210 The French Republic is born in fire and blood

On February 25, 1793, Robespierre, who had the support of the Paris security commander, Major General Frost, forced the National Assembly to pass the bill to abolish the French king.

A total of four votes were held, and the first three failed. The opposition had already started shouting "long live the king."

Then Anning ordered the Paris Self-Defense Forces defending the National Assembly to fix their bayonets.

Of course, he did not order actual force to suppress it, but said that troops with bayonets looked more heroic.

In this way, under the watchful eyes of the heroic National Guards, the bill was passed in the fourth vote.

A separate parliament established by members of the royal party immediately declared the bill illegal and called on everyone to defend the King of France.

It’s February 26th.

**

In the early morning of the 26th, there was light snow falling in the sky. An Ning was wearing a French army's standard military coat and looked up at the night sky in front of the military camp building.

In front of him, five brigades of 10,000 people brought from Marseille stood quietly in the snow.

At the front of the team were the Sunset Knights and the Elite Marksman Company. The gray uniforms of the Sunset Knights almost blended into the heavy snow, while the Elite Marksman's breech-loading guns still shone golden under the light of the torches.

The whole scene was filled with solemnity.

An Ning murmured to herself: "Why does it happen to be this time?"

This date is so Showa, it is a suitable day for people to go down.

But it is not correct to say that the subordinates are overpowering the superiors, because the current speaker and opinion leader of the National Assembly is Robespierre, an ally of Tranquility.

Seeing that An Ning remained silent, Berthier asked: "Sir, it's already one o'clock, isn't it..."

An Ning raised a hand to stop Berthier from continuing.

Then he glanced at the soldiers standing quietly in the heavy snow and took a deep breath.

"Soldiers!" he spoke, and his voice instantly echoed throughout the square. "Many of you have been fighting with me in Italy for more than a year! While we were fighting bloody battles, the capitulationists and traitors in the country were

Selling the country!"

"Who are the traitors? It's the old nobles, the king! They regard France as their own private property, and they want the emperor named Habsburg to restore their previous rights!

"Soldiers! Can we tolerate this kind of thing happening? No! Today, we will use bayonets to deal with those traitors!"

An Ning heard Napoleon next to him mutter "There are grapeshots."

Forget about your grapeshot!

An Ning: "Soldiers! After today, France will become France for all its citizens! After today, France will no longer have a king riding on everyone's head! Long live the French Republic!"

The soldiers shouted together: "Long live the Republic!"

An Ning: "Now, let's go! Tonight, we have no mercy for the enemy!"

As soon as the words fell, the officers of each unit began to give orders, and the troops began to move out.

An Ning was riding a horse, standing by and watching the troops set off, and suddenly wanted to sing a song.

This scene really looks like a movie made by Japanese people who had a good life.

All that is missing is a piece of background music, "Miluo Yuan water beats wildly, clouds roll over Wushan Mountain..."

An Ning was half a military house in her last life. The military housemates didn't know why, but they would collectively go crazy every year on this day, and turned this very serious event in history into a meme.

This is much earlier than the "no energy" and "you want to drive a warship so quietly" that became popular later.

Because of this, when An Ning saw the current scene, she sighed, "It's so similar."

But it was just a sigh.

**

After the troops were deployed on the street, An Ning rode a horse alone and stood in the Revolution Square. The iron rings on the horse's hooves made a crisp sound on the stone floor.

The Square of the Revolution was originally called the Place Louis XV. After the revolution, it was changed to the Place de la Revolution. In real history, after the restoration of the Bourbon dynasty, the square was renamed the Place de la Concorde.

Yes, it's the Concorde. The Concorde is one of the most famous squares in Paris.

But now, it is still called Revolution Square.

It is said that the royal party plans to rename the square Louis XVII Square after killing all the blue parties to celebrate the return of the royal government.

It's a pity that An Ning has decided not to let this happen.

The noise was approaching.

Suddenly, a young man holding a torch appeared in front of An Ning. He rushed into the square single-handedly and met An Ning on horseback.

An Ning shouted: "Go back, kid!"

However, the child didn't seem to hear him. He turned around and shouted: "Come on!"

While shouting, he waved the torch in his hand.

The next moment, a large number of people carrying torches turned the corner and poured into the square.

The densely packed torches were like a huge wave, sweeping towards the peaceful location from the other end of the square.

An Ning continued to shout loudly: "Everyone! Go back! Don't go any further! There is no need to die in vain for Louis XVII!"

As soon as he finished speaking, someone in the crowd fired a shot, and the bullet hit An Ning in the head. Although it bounced away, the impact still made his scalp numb.

Without saying a word, he turned his horse's head and ran towards his army.

The French army blocked the road on one side of the square and completely occupied the main road in two horizontal lines.

The French troops in the front row maintained a crouching posture, which was a standard two-row gun formation.

Seeing An Ning retreating to the side of the team, Napoleon said: "I told you, your pity will have no effect."

An Ning shook his head: "There are still women and children in the team. I would rather fight with ten times the number of enemies than open fire on them."

Napoleon: "Then shall we withdraw?"

"No, of course not." An Ning shook his head, then drew out his saber, "Everyone, raise your guns!"

While An Ning gave the order, the royalist thugs were still advancing. They sang "Long Live Henry IV" and waved white fleur-de-lis flags - well, in fact, the royal fleur-de-lis embroidery is quite expensive, and most people just do it casually.

Got a white cloth.

An Ning hesitated, and then thought of the young man who first entered the square and formed a "single sword" scene with him.

Napoleon: "Andy?"

An Ning immediately woke up from his reverie, raised his saber high and waved it forward: "Fire!"

The volley fired.

The entire street was immediately filled with the smell of gunpowder smoke caused by incomplete combustion of gunpowder.

The rebels in the front row fell to pieces, but obviously this killing only made them more fanatical.

They howled and fired while charging towards the French line.

At this time Napoleon ordered: "Everyone, make way!"

The well-trained French troops immediately closed their formations to both sides, revealing the 6-pounder cavalry cannon hidden behind the ranks.

Seeing the cannon, the rebels in the front row hesitated.

Napoleon: "Fire!"

The cannon roared, and the sound of the cannon was extremely shocking, enhanced by the echoes of the surrounding buildings.

A hurricane of death spewing grapeshot swept through the streets.

The royal party's attack was immediately shattered.

Even a well-trained Austrian army would be defeated if they were hit by grape bullets at close range, let alone a ragtag group of people.

Napoleon: "Quick, reload!"
