Chapter 72: Prescribe the right medicine to resolve obsessions

"The Sutra on the Mind and Ground of Original Life says: You should know that all dharmas are born from the ground of mind, and all arise from the ground of mind."

"Also: If there are sentient beings who behave unfilially, causing the mother to temporarily feel resentful, and the words of resentment are rarely heard, the son will suffer hardships as a result of his words."

Muzha turned his head slightly when he heard this. Although he didn't like to recite the Buddha's name, he still listened to the Bodhisattva's chanting. He thought that the "Jamataka Sutra" is the Mahayana Buddhist method. Did Master Tripitaka already understand this method before he went to Lingshan?

Yang Jian and Nezha were from Taoist schools, and they had always stayed away from Buddhism in the past because they had never been exposed to Mahayana and Hinayana. Anyway, they listened to Buddhist scriptures and did not feel there was anything wrong with them.

Not to mention Fahai's three disciples, as long as the master doesn't let the senior brother recite sutras, they can do whatever they want. As for the master reciting sutras... the Great Sage and Xiao Bailong will study seriously, but Bajie may have too many

It will be listened to as a lullaby.

"Those who can observe the mind will be liberated in the end, but those who cannot observe will always be entangled... The so-called resentment is nothing more than incomprehensible obsessions, or the bonds of the dead who are unwilling to give up their lives, or the unjust souls who have suffered unreasonable disasters, which is the basis of resentment for mortals.

There are not a few spiritual thoughts that are cultivated. I, the Buddha, are compassionate and teach the Dharma to purify the resentful spirits..." Fahai paused for a moment before continuing: "The more tenacious the mind is, the more will be produced.

The more difficult it is to resolve resentment, generally there are two methods."

"Which two kinds?" The great sage came forward.

"The first is to purify the resentful spirits with the supreme Buddhist Dharma; the second is to prescribe the right medicine to dissolve their obsessions, and then the resentful spirits will disperse on their own."

The Great Sage's mind was spinning rapidly, "With Master's Dharma, is it possible to purify this resentful spirit?"

"It's quite a waste of effort. It can take as little as three years or as long as ten years." Fahai has a rough estimate, but there is no absolute standard for purifying resentful spirits. What's more, these nine Buddhist scripture collectors are all Tripitaka's previous lives.

, his obsession with learning scriptures is so deep that purifying it may not be as easy as imagined, so Fa Hai is not optimistic about the first method.

When Mu Zha heard this, he quickly said: "When the Master left Chang'an, he told the King of Tang that he would return to the capital in three years as soon as possible. The Master should not miss the return date...I don't know how to solve this second problem? Maybe it will be faster?"

After all, Tripitaka's trip to the West was handled by Guanyin Bodhisattva. Although Muzha was not very close to the Bodhisattva, he did not want the things arranged by the Bodhisattva to go wrong.

Yang Jian was thoughtful and said, "If according to the master's words, resentment is born from obsession, then could it be that the resentment of these nine generations of pilgrims is based on the word 'purchase'?"

"What Zhenjun said is true." Fa Hai nodded slightly, "If we use the second method to resolve these nine resentful spirits, the key is to find out why this resentful spirit came out... And these nine resentful spirits

It was the obsession that the poor monk had when he went west to seek scriptures in his ninth life and was devoured by the Curtain God... I thought that as long as we started from here, the problem would be easily solved."

Mu Zha was stunned again. Why did Master Tripitaka know that these nine Buddhist scripture seekers were all his previous lives?

While he was doubting, he heard Yang Jian ask: "I wonder what you have to say, master?"

"Since the obsession of these nine generations of resentful spirits is to travel westward to obtain Buddhist scriptures, and their bodies were devoured by the Curtain Curtain Heavenly General...perhaps we can use the body of the Curtain Curtain Heavenly General to carry the nine generations of resentment and travel westward to the West.

, the poor monk will use Buddhist scriptures to transform him day and night, which should have the effect of getting twice the result with half the effort."

Fa Hai signaled to Yang Jian that he could first let go of the nine generations of obsessive spirits.

