Jiang Li and Heiba squatted by the ditch to collect wild ducks.
Yao Xiaoqing looked around and said to Jiang Li: "You two, take me along the ditch and take a look above."
"I'll accompany you." Jiang Li said and handed the wild duck to Heiba, picked up the bow and arrow on the ground, and followed Yao Xiaoqing up the ditch.
There are many medicinal herbs in the woods beside the ditch. Yao Xiaoqing collected some Aesculus aesculata, Octagonal lotus and Snake Miemen by the ditch. He put the snake medicine into a sheepskin bag and prepared to move forward.
"Xiao Qing!" Jiang Li grabbed her, "There is someone in front."
Yao Xiaoqing looked up and saw at a glance seven or eight dark-skinned men standing in the bushes more than ten meters away from the two of them, holding weapons in their hands and looking at her and Jiang Li warily.
"Jiang Li, they should be from a nearby tribe. I'll ask them to see what seeds their tribe has?"
"Xiao Qing," Jiang Li hurriedly grabbed her and whispered, "You stay here, I'll go talk to them!" After saying that, he put down his bow and arrow, raised a smile and walked towards the few people.
Yao Xiaoqing stood there and looked at Jiang Li's back, looking at the men warily.
Several people in the bush saw Jiang Li put down his weapons and walked over. A man with a square face walked out of the forest holding a spear. He stopped five or six steps away from Jiang Li.
He raised his spear and pointed it at Jiang Li, "Which tribe are you from? This is the territory of the Fish Tribe. Leave as soon as possible."
Jiang Li found that their language was different from the tribe he met earlier. Looking at the big fish totem painted on his bare arms, he guessed that they were the tribe that migrated from the river.
He took a step forward and said with a smile: "Warrior, I am Jiang Li from the Qingshan tribe. I come to the mountains and forests to look for food seeds. I have no ill intentions towards you."
The man also felt that Jiang Li had no ill intentions, and his hand holding the spear loosened a little. After listening to Jiang Li's jabbering words, he shook his head at him, indicating that he did not understand what he said.
The tribes he met along the way all spoke different languages. Jiang Li had experience in talking to them. He smiled and grabbed some pumpkin seeds from his pocket and made sowing movements.
Only then did the man understand. He stepped forward and took a look at the seeds in Jiang Li's hand. He shook his head repeatedly and gestured to indicate that they did not have such seeds.
Jiang Li now understood what he meant, smiled and made an exchange gesture, handing him the pumpkin seeds.
The man took the seeds and realized that he wanted to exchange them for the seeds of this food.
He has never seen such seeds. Who knows whether the fruits grown can be eaten?
With this thought in mind, he handed the seeds back to Jiang Li and shook his head at him, indicating that he was not willing to exchange them.
Seeing his expression, Jiang Li understood that they didn't believe him, and regretted not bringing the pumpkin.
Several men in the bushes saw the two gesticulating there for a long time, and walked out of the bushes curiously, "Canghe, which tribe is he from, and what are he doing here?"
Canghe shook his head and spread his hands, "He gave us the seeds and said he would exchange seeds with us."
Several people saw the pumpkin seeds in his hand, glanced at Jiang Li curiously, and said to Cang He, "Ask him, what kind of fruits can such seeds grow?"
Canghe turned around and pointed at the seeds and made gestures to Jiang Li.
After looking at it, Jiang Li thought for a moment, understood what he meant, and gestured to him about the size of the pumpkin.
Now everyone in the Fish Tribe understood, and they all looked surprised.
The man standing on the left side of Canghe curled his lips, "He must have lied to us."
Cang He nodded, "I'm also afraid that he lied to us and wanted to return the seeds to him, and you're here again." After saying that, he put the seeds in Jiang Li's hands.
Jiang Li watched for a while and understood what a few people meant, saying that he had seeds and fruits that he could show them.
Seeing those people gathered around, Yao Xiaoqing also walked over, "Jiang Li, what did they say?"
Jiang Li smiled bitterly and shook his head, "He doesn't believe us."
Yao Xiaoqing stepped forward and said to several people: "We didn't lie to you, this is a pumpkin, and the fruit grown is so big."
Canghe glanced at Yao Xiaoqing who was gesturing, and kept looking at the arrows in her quiver.
He looked at Yao Xiaoqing's arrow, then looked at the bow and arrow in his companion's hand, thought for a moment, took one from his companion, handed the arrow to Jiang Li, pointed to the tip of the arrow shaft in his hand, and then pointed to the quiver.
The arrow feathers of the arrows were flying, and he started to chirp at Jiang Li.
Yao Xiaoqing immediately understood what he meant, "Jiang Li, he asked you why our arrows have feathers?"
Jiang Li nodded, showed him the movement of the arrow flying, and told him that the arrow feathers are used to balance and maintain the direction of the arrow.
After hearing this, Canghe bowed to Jiang Li and saluted, pointed at the arrow Yao Xiaoqing was carrying, and made a shooting motion. He wanted to test the difference between the arrow with feathers attached and the one without feathers.
Jiang Li glanced at Yao Xiaoqing, who nodded and took out a stone arrow and handed it to Cang He.
Canghe gratefully took the arrow, turned around and took the long bow handed over by his tribe, put the arrow on the bowstring and pointed it at the big tree in front of him, loosened the bowstring and the arrow flew out.
He found that Jiang Li was right. Arrows with feathers flew faster and more steadily. He excitedly said to his companions: "He is right. Their arrows fly faster than ours."
The people from the Fish Tribe ran over and pulled out the arrow. They took turns trying it again before returning the arrow to Yao Xiaoqing.
The two people's actions of not hiding their secrets won the favor of several people in Canghe.
He gave a thumbs up to the two of them, then turned to the tribesmen around him and said, "Ta, go back and bring our seeds to them."
"Yes!" The man responded loudly and ran quickly towards the hillside.
Yao Xiaoqing glanced at Jiang Li with a smile, "It seems that no matter which tribe they are in, they all like to give thumbs up to praise people."
Jiang Li smiled and nodded, "The leader's name is Cang He. He should have asked that person to go back and get the seeds for us."
Yao Xiaoqing thought of Jiang Li's persistence, "Can you understand what they said?"
"I can understand a little bit more," Jiang Li said.
After more than half an hour, the warrior ran over carrying a leather bag and said, "Canghe, the seeds are here."
Canghe took it, turned around and opened the bag towards Jiang Li, "Warrior, can you see if there are any seeds you want inside?"
Looking at the opening of the bag opened by Cang He, Yao Xiaoqing's heartbeat quickened. He stepped forward and looked at the seeds in the bag. There were millet, beans...
"Jiang Li, I found it." She shouted in surprise, turning to look at Jiang Li with her eyes red.
Canghe looked at Yao Xiaoqing's happy look and felt that what they wanted to exchange was grain seeds.
Jiang Li looked at Yao Xiaoqing's excitement and was very happy, "The Emperor has paid off and you have finally found him."
"Yeah! I finally found it." Yao Xiaoqing nodded heavily, "Jiang Li, give them all our pumpkin seeds and their rice seeds."
Jiang Li nodded and pointed at the grains to Canghe, "Does your tribe still have such seeds?"
