Sure enough, after preaching the Avatamsaka Sutra, Red Lotus Bodhisattva rushed to the border town with seventy-two Arhats.
But he didn't launch an attack, he just wanted to force Su Wen to stop preaching.
However, there were many Arhats and Bodhisattvas in the venue who came forward.
Many of them were Rakshasa and Yaksha. After listening to what Su Wen preached about Buddhism, they gained some enlightenment and advanced to enlightenment. Knowing that what Su Wen said was true and not a false teaching, they knew that it was their duty to defend Buddhism.
When Su Wen finished preaching on the Avatamsaka Sutra, it was almost dusk, but he did not stop there. Instead, he opened the Vimalakīrti Sutra and began to preach.
At this time, the Colored Light Buddha and the Lantern Buddha also appeared on the sky.
The appearance of the two Buddha Lords naturally brought endless pressure to the Arhats and Bodhisattvas who were confronting them below.
But almost at the same time, Shenwei Bodhisattva, emitting golden light and stepping on auspicious clouds, appeared opposite the two Buddhas. Then, the great Buddha also appeared and confronted them. Although the two sides did not make a move, they released each other.
The Dharma image that came out occupied the sky and began to wrestle.
While Su Wen was preaching the Dharma, the exchange between Lord Juxian Buddha and Lord Lantern Buddha was also going on.
"Ju Xian, you have sinned deeply."
The lamp-carrying Buddha has a small lamp on his shoulder. The lamp flickers on and off, containing infinite Buddha power.
When he arrived here, he wanted to pick up a small lamp and throw it down, but he gave up the idea when he saw Lord Juxian Buddha appear.
Once this natal magic weapon is used elsewhere, when fighting Juxian, there will be one less weapon at hand, and the gain outweighs the loss.
"How can I see it?"
Lord Juxian Buddha said calmly: "When everyone becomes a Buddha, when does it become a sin?"
"Reversing the order, showing no dignity, preaching evil Dharma, disrupting Buddhism, and committing murders, how can it not be a sin?" There was no sadness or joy in the voice of Lord Lantern Buddha, and finally he said calmly: "You also killed Liu Guang.
"Buddha, your sins are particularly serious. If it weren't for the mercy of my Buddha, I would have taken action at this time to wipe out all of you."
"If you can kill us, why would you waste so much time talking about it?"
Shenwei Bodhisattva held the Zen staff in his hand, his voice was majestic and filled with anger.
Lord Green Lion Buddha and him are close friends. The two often compete in Buddhism and martial arts, and their friendship is extremely deep.
Now that Lord Green Lion Buddha has disappeared and died together with Lord Glazed Light Buddha, he seeks benevolence and gains benevolence, but he cannot let go and is dissatisfied with these ancient Buddhas who hinder the development of Buddhism.
"The poor monk doesn't want to get blood on his hands, so he can talk to you in a nice voice."
The lantern-carrying Buddha raised his eyelids and glanced at Shenwei Bodhisattva.
"How to have a good voice?"
The Divine Power Bodhisattva sneered.
As the number one Arhat in the Buddhist kingdom and promoted to the position of Bodhisattva, he is equally tough when facing the Lord Buddha. He is not necessarily the opponent of the Lord Buddha, but like the green lion Buddha, he pulls the Lord Buddha along with him.
Annihilation is also possible.
Moreover, he is sure that he has this determination. As for whether the other party also has the same determination, that is not certain.
"In order to reduce the number of killings, you can take away Buddhists who believe in evil dharma and leave the Buddhist country."
The Lord Holding the Lamp Buddha gave his own solution: "In this way, the Buddha's country can be restored to purity without committing more sins. As for where you preach false Dharma in the future, it has nothing to do with the Buddha's country. It is just that you will not be able to do it again from now on."
Entering the Buddhist country and preaching your evil dharma."
"Ha ha……"
Hearing the words of Lord Carrying the Lamp Buddha, the virtuous Lord Buddha, who had been silent all this time, suddenly burst into laughter.
"Master, why are you laughing?"
The colorful light Buddha has a gloomy expression.
He was seriously injured before, but after a period of recuperation, he is now as good as before. Now he is fully armed and has all the magic weapons on his body. If he fights again, his combat power will be at least doubled compared to before.
"Why is the new law a false law and heresy?" The virtuous Lord Buddha said calmly: "You want to force us out of the Buddhist country because you want us to admit that the law we uphold is a false law and a great fallacy!"
"If you think that our Dharma is not the Dharma of the true Buddha, then leave the high clouds and come down to the earthly world to debate the Dharma with us and Zen Master Su Wen, instead of driving us away, sealing off the Buddhist country, and turning this place into a pool of stagnant water.
!”
"If you can't do this, or don't dare to do it, how qualified are you to declare that the old Dharma you uphold is the true Dharma! It's really unreasonable to mistake your cowardice for compassion!"
The virtuous Lord Buddha said in a stern voice at the end: "Since you dare not debate the Dharma openly, and dare not admit the benefits and legitimacy of the new Dharma, and are timid, is this what the Lord Buddha should do?"
"Evil! You have indeed gone astray and are hopeless!"
Faced with the scolding of the great virtuous Lord Buddha, Lord Buddha Holding the Lamp looked calm and said without sadness or joy: "The level of Buddhism has been determined since the Age of Ending Dharma. Only in this way can Buddhism support several Buddha Lords, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats.
So that the Buddhist kingdom survives and continues to this day."
When the Buddha holding the lamp mentioned the history of the Buddhist country, the virtuous Buddha could not easily interrupt the other party. He could only wait for the Buddha holding the lamp to finish speaking before he could argue.
