In the blink of an eye, it was the thirty-third year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty.
As the Supreme Emperor, Li Shimin has already left seclusion. Originally, Emperor Li Zhi wanted to give up the Tai Chi Palace... But Li Shimin is obviously not interested in handling state affairs at the moment. Moreover, the current team in the DPRK has been promoted by Li Zhi.
A group of people have risen up. Although the original Zhenguan old men are still in power, except for Changsun Wuji, who is in the prime minister's position, the rest of the old ministers are gradually fading out of the center of power.
Even Changsun Wuji never expected that Li Zhi, the prince who seemed harmless to humans and animals and who was usually "benevolent and cowardly", would act like a completely different person once he sat on the throne.
It is said that King Wu Li Ke's bravery and decisiveness are the most similar to the Supreme Emperor, but Changsun Wuji felt that this boy was truly like his father... Those emperors used their methods, and even the current Prime Minister who was appointed by the Supreme Emperor as an important minister of the dynasty...
Auxiliary, that is also breathtaking.
In addition to government affairs, he respected Sanzang Buddha as his teacher in the world, and used Yuan Tiangang in high regard, recruiting a group of strange people... Changsun Wuji, as the prime minister, had seen these people with his own eyes.
Charlatans, all of them have real skills.
If the Confucian sage Zengzi hadn't come to this world and passed down the awe-inspiring and upright cultivation methods, coupled with the revival of the power of the human bloodline, I'm afraid it would be difficult for them, the human ministers, to stand in the imperial court.
Because of the existence of Haoran's righteousness, Li Zhi can more clearly distinguish between "loyalty and traitor".
In other words, for a scholar who can cultivate and display awe-inspiring righteousness, even if the emperor himself does not like him, it does not prevent him from reusing and trusting him.
On the other hand, even if they are talented, but lack of character and cannot be recognized by Haoran Zhengqi... then it may be difficult for them to gain favor from the emperor.
After all, Confucianism relies on the emperor, and if you want to gain the emperor's trust...Haoran Zhengqi is obviously the best way.
Of course, this is just an additional function of Haoran's righteousness. Its real purpose is to allow the literati of the human race to have the power to protect themselves in the three realms where immortals, gods and demons are rampant.
That is to say, "Haoran Zhengqi" has just begun to emerge. Even if some civil and military leaders in the court cannot realize and awaken, they will not be treated differently by Li Zhi.
As the saying goes, times create heroes, Changsun Wuji is a smart man, especially since Li Shimin, as the Supreme Emperor, is still here... All the little thoughts he would have had naturally disappeared, and as a minister of the Tang Dynasty, he set an example, not only among the human race
He made great achievements in the power of blood, and through three days and two nights of consulting Zengzi, he successfully understood the "awesome spirit".
He was also a man of both civil and military skills... In the past, when civil servants fought with those old killers during court meetings, and when fists and kicks were exchanged, he was one of the few who could not suffer the consequences.
Of course, the so-called "not suffering" only means that after being beaten, you still have the energy to fight back... Among the entire Tang Dynasty civil servants, except for Wang Xuance, there are probably not many who can take advantage.
But Wang Xuance was engaged in diplomacy all day long. Even when he returned to the court, he would only speak to His Majesty alone, and rarely attended the court meeting.
The two top human masters of the Tang Dynasty were Wang Xuance and Xue Rengui, and the one responsible for instructing Li Zhi on how to cultivate the human blood power was Xue Rengui... But compared to Wang Xuance's "blood power" and Confucianism in the human race
With the comprehensive development of the two "Haoran Zhengqi" blossoms, Xue Rengui can be said to have reached the extreme in the single cultivation of the human race's "bloodline power".
It cannot be said that Xue Rengui was not both talented in both civil and military affairs, but his civility... was more reflected in his military skills.
After the founding veterans died one by one, Xue Rengui has become the new generation of military god of the Tang Dynasty... Now he is accompanying the Supreme Emperor Li Shimin as a guest at the Da Ci'en Temple.
Also coming together were Li Chunfeng and Yuan Tiangang.
As for Wang Xuance, he is on an envoy mission to the various countries in Eastern Continent and to the great sects of the Immortal Sect.
Although Emperor Li Zhi also wanted to come with him, he was kept in the palace by Li Shimin because "state affairs were the most important thing." After he ascended the throne and became emperor, he actually came to Daci'en Temple to ask Master Sanzang about the time.
All are much less.
As for Wu Cairen...because his father Li Shimin is still alive, even if he has some small thoughts, he does not dare to overstep his bounds.
Because Li Shimin was now concentrating on "martial arts", he dismissed all the concubines who had no heirs... Those who were willing to leave the palace were given gold and silver to return home; if they had no place to go, they were given monkhood in Ganye Temple.
