Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Picking up bastards and picking up men

Su Jinxiu put her things away and clapped her hands to stop Su Shangwu who wanted to slip out.

"What are you going to do? It's so late, go to bed quickly, I have something else to do tomorrow!"

Su Shangwu looked impatient and licked the candied haws.

"I'm going to covet Su Shuanzi..."

The second wife usually shows off everything in front of him, but now that he has the opportunity, he has to let them taste what it's like to be able to see but not eat.

Seeing Su Jinxiu looking at him, he went to wash up even though he was reluctant.

Li Zhaodi looked at the big and small bags in the room and asked Su Jinxiu a few questions.

Su Jinxiu didn't elaborate, she just said that she sold the fish.

She boiled the medicine, squeezed a drop of spiritual spring water into it, and gave it to Li Zhaodi.

"In two days, ask a doctor to come and take a look at it for you.

Your body has never been very neat."

Li Zhaodi took the medicine and smiled.

"Mom is fine, just drink two doses of medicine and you'll be fine. Don't waste money.

Now that you have the ability, the money you earn can be saved for your dowry."

Before she could finish speaking, Su Shangwen sat up and overturned the medicine bowl.

"Su Jinxiu, it's not enough for you to kill your father? Do you want to kill your mother?"

Not a drop of the medicine was left, but Su Jinxiu didn't feel bad.

What I feel distressed about is that drop of spiritual spring, only one drop per day!

Li Zhaodi wanted to say Su Shangwen, but Su Jinxiu shook her head.

Su Shangwu came in and saw this situation. He didn't say anything and took a broom to clean the floor.

Su Shangwu bit his lip as he watched the lights in Su Jinxiu's room go out.

He took out a few cold wontons from his pocket and handed them to Li Zhaodi and Su Shangwen.

"Mom, brother.

She didn't run away and bought me wontons and candied haws.

She didn't eat anything herself, so she saved some food for us."

A few cold wontons, Li Zhaodi held them like treasures.

"Well, Mom knows she is good."

Su Shangwen remained unmoved, gritted his teeth and turned his back.

"If you are bribed with this small favor, you will cry sometimes in the future."

He once thought that Su Jinxiu was a good sister, but she got the price of being blind.

Su Jinxiu squinted for an hour, hearing no movement outside, and then went out.

Taking advantage of the darkness, she went to the reed marsh again.

There are many people during the day, so things are easier to do at night.

Entering the reed swamp is like being blind.

Fortunately, she was able to avoid the undercurrent with the sound of wild ducks as a guide.

The harvest from this nest was good, and I caught two tortoises as soon as I took action.

Then, I caught a few more fish.

After she finished stringing the string, she suddenly felt something float to her leg.

It was tickling when it hit her leg.

She thought it was a big tortoise and scooped it up with one hand.

A human-shaped object with black hair and red clothes was pulled out.

Dark night, water ghost.

Su Jinxiu's hair stood on end and her back felt cold.

The tortoise in his hand was smashed down hard.

After hearing two muffled groans, Su Jinxiu came to her senses. Was he a human?

She carried the fish and dragged the man out of the reed swamp.

When they arrived at the shore, they happened to meet Su Shangwu who was looking for her with a torch.

Su Shangwu looked at Su Jinxiu and the people at her feet, and was surprised.

“Shall we just make fish balls?

Humans, human meatballs, cannot be used."

Su Jinxiu gasped and brushed her hair away.

He is a young man with sharp eyebrows, deep eye sockets and a high nose.

With her thin lips and bright red lips, she looked like a seductive male temptress in a book.

Before he could take a closer look, a trace of blood flowed down his forehead.

Su Jinxiu quickly stood up and greeted Su Shangwu.

"Go and borrow a bullock cart to see the doctor, or someone will die."

Fortunately, it was midnight and everyone in the village was asleep, so no one noticed their movements.

The two found a pharmacy in the city, knocked on the door, and carried the man inside.

The doctor looked at it carefully and pinched his goatee.

“There were a lot of skin injuries on the body, but they were not fatal.

It's just that the hematoma on the head is a bit difficult to treat. I'll prescribe some medicine for you first.

If the hematoma disperses later, it will be fine. If it does not, it will be fine.

Then, prepare for the funeral!"

After just a few days of taking the medicine, her entire savings was gone, and Su Jinxiu was in great pain.

But thinking that the culprit was herself, she didn't say anything.

