Chapter Thirty-One: Being Abandoned

The car had just driven out of the gate of the Gu family's old house. When he said goodbye to Mr. Gu one second, Gu Shaoting had a good expression on his face, but his face lost all expression the next second.

Looking at his cold face, he drove the car very fast, and then suddenly stepped on the brakes hard after turning. With the screeching sound of the wheels rubbing against the ground, he suddenly stopped. This series of actions was too unexpected.

Come on, Shu Pan couldn't keep up with the rhythm, and looked at him with a pair of big dark eyes.

Seeing that he remained silent, Shu Pan finally plucked up the courage and said, "If it's inconvenient, I'll take a ride back by myself."

"What? You don't know? I'm just pretending in front of grandpa. Could it be serious? Do you think I will make a special trip to send you home?"

When he said the last sentence, Gu Shaoting's tone contained a hint of sarcasm.

"I didn't take it seriously. If it's so painful every day, why not get a divorce?" Shu Pan's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her hand subconsciously tightened her belt.

She didn't dare to move, for fear that tears would fall down her face if she moved.

"Don't even think about whether you've found your next wife or not. If you want to divorce in such a hurry, I just don't agree with you. To tell you the truth, don't even think about it!" Gu Shaoting's voice sounded again, harsh and sharp.

Because of Shu Pan's words, Gu Shaoting took a deep breath after speaking. How could this woman have such naive thoughts? Didn't she know that seeing her father and daughter in pain and torture made him feel happy?

"I have something to do later and have made an appointment with a friend. You can take the car home by yourself." At this moment, he just wanted to have a drink to calm down the anger in his heart.

Shu Pan silently wanted to open the car door, but she couldn't find the handle for a long time. Seeing her like this, Gu Shaoting, who was sitting next to him, suddenly ran out of patience. He got out of the car, walked around to the passenger seat, opened the door, and Shu Pan got out.

Behind the car, he closed the door forcefully, strode around the front of the car, and got back on the car. Then without any hesitation or pause, he accelerated and stepped on the accelerator. The car sped away like an arrow from the string.

Shu Pan stood on the side of the road, shivering in the cold wind. This place was a suburb, with not many pedestrians and even fewer cars. She gasped several times. Gu Shaoting's car was nowhere to be seen. There were only all kinds of different vehicles with flashing lights.

The red light passed in front of her quickly and slowly.

After waiting for a long time, a taxi finally came. As if seeing a savior, Shu Pan quickly waved and the taxi finally stopped.

"Master, go to Shuimu Tsinghua Community." Shu Pan finally let go of his worries. Fortunately, a car came. He touched his belly with his hand and couldn't help but curse Gu Shaoting in his heart: Baby, you have a bad father.

Because of her father's affairs, even if Gu Shaoting treated her like this, she was happy with it. She owed it to him.

For some reason, Shu Pan suddenly thought of the scene of dinner at the Gu family's old house tonight. Gu Shaoting opened the dining table for her like a gentleman, served her favorite soup with his own hands, and helped her put her favorite dishes, with a doting tone.

It really makes Shu Pan unable to distinguish the true from the false.

He behaved impeccably, and he looked like a good husband who doted on his wife. He coaxed his grandfather who even dreamed of letting her live a peaceful life with him, not to mention how happy he was.

Seeing her grandfather happy, the servants in the Gu family's old house were also happy, and she was always smiling, looking happy and satisfied, but no one knew how tormented she was inside.

Because she knew that he was just acting.

However, even though she knew it was all a show, her heart still throbbed uncontrollably.

Because she loves him very much.