Wu Cairen originally wanted to take this opportunity to go home...but her mother and two brothers disagreed, saying that it was insulting to the family tradition, so she was allowed to become a nun in Ganye Temple.
Speaking of Ganye Temple, it is different from the past.
Because the Holy Buddha Tripitaka is based in Chang'an, Buddhist monks from all over the Three Realms naturally have to gather in Chang'an... and there are naturally many female monks who have achieved enlightenment among them.
In Chang'an, there are only two places where these female cultivators can stay... One is Cihang Jingzhai on the outskirts of Chang'an, and the other is the Royal Ganye Temple located in the imperial city.
Relatively speaking, Cihang Jingzhai is the dojo of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and there are not many taboos... This Royal Ganye Temple is mostly a place for royal female relatives to become monks. Female nuns are afraid of trouble and generally will not go here.
Come.
But now the abbot and elder of Ganye Temple is not a mortal, but a bhikshuni who followed Master Tripitaka from Lingshan back to the Tang Dynasty. Her dharma name is Jingjian.
Master Jingjian was not from Xizhou, but from China. He was a native of Pengcheng in the late Western Jin Dynasty... It can even be said that this master was the first bhikshuni in the Central Plains.
After passing away, he ascended to the bliss of the Western Heaven and officially became one of the bhiksunis in Lingshan. He has been practicing in Lingshan ever since.
When Master Tripitaka finished his pilgrimage to the West and returned to the Tang Dynasty from Lingshan, he once hosted the "Uncensored Conference" in Tianzhu. She was one of the listeners and followed Master Tripitaka all the way back to the Tang Dynasty.
This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content! After Master Tripitaka established the consciousness-only teaching, many Arhats, monks, and nuns who followed from Lingshan chose to join the consciousness-only teaching.
The prosecutor is naturally no exception.
It’s just that everyone can learn the Dharma of the Consciousness-only Dharma, but it’s not easy to formally join the Daci’en Temple, or even become a disciple of Master Tripitaka.
Because Master Jingjian has profound Buddhist teachings and is one of the few eminent monks who is familiar with all the Buddhist scriptures in Lingshan Sutra Pavilion, Daci'en Temple will naturally not turn him away... But she only joined Daci'en Monastery and failed to become a
A disciple of Master Tripitaka.
The main reason is that Master Sanzang has declared to the outside world that he no longer accepts disciples, so it is a great opportunity to join the Daci'en Temple. Although she cannot become a disciple of Master Sanzang, as a member of the Daci'en Temple, she can
Naturally, you can ask Master Tripitaka for Buddhist teachings at any time.
It was not long after she entered the Daci'en Temple that Li Shimin chose to practice in seclusion. Before the retreat, he came to the Daci'en Temple specifically to invite Master Jingjian and asked her to be the abbot of the Royal Ganye Temple.
Ye Temple.
Master Jingjian didn't agree at first, but Li Shimin offered to help her rebuild the Zhulin Temple that was her dojo. Secondly, he said that there were all monks in the Ci'en Temple and she was the only nun, which was more or less inconvenient.
.
Master Jingjian agreed to Li Shimin's request after informing Master Sanzang and receiving Master Sanzang's permission and the instruction that "you can resign at any time and return to Daci'en Temple."
Master Sanzang said what he said in front of Li Shimin.
Li Shimin had no objection to this, and he had no objection in this regard.
When Wu Cai entered Ganye Temple, there was also Xiao Cai who was ordained at the same time... But this Xiao Cai kept crying. She had no place to go, and she didn't really want to become a monk.
There were actually many concubines in the same situation. Xiao Cairen's incident really disturbed the atmosphere of the scene and made the concubines who were ordained together shed tears.
Only Wu Cairen kept laughing, and seemed to be deliberately antagonizing Xiao Cairen... Every time Xiao Cairen cried, Wu Cairen laughed for a while.
This cycle is repeated five times.
The strange phenomenon here naturally alarmed Master Jingjian. She asked the disciple in charge of the tonsure to find out the situation. Then she looked at Wu Cairen and asked curiously: "Why are you laughing?"
Wu Cairen is also a person who "frequently" goes to Da Ci'en Temple. Naturally, Master Jingjian is the only bhikshuni in Da Ci'en Temple. It can be seen that his Buddhist teachings are recognized by Master Sanzang. Naturally, she does not dare to neglect, so she
Tell the truth about what is in your heart: "Why cry? My head is still there, everything is possible."
"good."
Master Jingjian nodded and said: "The donor is so courageous and not like an ordinary person."
"Bring the razor." Master Jingjian said to the disciple beside him, "You are not the one who can touch the hair of such a person, so the nun will shave it for her personally."
