Chapter 903 Deception

Time flies by like a white horse, and quietly it is more than a month.

On this day, the autumn air is crisp and the sun is shining brightly.

The grasslands are full of wildflowers swaying in the wind, colorful and vibrant, and even the air is filled with the fragrance of grass and soil, which makes people feel relaxed and happy, and they can't help but want to ride horses and have fun.

The grassland outside Hanwang City has lost its peace and beauty in the past. It has turned into a large construction site, markets, houses, streets, etc., spread out along both sides of the city, built along the water, including monuments, schools, hospitals and other supporting facilities.

Work has also started, with tens of thousands of people sweating profusely but full of energy.

The palace of the Han Dynasty has issued an order that as long as you put in the effort, you can buy a house at the cost price. They are all blue-brick houses. Only noble families are entitled to enjoy these things. Who wouldn't want to? Who wouldn't work hard for it?

On the city wall.

Qin Huaidao rarely had time to get some air, and quietly looked at the busy construction site. His heart was full of a sense of accomplishment. His eyes gradually looked into the distance, and suddenly he found a small voice on a small hillside, who was digging something alone. His heart moved.

He waved Wei Shuwan forward and asked, "What is that?"

Wei Shuwan had just taken charge of the secretarial supervision and did not know many things. He hurried to ask, and soon returned and explained: "Brother Jin Yiwei said it was Master Xuanzang."

"Xuan Zang?"

Qin Huaidao reacted and smiled. This guy can even study boring scriptures thoroughly and recite them backwards. He is a man of real ability. If he can be recruited to do ideological work and educate the people to be loyal and patriotic, he might be of great use.

Said: "It seems that he chose to build a dojo there. Let's go and have a look."

Jin Yiwei accompanied them on guard, and the group left the city and galloped on horseback.

Not long after, everyone came to a stop on the hillside.

When Xuanzang saw someone approaching, he threw away his tools and stepped forward, saluting solemnly: "My name is Xuanzang. I don't know what you call me, and what are you doing here?"

Qin Huaidao rushed forward and looked at Xuanzang. Perhaps because of his long travels in the Western Regions, his face was covered with vicissitudes of life and his skin was dark, but his eyes were clear and energetic. He was a persistent man who had not been afraid of hardships and had studied scriptures in the Western Regions for several years.

This is rare and admirable in the world.

There was a cave halfway up the hillside. It looked like it had been dug by someone. Weeds were piled inside, like a temporary residence. Qin Huaidao pointed to the cave and asked, "You're going to live in there?"

"For a monk, all four elements are empty. A shelter from the wind is enough."

Qin Huaidao became interested and asked: "I heard that you came back from studying in Tianzhu and are proficient in the meaning of Buddhist scriptures. Your ability to interpret scriptures is unparalleled in the world. I want to ask you. Buddhism talks about compassion. Giving joy is called 'compassion', showing mercy to all living beings, and uprooting all living beings."

Suffering is 'sorrow', and all living beings suffer, so what does the Buddha do to make people happy?"

"Amitabha! It turns out that the king of Han is in front of him, and the poor monk is polite." Xuanzang bowed solemnly.

Qin Huaidao waved his hand and asked: "There is no need for more benefits. I don't stick to trivial matters. I will think about it before answering. As for asking for inner freedom, inner wealth, spiritual happiness, etc., let's not talk about it. It's too empty. A person is poor.

He is starving to death. Tell him not to be sad or sad. He is not as happy as a steamed bun."

"This?" Xuanzang was a little confused.

Buddhism's pursuit of great freedom actually teaches people to let go of material enjoyment, to seek inner perfection, no hindrance in progress or retreat, and to be free from worries. These are all spiritual things. It teaches people to let go, have no worries, and stay away from worries.

How can we stay away from troubles when we are about to starve to death?

Xuanzang was at a loss for words. If he was debating with his colleagues, he could talk about the truth that peace of mind and happiness come naturally. But Qin Huaidao blocked this road and had no way to answer. You can't say that the Buddha gave everyone a steamed bun, right?