Because when the other party starts to mention the history of Buddhism, the two sides have actually started to debate the old and new Buddhism. Now that they have started to debate, they can't be like shrews, wrangling and arguing. They can only quote the scriptures and elucidate them, and finally come to a conclusion on the meaning of the scriptures.
Refute the opponent and win.
Even if there are tricks, the virtuous Lord Buddha is not willing to do it. Winning without force is not glorious. It is better to lose the argument openly and openly, but it is upright and the Buddha Dharma will last forever.
"Therefore, it can be seen that the Buddhist dharma passed down from the era of true Buddhas is the key to the survival of Buddhism. It cannot be easily changed, let alone destroyed. The absurd theory that everyone becomes a Buddha must not be widely spread. It is the proper way to defend the inherent order.
The righteousness and the principle that must be followed.”
"The Buddha's fallacy is something that a poor monk would not agree with."
When Lord Buddha Carrying the Lamp finished speaking, Lord Buddha the Great Virtue took over and began to refute.
"How the Age of Ending the Dharma came has not been determined because of the long history of the times. However, based on the research of the powerful masters, the conclusions drawn are basically that after the true Buddha passed away, he encountered the disaster of annihilation, and the Buddha's teachings also suffered.
At the time of destruction, the Dharma of the True Buddha was incomplete and Buddhism fell into silence. According to the opinion of the poor monk, the Dharma preached by Su Wen was not a new Dharma. However, before the destruction of the world, the Dharma taught by the True Buddha Tathagata was based on the words and meaning of the Buddhist scriptures.
, this clue can also be seen in the profound meaning. This method is nothing more than the true Buddha reappearing in the world through the mouth of Zen Master Su Wen to save all living beings."
"Bad talk!"
But the Lord Holding the Lamp Buddha said coldly, indicating that he did not accept this statement: "If it is what the true Buddha said, how could a poor monk, as a Lord Buddha, not resonate with it!"
When he said this, there was anger in his voice, and the sound of metal and stone clashing echoed.
For powerful people like Lord Lantern Buddha, they naturally understand the principle that the sea is open to all rivers, and it is vast. They also know that rocks from other mountains can attack jade. If there is a new Buddhist method that can enhance their cultivation, it is naturally a good thing.
After all, they all know that although they are known as "Buddha Lords", in the era of true Buddhas, their power is nothing at all, and there is still huge room for improvement.
However, the Buddhist teachings preached by Su Wen, although exquisite, were contrary to the principles of cultivation they upheld.
They can't benefit from it.
Of course, there are benefits. If they are willing to give up their current status and cultivation, abolish the power of Buddhism, and rebuild their enlightenment and practice new Buddhism, their achievements will definitely be high.
It's just that no one is willing to take risks, whether it's the Lantern Buddha, the Colored Light Buddha, or other Buddhas.
Once you lose your strength, it is almost impossible to get back to the top. And by that time, many Bodhisattvas and Arhats have been promoted to Buddha. They were originally in the first place, but in the end they became the last ones. How can you bear this?
Therefore, defending the existing order and Buddhist laws has become their core interest.
In other words, no matter who wins or loses in the Buddhist debate, there is only one outcome.
That is, the new law must die. At least within the scope of the Buddhist kingdom, it is not allowed to spread anymore.
In the view of Lord Lantern Buddha, exile is already the lightest punishment.
According to the original idea, the Buddhas had agreed to kill all the believers who took refuge in the new Buddhism to avoid future troubles.
Now that they have just been banished, the kindness of the Buddhas has become impeccable, and it can even be considered as letting the tiger return to the mountain.
"Doesn't this mean that the Dharma currently upheld by the Buddhas is flawed, and we should seek advice humbly and practice diligently?"
The virtuous Lord Buddha sighed: "Standing on one's own sect is the root cause of the decline of Buddhism. Shallow vision and refusal to learn are the reasons for the silence of Buddhas. Lord Buddha, when you became a Buddha, you left behind a verse saying, 'Thousands of years'
A dark room can be illuminated by a lamp. Isn't this the profound meaning in the scriptures said by Zen Master Su Wen? Why can't you calm down, listen to the Dharma, and gain great perfection from it?"
"Dear Virtue, you have fallen too deeply into the devil's path."
When Lord Lantern Buddha heard this, he became even more angry.
When he realized this principle, he attained the Great Way, and he also awakened the divine weapon of his destiny, that is, the small lamp on his shoulder, which has infinite power.
But after becoming a Buddha, he failed to perfect this concept for countless years because he could not achieve higher advancement.
But when Su Wen was talking about the scriptures, there were such metaphors in the three scriptures, and he analyzed them in detail, explaining thoroughly the secrets of the great truth that he had not understood or misunderstood.
This kind of behavior can be said to have perfected the original idea of Lord Buddha carrying the lamp, but at the same time, this part of Buddhism has also occupied the path Lord Buddha wants to take. The path that was originally exclusive to Lord Buddha has become feasible for everyone.
It's a bright road.
Lord Lantern Buddha is not narrow-minded. If he has understood the Great Way, he is still willing to share the Buddha's fruit of the Great Way with all living beings, save all sentient beings, and attract believers.
But this was accomplished by Su Wen, and it was more sound than what he had thought. In the end, he was the first to save all sentient beings. So what use is he, the lantern-carrying Buddha!
"Today the poor monk is here to suppress heretics and set a warning to others."
The lantern-carrying Buddha said something different and patted his shoulder. The small lamp on his shoulder suddenly flew up and turned into a flaming lotus platform, falling towards the head of the great virtuous Buddha!?