We walked around for a while until it was already dawn when we got home.

Li Zhaodi got up and opened Su Jinxiu's door.

When I saw a man on the bed, I screamed in fright.

"Oh, my dear mother, what is going on?"

Su Jinxiu slept on the table and briefly talked about last night's situation.

Finally, I sighed.

"Now we can only wait for him to wake up, ask him where his home is, and send him back."

She boiled medicine for Li Zhaodi, dripped some spiritual spring water and watched Li Zhaodi drink it.

When he turned around, he saw the man's face was burning red.

She was afraid something would happen and the spiritual spring water would be gone again today.

I can only take two tortoises and fish with me to find the doctor.

The doctor came to Su's house panting, took the man's pulse, and prescribed two doses of antipyretic medicine.

It's still the same saying, if you can get through it, you'll be fine; if you can't, go to the coffin shop.

Li Zhaodi's face was full of worry, fearing that Su Jinxiu would be killed.

He pulled Su Jinxiu and whispered.

"Jinxiu, if anyone asks, just blame my mother for this."

Li Zhaodi said, suddenly frowning and covering her mouth.

It's painful to watch.

Su Jinxiu quickly stopped the doctor and asked him to take a look at Li Zhaodi.

Li Zhaodi waved her hands, saying that she had nothing to do.

The doctor stretched out his hand to feel her pulse, and after a while, he touched his goatee.

"Oh, congratulations, it's almost four months since I've been pregnant with my pearl.

My Qi and blood are severely depleted, but my pulse is stable, which is strange."

After listening to the doctor's words, Li Zhaodi took a step back in disbelief.

After giving birth to the two Naofumi brothers, her stomach had been silent.

Unexpectedly, I am pregnant now.

If Jinxiu's father was still here, he would be extremely happy.

But, with the family like this now, how can we survive with one more mouth?

Su Jinxiu helped Li Zhaodi sit down and patted her shoulder.

"Your mission from now on is to take good care of yourself and the baby in your belly.

No more random thoughts, you know?"

Li Zhaodi wiped away tears and nodded.

Su Shangwu stood by the door. It took him a while to recover, and he jumped up happily.

"That's great. I'm a brother too. I'll go tell him."

Su Jinxiu saw the doctor off and happened to meet Jiang Chunlan.

Jiang Chunlan handed Su Jinxiu an egg with a smile and looked at the doctor thoughtfully.

"Jinxiu, Third Aunt will give you an egg to replenish your health.

Why are you calling me doctor? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"

Su Jinxiu blocked Jiang Chunlan's appraising gaze and pushed the doctor out.

"It's nothing. My injury didn't heal properly. Mom was worried and asked the doctor to take a look."

After watching the doctor walk away, he closed the door and returned to the backyard.

Jiang Chunlan took back the egg in her hand, and the smile on her face disappeared.

Just now I heard people crying and laughing in the backyard. Su Jinxiu said she was looking at her injuries and coaxing ghosts.

In the evening, Su Jinxiu stewed a pot of fish soup, cooked braised pork, and steamed white rice.

She gave Su Shangwu a piece of braised pork and ordered.

"There is an extra baby in your mother's belly. You are not allowed to tell anyone else."

The fetus is sitting firmly, and I am afraid that others will cause trouble.

Su Shangwu listened to Su Jinxiu's words now. He picked up the braised pork and stuffed it into his mouth. His mouth was full of oil.

"I'm a little stupid, but not stupid."

While I was eating, I heard Su Shuanzi howling outside.

"Mom, I want to eat meat."

Su Afang pretended to answer: "Hey, your uncle loved you the most before.

If he were still here, the meat would be delivered to your door right now."

Over the years, Li Zhaodi has become accustomed to being sucked blood by the second and third bedrooms. After hearing these words, she felt a little sorry.

"Jinxiu, I'll give them two yuan."

Su Jinxiu stopped Li Zhaodi and glanced at Su Shangwu.

"What are you giving me? A white-eyed wolf that you don't know how to raise."

Su Shangwu understood and said loudly.

"The braised pork is so delicious, I can't help but feel the oil in my mouth."

With Su Shuanzi's howling, the whole family finished their dinner happily.

Su Jinxiu tidied up and went back to the house to rest.

Looking at the man on the bed, thinking about the baby in her mother's belly.

Suddenly I have two more mouths, which is so sad.
