150 King of Hussars

An Ning quickly said sorry to the painter David and then left the room.

David didn't say anything and came out right after.

In the square of the monastery, there was indeed a group of hussars.

The military uniform of the hussars is very gorgeous. It is said that this uniform has been handed down since the time of "Attila". It consists of two jackets called Dorman and Perris, which look like one piece of clothing. Half draped around the body as a cloak.

It is said that many nobles became hussars because of their gorgeous uniforms.

Of course, the uniforms of the hussars are also quite expensive. After all, there are so many buttons and densely arranged lines on the uniforms, which require a lot of man-hours to sew. If it is made by a relatively famous tailor, such a uniform may be as expensive as a horse uniform. Good horses come at a price.

Because of this, most members of the Hussars are either rich or noble, and many of them will hire famous tailors to make their own exclusive uniforms.

In addition to their beautiful appearance, hussars are also famous for another characteristic: very poor military discipline.

This is also a common problem of troops in this era who need additional subjective initiative.

A "standard hussar" is generally proficient in eating, drinking, prostitution and gambling, and regards charging on the battlefield as an exciting game.

Antoine Louis Charles La Salle is the most typical hussar and is known as the "King of Hussars".

An Ning recognized La Salle at a glance because he loved smoking and never left his pipe.

Moreover, his pipe was very big, and the holder was so long that it looked like a scimitar in his hand.

Seeing An Ning, La Salle immediately straightened his body on horseback, held his head high, and assumed the posture of a cavalry officer: "Look, the bravest man in France is here! Salute to you, General Frost!"

When he spoke, the two mustaches around his mouth trembled, making him look like a cartoon character.

To be honest, this was the first time An Ning had seen someone grow a beard shaped like a mammoth's teeth in real life.

An Ning: "I don't dare to take it seriously. I'm a little surprised. They told me that if Lafayette is killed, all the nobles will stay away from me. Aren't the hussars mainly composed of nobles?"

La Salle: "This is a reasonable inference! But hussars also admire warriors. Warriors who single-handedly charge against 40,000 enemy troops are naturally attracted to hussars!"

After the words fell, the hussars behind La Salle cheered together: "That's right!"

"Salute to your courage!"

Well, it seems that there are rumors outside that An Ning single-handedly charged at 40,000 enemies. Maybe the rumor is that he single-handedly killed 40,000 Lafayette soldiers.

An Ning: "You are welcome to join. Let me tell you the truth, we are very short of cavalry now, very short!"

In this era, the communication between reconnaissance and troops basically relied on cavalry. The number of cavalry determined to a certain extent how large an area an army could control.

Without cavalry, the army would be blind.

La Salle: "Now that you have the cavalry, if you need it, I can write to a few cavalry officers I know well and persuade them to bring their troops here!"

An Ning: "Then it's up to you!"

Lasalle saluted An Ning again, and then he seemed to be unable to bear the urge to smoke anymore. He picked up the cigarette holder, took a long puff, and then blew out a smoke ring with a satisfied look on his face.

After taking a sip, La Salle added: "By the way, I heard that your cavalry are all ladies. Would you be honored to meet them?"

An Ning suddenly became alert.

Damn, the hussars with the worst military discipline asked where the female soldiers were as soon as they arrived. Is this a pig looking for a cabbage?

An Ning: "I am very short of cavalry right now, and every cavalry is valuable combat power to me. Please don't cause my cavalry to lose numbers outside of combat, La Salle!"

Lazarus laughed loudly, and even the hussars behind him laughed together, as if An Ning had just had a sense of humor.

After laughing, Lazarus waved his pipe and said to An Ning: "Don't worry, General Frost, our hussars are only interested in good wine and going to battle to kill the enemy! I can't wait any longer. When will you go to Paris?"

There are also Bouye’s Royal Army, as well as the Austrians and Prussians, you lead us and kill them to pieces!"

Good guy, is this guy still a war maniac?

An Ning wanted to help her forehead, but she always felt that she had set up a trouble-making machine.

An Ning: "Don't worry, there will be many battles in the future. If my guess is correct, there will be continuous turmoil in the future, and soon there will be too many battles to make people tired."

La Salle was overjoyed: "That's great!"

Damn it, this war maniac, actually said that would be great?

Then La Salle said his signature line to An Ning: "I have always thought that a hussar who lives over thirty years old is a complete bastard! So you can use me as much as you like and send me to the most dangerous place."

Wherever I go, let me dance with death!"

An Ning wanted to hold his forehead: "No, no, your first mission is reconnaissance, and the hussars are an important reconnaissance force."

La Salle: "Of course, including reconnaissance! Hahaha, leave it all to me! But there is an important issue now. My brothers and I ran hundreds of miles to join you. Now we need to rest. I should go find it.

Who wants a military camp?"

An Ning turned to Lazar Cano and said, "Arrange a military camp for him, and be careful to stay away from female soldiers."

Lazar Cano nodded, then took a step forward: "Come here, I will take you to the barracks."

Then Carnot walked to the hitching post, untied his horse, climbed on it and left the monastery.

The hussars saluted An Ning one after another and then left.

An Ning watched this gorgeous army rumble away and let out a long sigh.

La Salle was a very outstanding cavalry officer. If he had commanded a cavalry brigade, there would have been no more powerful person than him during the entire Revolution.

Even Murat couldn't compare with him.

But the problem is that Murat has the talent of a marshal, but Lazarus does not have this talent. As long as the troops under his command exceed one division, there will be problems.

So in real history, although he had known Napoleon very early and performed extraordinary feats under Napoleon - in the decisive battle of Rivoli, La Salle had just left Adige with two regiments of six to seven hundred hussars.

The six thousand Austrian troops in the valley, and then with the cooperation of the artillery commanded by Napoleon himself, forced the enemy to retreat into the valley.

However, such a fierce general did not receive the rank of marshal until his death, and the highest he could achieve was that of major general.

So Napoleon also saw that this man could only be a cavalry detachment commander.

Tranquility, who is familiar with all this, certainly knows how to use Lazarus.

However, both were famous French generals who were famous for their cavalry. An Ning hoped to get Murat more than Lazarus.

An Ning was thinking about this kind of thing and kept watching the hussars disappear outside the monastery gate. Then he turned around and saw the painter David drawing something with a sketchbook.

An Ning: "What are you drawing?"

David: "I'm recording history. 'General Frost meets his future cavalry commander.' What do you think?"

An Ning: "How are you sure he is my cavalry commander?"

"Because he looks like a typical hussar, rude, reckless, and heroic." David smiled, "Don't you think so?"

An Ning also smiled: "Yes. But the cavalry commander of my dreams has not arrived yet. When I find him, I will let you know."

David: "I'm looking forward to it!"

An Ning: "Let's go back and continue painting your painting!"

"Okay!" David said enthusiastically.

At this moment, Beethoven rode into the monastery.

"General Frost! I've finished that piece of music! Please listen to it!"

An Ning looked at Beethoven: "Okay, come in, it just so happens that no one is using the piano here."