It would be bad not to answer. After thinking about it, Xuanzang said: "I am a Buddha who cuts meat to feed eagles..."

Qin Huaidao listened immediately and interrupted directly: "Stop, this is not okay, eating human flesh for the common people is an evil act. It is teaching people to do evil and violates the ethics. Besides, eating human flesh will not make people happy, and commanding is even more painful.

You don’t have a few kilograms of meat on you, what will you do if all the monks in the world eat up their meat?”

"This... what the poor monk said." Xuanzang was speechless for a moment.

Qin Huaidao continued: "My second question to you is that Confucianism talks about benevolence and righteousness, establishes common ethics, and educates people to observe etiquette. Farmers keep people well fed, doctors keep people safe from diseases, and military strategists keep people safe from foreign enemies.

What about you? What value do you have to the people?"

"My Buddha advises people to do good..."

"This is useless. It's too vain and idealistic to persuade people to do good. It's just empty talk. It's not as practical and effective as Confucianism's formulation of the Three Guidelines and Five Constant Rules to let people know what they can and cannot do. It's not as practical and effective as Legalism's formulation of laws and regulations to punish evil and promote good.

, talk about other values?" Qin Huaidao interrupted directly.

Xuanzang was confused again. The meaning of Buddhist scriptures flashed through his mind. Apart from advising people to do good, he really couldn't find anything concrete and directly meaningful. For a moment, he felt a little relaxed.

The Dharma you have been striving for all your life has no practical significance?

Qin Huaidao was a little disappointed, but also felt a sense of accomplishment. This is an eminent monk who has traveled all the way to the west to seek Dharma and is an invincible master in debating scriptures. Who can ask? He couldn't help but continue: "I will ask you one last question. If everyone in the world prays to the Buddha, what will happen in the world?"

What will happen?”

"Amitabha, if everyone worships the Buddha, the world will surely become a paradise and a pure land." Xuanzang said this question and his spirits were immediately lifted, and his decadence was swept away.

The two questions just mentioned were a bit out of line for Xuanzang, but they are familiar.

Qin Huaidao laughed when he heard this: "Is there really a paradise? You come from India, where everyone believes in Buddhism and worships Buddha, but they fight and fight every year. The Maurya Empire, the Gupta Empire and now the Rong Dynasty have appeared one after another. The people are in dire straits.

When civilization comes to an end, for you, is Tianzhu a paradise?"

"This..." Xuanzang felt that his Taoist heart was cracking. He couldn't tell lies with his eyes open, right?

Qin Huaidao continued: "Xuan Zang, please remember that Buddha can persuade people to do good and make people spiritually rich and comfortable, but he cannot save the world or the people. Therefore, I will not support you in promoting Buddhism, but I will not stop you from spreading it.

, only by comparison can we know the pros and cons, be inclusive and inclusive, and only then can we go a long way, save the people, and make the world a paradise. There is only one theory, and that is science! "

"Amitabha, King of Han, what is science?" Xuanzang's heart moved.

When I left Chang'an and went to the Western Regions, I wanted to find a way to save the sufferings of all the people in the world and make them happy and away from suffering. Now it seems that there is a far cry from this.

Qin Huaidao fooled around and saw that the effect was good, he was happy: "Science is empirical science, it is the phenomenon and law of the universe, it is invention and creation, what I practice is science!"

"The King of Han is talking about that powerful explosive thing, that sharp weapon?"

"Report——"

When a person comes on a flying horse, he clasps his fists and reports.

Qin Huaidao signaled the other party to wait, and smiled at Xuanzang: "What you see is just the appearance. Pay close attention to the development of Hanzhou. Maybe the great wish you made when you left Chang'an to save the common people can be realized. Color is not necessarily empty, and emptiness is not necessarily empty."

It’s sex, slowly realize it.”

After saying that, he pulled the horse's head and left. Don't be impatient when trying to trick people, especially people with such great abilities. You have to take your time.

"Form is not necessarily empty, and emptiness is not necessarily color?"

"Amitabha!"

Xuanzang fell into a wonderful epiphany, motionless and looking deeply.
