Four hundred and seventeenth chapter Daxian

In this way, under the arrangement of Juxian Bodhisattva, Su Wen came to live in Juxian Bodhisattva's dojo.

What opened Su Wen's eyes was that he discovered that Juxian Bodhisattva's dojo was far less magnificent than the Daliang Palace.

However, in such a large palace, only a dozen disciples of Juxian Bodhisattva lived, and in addition there were only a few servants.

Su Wen also found Sai Hu and was placed in the stable.

In the two days before Su Wen found it, he stayed in the stable and ate everything he could.

Not only did the servants not know that it was a demon donkey, but even the disciples of Juxian Bodhisattva had no idea of its true identity.

After seeing Su Wen, it felt relieved and began to criticize the poor forage and made many demands. Not only did it want good forage, but it also wanted to eat the spiritual grass from Juxian Bodhisattva's dojo.

But when Su Wen asked him to go to Juxian Bodhisattva to make a request, Saihu stopped.

How could it have the guts to make demands of Juxian Bodhisattva? Especially for a monster like it, which had caused trouble in Savatthi State and was wanted. Once someone recognized it, the consequences would be disastrous. Don't think that Su Wen will be able to

To protect it, Sai Hu knew very well that Su Wen's current situation was not necessarily better than his.

Juxian Bodhisattva also arranged a disciple for Su Wen as a guide. If Su Wen wanted to travel in the Buddhist country, he could go everywhere accompanied by his disciple.

However, Juxian Bodhisattva also made a request that Su Wen was not allowed to go to the forbidden places in Sravasti and not go to the monasteries of other Bodhisattvas and Arhats, so as not to cause misunderstandings and cause trouble.

As for the secular city-states under the rule of Buddhism, they can move forward unimpeded, but they cannot show extraordinary power, let alone promote the doctrines of hundreds of schools of thought.

Su Wen agreed to all these conditions one by one.

Just do as the Romans do, he doesn't want to cause trouble, he just wants to find a way out of here in a low-key manner.

Earthly Branches has contacted Walnut.

Unfortunately, during this period of time, Walnut had no idea what he was doing and could not be contacted at all.

This actually made Su Wen a little worried. Just thinking about the power of walnuts that transcended cognition, he felt that his worries were a bit ridiculous.

In his opinion, there were very few people who could harm Walnut.

"This guy must be planning something..."

Su Wen thought to himself, and then he thought, since Walnut couldn't be contacted because of something, he should stay quietly in the Buddhist country for a while.

As a historian and a novelist, such a place is naturally an excellent place to go. Whether it is to fill in the gaps in the historian's understanding of Buddhism or to add information to the novelist's writings, it is a good choice.

"Senior Brother Zhenfan, you've got a job."

Su Wen held Sai Hu's hand and gestured to a tall monk next to him.

"Junior brother, you're welcome."

The great monk Zhenfan is one of the disciples of Juxian Bodhisattva. He is also responsible for Su Wen's daily life.

What surprised Su Wen the most was that the real monk was really just an ordinary person, not an extraordinary person.

But the seniority of the monk Zhenfan is not low. He is the fourth disciple accepted by Juxian Bodhisattva, and he is over fifty years old.

Monk Zhenfan generally knew Su Wen's identity, and he also knew that Juxian Bodhisattva intended to ordain Su Wen and accept him as his disciple. In this way, Su Wen became his junior brother in the true sense. So Su Wen called him senior brother, and he

So he accepted the offer calmly and became very close to Su Wen.

"I'll take you to Savatthi City today. There happens to be a master discussing Taoism. Let's go and listen to the exquisite Dharma."

Monk Zhenfan, who was riding on a buffalo, said, "It is the mighty Arhat who is telling us his views on Buddhism. He talks about it once every ten years. You must listen to it."

Seeing Su Wen's confused look, Zhenfan added: "Shenwei Arhat is the only golden Arhat who has achieved the status of Arhat in the past thirty years. His understanding of the essentials of Buddhism is the first among all Bodhisattvas.

I am dull by nature and cannot understand the Buddhist teachings explained by the teacher. The teacher once said that if I have the fate to listen to the mighty Arhat explain the Buddha, I may be able to gain enlightenment."

"I see."

Su Wen nodded repeatedly to express his understanding of what Monk Zhenfan said.

