put the hat that was originally placed on the seat back on his head, and looked at the rearview mirror.

Almost as soon as he put on his hat, Fletcher's car also turned into the street!

"They are still following?!" Although this was an obvious thing, Verak was still shocked.

"Yes sir!" Daniel also glanced at the rearview mirror with lingering fear. Fortunately, the speed of the car has returned to normal. He just took the risk of picking up Verak and got into the car without being discovered. "They have been following me for so long.

I already realized that we were driving in circles on purpose. Since everyone knew it, I didn't worry about anything. I tried to get rid of them at about three o'clock, but no matter how I tried to get rid of them, their car followed them closely.

later!"

Turning another corner, Verak threw out the hat he bought in the afternoon: "Then the situation is very bad. The Rovid Hotel is extremely sensitive to Fletcher and failed to get rid of him and let him watch us pass by.

, it is inevitable that suspicion will arise, associating the purpose of my trip with the Rovid Hotel."

"Is this...possible?" Daniel felt a little fussed. "In their eyes, we almost went around Lezein and happened to pass by the Rovid Hotel. It shouldn't be a big deal, right?"

"It would be great if Fletcher could think so." Verak knew Fletcher too well and couldn't get rid of him today. If he saw him passing near the Rovid Hotel, he would definitely associate himself with Nord.

At the same time, even if he was not sure that he knew Nord's whereabouts, he might move Nord's location and increase surveillance just to be sure.

In this regard, all Verak can do is to return to the mansion and face Fletcher's questioning, try to make up a convincing reason, allay his suspicion, and believe that anything happened to Diaz and the Rovid Hotel.

He can take care of it.

"Mr. Chris, should we go back to Thomas' mansion directly now?" Daniel asked.

"No, if we go around for another half an hour and return directly after passing the Rovid Hotel, it will only increase Fletcher's suspicion." Verak re-entered the tense game, "You still belong to them in Fletcher's eyes.

He is a person, so he will definitely ask you for questions after he returns."

"I know that, Mr. Chris, I won't tell him anything." Daniel said matter-of-factly.

"It can't be like this." Verak frowned, his eyes were cold, "You will only make Fletcher think that you are mine. When the time comes, in order to weaken my strength, he will kick you out, and I will completely break up."

It serves as a hub of connection between peace and equality.”

After being prompted by Verac, Daniel immediately realized the problem. He looked serious: "I have to formulate a good enough wording that will not reveal your whereabouts or purpose, nor make him suspicious."

"That's right." Verak has already thought about how to say it. This is too familiar to him now. "You must put yourself in an extremely innocent position. If Fletcher asks, you just tell him

I originally asked you to take me to the South District, but not long after I left you saw that I was a little panicked, and then I started to order you to walk around randomly, as if I wanted to get rid of something, but in the end I failed, so I had to

I will scold you angrily and ask you to return to the mansion."

"I... noted it down..." Daniel nodded.