Yang Jian withdrew his Dharma Eyes, and Fahai immediately took out the purple gold alms bowl. The Buddha's flames burned inside, instantly covering the nine skulls and burning them instantly, with black smoke rising up.

The nine skulls were burned and refined at a speed visible to the naked eye. The nine obsessive and resentful spirits roared each other, but although the black energy on their bodies continued to be burned, it never faded...

Although the Buddha's flame cannot purify it, it is not completely ineffective. At least the resentful spirit has become much more stable now, and its previous manic aura has gradually calmed down.

Even now, the resentful spirit is not affected by the Buddha's flames, and is enjoying itself... The Great Sage doesn't understand this very much!

As expected, this is a resentful spirit born of obsession, but it is not an evil spirit. Even the Buddha's flame that burns sins cannot refine these obsessions.

After all, this resentful spirit's obsession is to go to the West to learn scriptures...

Fahai even felt that if these nine resentful souls were purified by Buddhism, they would enjoy it as much as they eat... "The more they eat, the bigger they get."

This is also the reason why Fahai is not optimistic about the first method.

The nine skulls were refined into nine Buddhist beads, and the nine resentful spirits were classified into one Buddhist bead. Fahai recited a mantra and collected the purple gold alms bowl.

"Walker Hui'an, please accept the divine gourd."

Muzha put the gourd away and saw that the Buddhist beads were hung on the neck of the body of the general who rolled the curtain under the influence of Master Tripitaka.

Fahai muttered something in his mouth, but he didn't know what scripture he was reciting, and then he saw the nine generations of obsessive and resentful spirits slowly relying on each other in the body of the general who rolled the curtain.

Yang Jian saw clearly that this was not a method of transferring the soul into the body, but rather an interdependent relationship. Although they seemed to be one body, they were actually two different individuals.

"Amitabha."

At this point, Fa Hai finally received his magical powers.

The Great Sage seemed to suddenly realize, and said: "Master, could this be what the previous Bodhisattva said? She first transcended the soul of the general who rolled the curtain, but she left behind the resentment and the resentment of these nine generations of pilgrims.

Is the body of the Curtained Heavenly General waiting for Master to dissolve it?"

Mu Zha was stunned again and again: What did the master say?

When? What happened? Why didn’t I know?

After arranging the trip to the west, I only went to Mount Sumeru once, and other than that, I never participated in the trip to the west again... Could it be that the master had other plans during the period?

Yes, Master has not been at home much these days, except for bringing back a little wolf as a spiritual pet. He has been walking outside.

Could it be that the disappearance of the spirit of the rolling curtain general was really caused by the master?

Mu Zha suddenly thought of the scene of Fa Hai resurrecting the souls of wronged persons underwater. The pure aura of Mahayana Buddhism was difficult to hide... and how could his amazing magic power be possessed by an ordinary monk?

Could it be the resurrection of Jin Chanzi’s true spirit?

The more Muzha thought about it, the more likely it became that this was the case. This was the only explanation that could explain the strange behavior of Master Tripitaka.

When he thought of this, he suddenly felt something bad in his heart... I'm afraid Master has known about this for a long time, but he never told me.

He then looked at the great sage who was very close to Master Tripitaka, feeling inexplicably envious.

Nezha was not interested in this. He was just curious about why his second brother Yang came to Liusha River. "Second brother, if you didn't spend more time with your sister-in-law at Guanjiangkou home, why did you come to Liusha River?"

"Brother Nezha, why do you need to know the advisor?" Yang Jian touched the Roaring Dog's head and signaled Nezha not to poke his wound at this time. So many friends are here...especially the naughty monkey.

If word of this disastrous thing comes out, he will only be ridiculed...

With Roaring Sky Dog around, it was impossible for Yang Jian not to know that Nezha was at their door at that time.

We didn't meet each other at that time because the atmosphere was quite awkward, so it would be better not to meet at all.

Nezha smiled and forgot about this for a moment.

"Brother Nezha, why are you here?"
