Chapter 35 Footsteps in the Rain

Li Zheng still couldn't control some of the gangsters in the village. They would be afraid only if he came up with his family tree to tell the story, so he had to go and control them.

He was also worried about his mother-in-law. She was always against An Jiuyue, and he didn't know why she was there.

"Then...let's do it."

Li Zheng thought for a moment and nodded.

So, a large group of people divided into two groups and headed up the mountain amid a group of men cursing.

At home, when An Jiuyue returned home, the two little guys had already washed the dishes.

Then the porridge has been cooked, and they are waiting for their mother to come back and stir-fry the vegetables before eating.

"Mom, where have you been? It's almost dark."

When Zheng'er saw her mother coming back, she quickly asked, "From dawn to dark, their mother had been gone all day, and they were so anxious to wait."

"There is a flood at the bottom of the mountain, and my mother has gone to save people."

An Jiuyue didn't intend to hide it from the two little guys, so she replied.

"Are you feeling flooded?" Rong'er blinked.

After all, the two little ones are still young. They don't have much idea about the word "flooding" and they don't have much worry in their hearts.

"Um."

An Jiuyue responded and reached out to touch the two little ones' faces.

"Are you hungry? Mom will cook you two dishes."

After saying a word, she quickly started cooking. She had to take advantage of the time when those people didn't think of coming to her house to take refuge. She had to cook the vegetables for the two little ones to eat, so that she could arrange the rest.

"I'll add fuel to mother's anger," Rong'er said immediately.

"good."

An Jiuyue responded.

After the mother and son had eaten, An Jiuyue drove the two little ones back to her room, and then went downstairs carrying the stove with charcoal fired.

Beside the big tree, in a place that was not exposed to the rain, there was a small hut that her father had built before. There was also a stove in the hut and a large pot.

That was the cauldron that her father used to shed hair when he came back from hunting. It was really big.

She took out some rice from the space, washed it, put it in a big pot, put enough water in it, then put all the fire in the stove under the stove and started cooking porridge.

Just as I started cooking, I heard footsteps in the rain.

"Jiuyue, it's so late, why are you still down there, where are Zheng'er and Rong'er?" Li Zheng saw An Jiuyue lighting a fire in the hay shed and asked with some embarrassment on his face.

After all, the little girl had saved them before, and it really shouldn't be the case that so many of them came here to disturb her.

But they have no choice. If they don't come here, if they all crowd into the cave, won't they starve to death and freeze to death?

"They are up there. I'm going to cook some porridge for everyone. We don't have much rice at home, so we only have enough to cook some porridge. I hope you uncles and aunts don't mind."

"I don't mind, I don't mind. I just need a sip. How can I...Jiuyue, I'm sorry to bother you." Aunt Ju heard her words and immediately said with a smile.

Although she was shivering from the cold now, there was nothing she could do.

It was an early spring day, and they had been soaked in the water. Their clothes were all wet. How could they not be cold? But even if they were cold, it would be better than being washed away by the flood.

"Aunt Ju, I just carried firewood down here. You guys should divide it into several piles and light a fire to roast it. Let's dry our clothes first." An Jiuyue looked at the people who were coming over.

Some women and children quickly suggested.
