116 Formation of female cavalry

The next day, brand new notices were posted in every major square in Paris.

One is the Lion of the Bastille, a battlefield magician's notice recruiting officers, requiring those who have received formal officer education and have a regular military rank.

This notice did not arouse much discussion, because everyone knew that the new military commissioner for the Konta region was short of officers.

The people in Paris have long told the story of Frost's promotion of the sergeant to become a non-commissioned officer. Almost everyone in the city knows that Mr. Frost's non-commissioned officers were promoted from the sergeant to the rank of sergeant.

With such troops, Mr. Frost was able to teach Konta's "tens of thousands" rebels a lesson, so he was called the "Magician of the Battlefield."

Now Mr. Frost has begun to recruit officers, which is a matter of course. You can't always fight with an army composed entirely of large soldiers. You must have some officers.

So this notice did not trigger much discussion.

Another notice says otherwise.

This notice was also posted by the Lion of the Bastille and the battlefield magician of Konta. The content of the notice was to recruit strong women to join the cavalry force that was about to be formed.

This notice stirred up a thousand waves, and everyone was talking about it.

"What can a woman do? Even the Lion of Bastille is blind sometimes!"

"You don't understand. He is settling for the next best thing. Look, there is no cavalry now. Lafayette's National Guards are all infantry! So Mr. Frost sees that His Majesty's Female Cavalry Regiment is performing well. We decided to expand our staff!”

"Humph, I don't think so. He wants to recruit serious cavalry. How can he not recruit serious cavalry with his reputation? He just wants women. He is not married yet. He probably wants to use this name to attract young ladies from good families. Recruit them all!"

"Let women go to war. I think this big France is a pill!"

"You can't say that. Isn't Joan of Arc a woman? I think Mr. Frost is planning to create a military Joan of Arc. Think about it, will he have any rivals by then? A military Joan of Arc?" !”

While the crowd was talking a lot, the major forces in Paris were also trying to figure out what Mr. Frost was trying to do with his notice.

Among them, Lafayette was the most confused.

He paced back and forth in his study: "Recruiting female cavalry? What does this mean? If he wants cavalry, go directly to the tavern to find it! There are so many idle hussars in Paris now, drinking in taverns all day long..."

General Bouye, who happened to be visiting Lafayette, also crossed his arms and looked confused.

General Bouye came to Lafayette because of the recent mutiny in Nancy. During this mutiny, Lafayette supported General Bouye's suppression, so Robespierre and the others caught him.

General Bouye made a special trip to thank Lafayette for his support.

General Bouye: "Could it be that he had some experience with the ladies of the ceremonial soldiers given by His Majesty the King?"

Lafayette shook his head: "How is that possible! Compared with the serious hussars, the only advantage of those ceremonial ladies is that they have better military discipline."

General Bouye was silent.

Lafayette paced back and forth in the room, and after thinking for a long time, he said, "Could it be that this is a smoke bomb he fired?"

General Bouye: "How do you say that?"

"I don't know. He might just want us to guess and ponder his intentions, and then ignore his real purpose."

General Bouye frowned: "What other intentions can he have? He is going to Konta, which is so far away from Paris. It can be said that it has nothing to do with Paris politics. What other intentions can he have?

"I really don't understand why he went to Konta. In Paris, he wants prestige, prestige, and power... Prestige in Paris means power!

"He can't really be worried about the situation in the Konta area, right?"

Lafayette pursed his lips: "Did we all misjudge him? He is really a person who cares about revolution and is indifferent to personal fame and fortune? Then what is he trying to recruit female soldiers for?"

Bouye: "Maybe... he's very lecherous?"

**

"This is absolutely impossible!" Robespierre said categorically, "He is not a womanizer. If Mirabeau had posted such a notice, I would definitely suspect that his motives were impure!"

Dandong: "Then why is this? Female soldiers are definitely not as good as male soldiers in fighting. After all, women, right, always have a few inconvenient days every month, and everyone's time is different, so they can't concentrate.

Get up and avoid it.”

It was still early at this time, and there were some representatives of the National Assembly of the Montagnards gathered in the Jacobin Abbey. They would gather in the club like this to discuss things before going to the parliamentary venue next to the Tuileries Palace.

Regarding Frost's new notice, the representatives of the Mountain Sect also had different opinions and could not come up with a unified view for a while.

At this time, Marat walked into the monastery hall with wind.

"Everyone!" Marla said to everyone with excitement, "Do you know Andy's new announcement? This announcement is really great!"

The representatives looked at Mara with puzzled faces.

Robespierre asked on behalf of everyone: "What is a good way?"

"It's equality!" Marla said with excitement. "Andy experienced marching to Versailles and saw the power of women! So he used this way to show us that men and women should also be equal!"

The representatives looked at each other: "Equality..."

"Yes, the equality we propose should not be limited to men. Women are also equal! Andy uses this way to remind us of this! Since women can fight on the battlefield like men, what else is there?

What about those who cannot be equal?”

Dandong clapped his hands vigorously: "Yes! He is reminding us that the current laws are all made from the perspective of men. We should make another law to stipulate that women also enjoy equal rights!"

Immediately, one representative frowned: "You mean to give women the right to vote? Isn't that inappropriate?"

"Yeah, what knowledge do you ladies have!"

Robespierre said loudly: "No! The latest decree has stipulated that citizens who can pay a prescribed share of taxes are active citizens and have the right to vote.

"If women can pay the required taxes, they should be recognized as active citizens! Andy must be trying to remind us of this!"

Robespierre paused and sighed: "Although he is about to leave Paris to guard the turbulent areas, he is still concerned about the important matter of constitution!"

Danton: "Who can not care about the establishment of the constitution? This is a major event related to the future of France."

Marat: "I propose that we drink a toast to Mr. Andy Frost, who has always been concerned about the future of France! I wish him eternal health!"

"good!"

"Have a drink!"

After a while, the waiter poured wine for all the gentlemen.

So everyone, led by Robespierre, raised their glasses together: "I wish our Mr. Frost always good health!"