After saying this, Master Jingjian said to everyone: "If you are not a sincere person, you don't need to be tonsured. In the future, you can practice in the temple with your hair... If there is a day of enlightenment, it will not be too late to be tonsured and become a monk."
As expected, although Master Jingjian's words could not make them smile, they finally stopped their sadness.
Wu Cairen was the only one who was stunned for a moment. She looked at Master Jingjian curiously and asked, "Why didn't Master ask me if I really wanted to become a monk?"
"Namo Tripitaka Tathagata." Master Jingjian clasped his hands together, looked at Wu Cai and said: "I dare to ask the donor, but are you really serious about becoming a monk and practicing?"
After Wu Cairen thought for a moment, his expression kept changing. Finally, he didn't know what he thought of, but he sighed: "Let's shave off these three thousand troubles first."
Master Jingjian smiled slightly and said, "The donor shaved his hair but did not become a monk?"
Wu Cairen thought for a moment and said: "There will no longer be Wu Mei Niang in the Three Realms. Please give me a dharma title from the abbot."
Master Jingjian seemed to have been prepared, "Then let's call it Mingkong."
"Disciple Mingkong, pay homage to Master." Mingkong bowed down.
But Master Jingjian dodged and did not accept her salute.
Mingkong was even more surprised. Before she could ask, she heard Master Jingjian say: "Your master is not a poor nun."
"Who is that?"
"Then I want to ask you, where did you learn the Buddhist teachings from?"
Mingkong was stunned again, and he said a little uncertainly: "Is it Tripitaka Saint Buddha?"
"Now that the nun has been ordained, I will not hide it from you. Your Dharma name was given by the Holy Buddha... Before the nun came to Ganye Temple that day, it was the Holy Buddha who warned that if someone gets tonsured,
After laughing five times, let the poor nun ordain her personally. If she decides to become a monk and is given a Buddhist name, she will take the name Ming Kong."
Master Jingjian shook the fly whisk in his hand and said with a smile: "At that time, I was still wondering who the holy Buddha was talking about. But when I saw him today, I realized it was you."
Not only were "Wu Cai people" often seeing Master Jingjian in Da Ci'en Temple, but Master Jingjian didn't notice that this man could go to Da Ci'en Temple with His Highness the Prince just five minutes away from him to meet the Holy Buddha Tripitaka and listen to the Holy Spirit.
What about the martial arts people taught by the Buddha?
Although I don’t know why the Holy Buddha didn’t accept her as his disciple in person, he just allowed himself to ordain her... But Master Jingjian didn’t think too much about it, he just did what the Holy Buddha told him to do and that was it.
"You should practice with me during these days."
Mingkong was actually a little unsure at the moment, especially when Master Jingjian said that his master was the "Holy Tripitaka Buddha"... After all, Master Tripitaka said it himself that he had some connections with Buddha, but
Not much...so he just allowed himself to call him teacher, but did not accept him as his disciple.
Perhaps...it is precisely because of this that Master Jingjian should not be called "Master" by himself.
Mingkong also knew very well that these monks respected Tripitaka Buddha so much that even though he was just an ordinary student of Tripitaka Buddha, he had to be treated differently by them.
Now that it's here, let's make peace with it.
Regardless of whether it was because her mother and brother were angry at her for not letting her go home, in short, she accepted the ordination calmly now.
Just as she said——
What's there to cry about just being ordained and becoming a monk?
As long as our heads are still there, anything is possible.
No one can predict what will happen in the future. Besides, given your status, even if you are not a monk...do you still want to get married and have children?
The Supreme Emperor Li Shimin took himself back to the palace, and did not touch him for so many years...The prince back then, now the emperor Li Zhi, even if he had intentions for him, but his father was still alive, how could he dare to do such a "treasonous act"
"Things?
And under such circumstances, even if they can leave the palace and return home, who would dare to come to propose marriage?
Instead of being looked down upon at home, it is better to be ordained and become a monk in this Ganye Temple with peace of mind and practice peace of mind... maybe if you succeed in practice, you can even become an immortal.
After this experience, she thought she had a good chance...
"Abbott, can I still go to Daci'en Temple to consult Tripitaka Buddha for Buddhist teachings?" Mingkong tentatively asked Master Jingjian.
"Did the Holy Buddha say he wouldn't let you go again?"
Mingkong's eyes lit up. In a few days, it would be the monthly day to go to Daci'en Temple to listen to scriptures. Mingkong decided to test it out...
Facts have proved that Tripitaka did not prohibit him from going to the Great Ci'en Temple to consult him on Buddhist teachings, and because he had become a monk, he no longer had the previous taboos.
Mingkong suddenly saw a smooth road right in front of him.