However, he also admired the calm attitude of the real monk. The teacher was a Bodhisattva, and all of his brothers were extraordinary beings. As an ordinary person, living among these people, the psychological shadow on him can be imagined.

But Zhenfan doesn't seem to care much about his situation. In a sense, it is in line with the Buddhist detachment.

The monastery of Juxian Bodhisattva is not far from Savatthi City, several miles away.

After leaving the dojo, Su Wen saw an endless stream of pedestrians on the road.

What was different from Su Wen's expectation was that there were only a small number of monks and most of them were ordinary people.

Su Wen carefully observed their clothes and found that regardless of whether they were dressed gorgeously or simply, men, women, and children had very calm and contented expressions on their faces, and their hearts were filled with happiness.

This made Su Wen doubt what Sai Hu had said before.

"Are these people going to the city to listen to Buddhism?"

Su Wen asked Monk Zhenfan.

"good."

Monk Zhenfan replied with a smile: "It's the time of the Bon Festival. Not only are the masters preaching Dharma, but there are also various temple fairs for blessings. It's very lively."

Only then did Su Wen understand that the reason why the mighty Arhat appeared in Savatthi City at this time to preach the Dharma was because of the festival.

The Holy Ghost Festival only exists in Su Wen's memory in his previous life. There is no such custom in the countries within the pass. Judging from the current development, it is unlikely that there will be one in the future.

Savatthi is the capital of Savatthi State.

In fact, "capital" means that Sravasti is a pure land created by the Buddhist power, and there is no king. A city lord is designated to take charge of worldly affairs. The lord's family also has connections with Buddhism.

, before the Buddhist sect was prosperous, he worshiped and protected the Buddha and gave alms to the monks, and finally gained the favor of the Buddhist sect. His descendants were in charge of the government affairs of Savatthi State, and their prosperity and wealth have continued to this day.

Under the leadership of Monk Zhenfan, Su Wen quickly followed the crowd into the city and arrived at the large square in the center of the city.

Entering the city, Su Wen felt that there was something special about Savatthi City.

There is actually a towering Bodhi tree in the city, standing in the center of the city, and the large square is built around the Bodhi tree.

The strange thing is that this Bodhi tree cannot be seen outside the city.

At this time, people were already crowding under the bodhi tree.

Su Wen felt a solemn aura surging around him from afar, so he couldn't help but get off Saihu and approach with caution.

The voice of the mighty Arhat came from far away. Although it was far away, the voice still fell in Su Wen's ears very clearly: "... By practicing the above-mentioned Bodhisattva practices, you can obtain Buddhahood and seek Anuttara.

Three sages and three bodhisattvas will eventually lead to the ultimate fruition."

"Good!"

After listening to this exposition of the Mighty Arhat, the monks and people present were all beaming with joy and had many enlightenments.

Su Wen frowned slightly.

Although he did not hear the discussion of the Divine Power Arhat, he could still tell from the key words that the Divine Power Arhat preached the sutras and meanings of Hinayana Buddhism and did not involve the Mahayana.

"Junior brother also studies Buddhism?"

Seeing Su Wen's strange expression, Monk Zhenfan asked curiously: "I heard that all the countries in Guan Nei don't understand Buddhism, but my junior brother understands it?"

"I understand a little bit, I understand a little bit."

Su Wen said casually. After responding, he said in his heart that it was bad.

He actually doesn’t understand Buddhism, but he has read several Buddhist scriptures, such as the Diamond Sutra and the Surangama Sutra. In order to understand such exquisite Buddhist books, he also bought some popular science guide books to assist him.

Those who generally understand the profound meaning, but are not religious themselves.

If he simply talks about some popular science content, he can naturally say a few sentences, but if he is asked to debate Buddhism, those three sentences will be finished on the spot.

"No wonder the teacher intends to accept his junior disciple as a closed disciple."

Monk Zhenfan praised: "It turns out that my junior brother has deep roots of wisdom and is destined to be connected with the Buddha."

"Don't talk nonsense..." Su Wen shook his head repeatedly.

"Junior brother, you are a great Confucian sage. After listening to the Dharma of the mighty Arhat, how do you feel and what is your evaluation?"

"It's hard to say...it's hard to tell." Su Wen said cautiously, but he couldn't help but said: "It's not that there is something wrong with his Dharma..."

"Is there a great Confucian sage here?"

At this time, a solemn voice sounded in Su Wen's ears: "Zhenfan, why don't you invite the great sage to come to me?"
