Chapter 30 Battle Deployment!

Early the next morning.

Zhang Dabiao led a battalion of soldiers to finally arrive at Wanjia Town after a long-distance attack all night long.

In the woods on the mountain south of Wanjia Town.

The soldiers are having breakfast to replenish their strength.

What I ate was the dry food I brought, steamed buns and pickles.

In winter, the steamed buns were hard, so the soldiers would put them in their cotton-padded clothes to keep them warm before eating them.

Zhang Dabiao ate two steamed buns with pickles, picked up the water bottle on his waist and drank some water. Only then did he feel that he had regained some strength.

"Everyone should take a break after breakfast." Zhang Dabiao said to the soldiers.

After a while, there was a loud sound of snoring in the woods, and the guard posts were far enough away, so there was no need to worry about exposure.

Zhang Dabiao picked up the telescope and looked in the direction of Wanjia Town. He saw smoke and birds in the whole Wanjia Town, and there were puppet cavalry patrolling the town.

Through the field of view of the telescope, Zhang Dabiao suddenly saw two figures approaching from the bottom of the mountain.

A closer look revealed that it was assault company commander Xu Yonghai and sniper Li Changshun who had returned from conducting reconnaissance in Wanjia Town.

About six or seven minutes later, Xu Yonghai and Li Changshun walked into the woods. They were both wearing black silk gowns and cloth shoes with thousand-layer soles.

The bulging bag on his waist was not concealed at all, and anyone with a discerning eye would know at a glance that it was a 20-shot shell gun.

The puppet soldiers are bullies and shy of the strong. If you dress up and act like you are submissive to the common people, they will think you are easy to bully.

But if you don't have a gun on your body and dress up like a Japanese and puppet plainclothes team, the treatment will be different.

The two walked up to Zhang Dabiao and saluted with a military salute: "Batalion Commander!"

Zhang Dabiao returned the military salute and then asked: "How is the situation?"

“The situation is basically clear!”

Xu Yonghai took a sip of water and said: "What is in Wanjia Town is the Eighth Mixed Brigade Cavalry Battalion of the Puppet Army. It is stationed in the Wanjia Courtyard in the center of the town. There are about one class of puppet troops at the entrances on the east and west sides of the town.

Defensively, this group of puppet soldiers has a weak sense of prevention and has no guard posts outside the town."

Zhang Dabiao: "Is there any other exit from this town?"

"There is no other exit!" Xu Yonghai said in a determined tone, "The buildings in the town are distributed along one street."

In fact, even if there are other small roads entering the town, the Japanese and puppet troops will block the small roads in order to strengthen public security and prevent the infiltration of the Eighth Route guerrillas.

Zhang Dabiao's eyes lit up slightly: "As long as the entrances and exits to the east and west of the town are blocked, the puppet cavalry camp will not be able to escape."

The streets in Wanjia Town are not very wide, so the cavalry cannot exert its power.

After just a little thought, a perfect plan emerged in Zhang Dabiao's mind.

At that moment, Zhang Dabiao called the three company commanders of the first battalion to gather for a meeting. More than ten platoon commanders also attended, and Zhang Dabiao gave the order with full authority:

"There is only one puppet cavalry battalion in Wanjia Town, and the puppet army's combat effectiveness is very weak, so this mission is not difficult."

"But this is only 4 kilometers away from Zhengtai Road. Once shots are fired, the Japanese and puppet troops along Zhengtai Road will definitely rush to help immediately."

"So, we must win this battle quickly, the sooner the better!"

"The longer it is delayed, the worse it will be for us."

Zhang Dabiao placed a branch across the ground to indicate that it represented the streets of Wanjia Town.

"Our target cavalry battalion is stationed in the Wanjia Courtyard on Central Street. The entire street has only two entrances and exits, the east and the west."

Everyone's eyes suddenly lit up. These were more than 300 military horses, and they were also tall horses.

As long as this puppet cavalry battalion is eliminated, these more than 300 horses will belong to the new regiment!

Zhang Dabiao continued: "As long as we block the two entrances and exits, the puppet cavalry camp will become a turtle in the urn, but in order to win the battle quickly, we must outwit it."

"The three companies are to be divided into separate operations."

"The first company entered the town from the west, and I led the second company to enter the town from the east. Before the main force entered the town, we first captured the puppet troops at the entrance of the town."

"As long as no shots are fired at the entrance of the town, the main force of the puppet army in the town will not notice anything unusual."

"After capturing the puppet army at the entrance of the town, the first company and the second company met at the Wanjia Courtyard, surrounded the Wanjia Courtyard, and then attacked and captured the puppet cavalry camp in one fell swoop!"

Zhang Dabiao looked at the third company commander: "The third company bypassed Wanjia Town and exited Zhengtai Road, looking for suitable terrain to prepare for an interception. Use the red signal flare as a signal. When we see the red signal flare, we will retreat immediately. If our actions in Wanjia Town

Quick enough, the battle will be over before the Japanese arrive."

"do you understand?"

The three company commanders shouted in unison: "Understood!"

Later, Zhang Dabiao said to Xu Yonghai: "You just went for reconnaissance. The puppet army is very vigilant, so try not to fire a gun to capture the Japanese at the entrance of the town."

"But if something unexpected happens, don't hesitate and attack immediately!"

Xu Yonghai straightened up: "Yes, battalion commander!"

Zhang Dabiao took out a pocket watch from his pocket, looked at the time, and then looked at the sleeping soldiers behind him, with a look of tiredness on his face.

Said: "It's ten past eight now, wake up the soldiers in an hour."

The three company commanders responded in unison: "Yes!"

Later, Zhang Dabiao looked at sniper Li Changshun: "Changshun, can you read a watch?"

Li Changshun nodded: "Yes, battalion commander."

Zhang Dabiao then handed the pocket watch into Li Changshun's hand: "Okay, wake me up on time at nine ten!"

"Yes, battalion commander..."

I looked at Zhang Dabiao who fell asleep leaning against the tree for a second, and then looked at the sleeping faces of his comrades. Li Changshun was messy in the cold wind. Don't I need to sleep?

An hour later, Li Changshun felt that his upper eyelids and lower eyelids were fighting, and his forehead hit the 98k sniper rifle, making a crisp sound.

Li Changshun shook his head violently to clear his mind quickly, and quickly looked at his pocket watch. It was nine-ten in two minutes.

His eyes were fixed on his pocket watch. When the hands pointed to nine-ten, Li Changshun reached out and pushed Zhang Dabiao's shoulder.

The moment Li Chang touched Zhang Dabiao's body, Zhang Dabiao suddenly opened his eyes.

Li Changshun whispered: "Batalion Commander, the time has come."

"Okay, wake up all the soldiers." Taking the pocket watch from Li Changshun, Zhang Dabiao tightened his tight-fitting cotton coat. It was very effective in keeping out the cold. He didn't feel very cold sleeping in the open air.

Although he only slept for an hour, Zhang Dabiao felt that he was instantly resurrected with full blood, and the fatigue caused by the long journey and a night without sleep was wiped away.

Soon the soldiers were woken up, and the platoon leaders of each company began to assign tasks, and then the soldiers inspected their equipment.

Ten minutes later, all the soldiers were ready.

The first battalion, with each company as a unit, rushed towards the position designated by the battalion commander Zhang Dabiao.
