Chapter 4: The Waste Dad and the Bastard

I have read countless records about corpse transformation in my grandfather's books, but I have never experienced it once.

Now that my third uncle is taking me to collect a female corpse that has transformed into a corpse, I am inevitably a little scared.

But then the novelty hit us again. Are there really zombies in the world? Do zombies really attack people? Do they have green faces and fangs, and are they ferocious?

Accompanied by this tense and exciting feeling, the car had a bumpy journey and finally arrived at the destination when the sun was setting in the west.

At the foot of the mountain where the girl died, several villagers dressed in ordinary clothes had been waiting anxiously for a long time. When they saw the car approaching, they gathered around her.

The third uncle acted vigorously and resolutely. He called several able-bodied villagers and asked me to pick up my suitcase from the car and walk up the mountain.

I know that the third uncle is afraid that when the sun goes down and the yin energy rises, no one will be able to cure the female corpse.

But after we walked along the mountain road for more than 20 minutes, we saw a dark figure hanging on an old tree with a crooked neck, swinging back and forth rhythmically.

When we got closer, I don't know if it was blown by the wind or what happened, but anyway, as we were swinging, we unconsciously turned our heads and smiled at us with our purple faces.

I was shocked. Although it was cloudy and the sun was not visible, it was daytime after all. This female corpse dared to tilt her head and look at everyone in broad daylight. How vicious must this be?

And the female corpse can laugh? Wouldn’t it be the smiling corpse that grandpa said?

The third uncle said with a gloomy face: "Don't be stunned. Xiaojiu, bring the things here."

I handed over the suitcase, and my third uncle took out a piece of rope, two spikes, and a bottle of liquor.

The rope is called a corpse-binding rope, the spikes are called corpse-nailing needles, and the strong liquor is made from medicinal wine soaked in various precious medicines and steamed and dried in the hot sun.

He tied the corpse rope around his waist and pinned the corpse pin on his collar. He swung the liquor a few times, handed it to me and said, "It will shock ghosts and gods, do you understand?"

I nodded repeatedly. There were too many dead people in this place and the atmosphere was very dark. My third uncle was also worried that there were some ghosts hiding around, so he sprayed the place with spirits to scare away the ghosts and gods.

After the preparations were completed, the third uncle took out the rope to bind the body and said to the people around him: "Tangle the body with the willow tree, and don't get close to the willow tree, so as not to lose your mind."

The two villagers obediently took the ropes to bind the corpse, one each, and began to circle around the willow tree.

It can be said that this corpse rope was originally a piece of white silk. After it was impregnated with cinnabar, it could become the best shroud.

With the third uncle present, everyone was very courageous, so one person pulled the rope to tie the body and began to wrap it up. After walking around the big tree twice, Xiao Yaner and his arms were tied to the old tree with a crooked neck.

Strange to say, the corpse was originally floating in the wind, but after being entangled in the rope, its nails and teeth swelled, scaring everyone and hurriedly retreating.

At the critical moment, the third uncle came in handy. He took out a half-foot-long nailing needle from his collar, pointed it at Xiao Yan'er's heart with one hand, took the hammer I handed over to him with the other hand, and without any explanation, thrust it into Xiao Yan'er's heart.

Nail it down.

The nailing needle can destroy the muscles and veins of the corpse. You must know that the corpse can still move after death because the muscles, veins and bones have not completely rotted. Now the nailing needle pierced the heart of the female corpse, and she started twitching on the spot and screamed,

A sound like a wild beast.

Everyone nearby was so frightened that they almost dispersed. Some people said with fear, "My grandma, Xiao Yan'er is really good at pretending to be a corpse!"

The female body was tied to a tree, and there was a nail in her heart. Even if it got dark, there would probably be no fuss. I thought that the third uncle should take the body away now, but unexpectedly he broke a needle from the tree.

Willow took out a glass bottle from his waist and placed it near the female corpse's mouth.

Then the third uncle whipped the female corpse hard with a wicker. The female corpse opened her mouth slightly and spit out black air into the bottle.

The black gas was obviously heavier than air, and after being blown into the bottle, it settled at the bottom. The third uncle pumped the bottle more than ten times in a row, and the female corpse spit out more than a dozen mouthfuls of black gas.

It wasn't until he couldn't vomit anymore that the third uncle breathed a sigh of relief and said, "It's done."

Looking at the female corpse again, she had already become sluggish, and her nails and fangs had retracted at some point.

A villager asked cautiously: "Can we collect the corpse now?"

The third uncle said: "Just find a coffin, remove the body and send it to the crematorium. Also, bring the gasoline later and burn the tree together."

A villager said: "It doesn't matter if the body is burned. This tree is a hundred years old. I'm afraid it would be bad if it was burned?"

The third uncle sneered: "This tree has lived for more than a hundred years, and its roots have spread in all directions. I don't know how many women have died, and their flesh and blood have become its nourishment."

"Coupled with the resentment of the dead, this thing is about to become a reality. Look at the lines on the bark, do they look like human faces?"

I looked carefully and found that the lines on the bark looked like women's faces with their eyes closed.

I don't know what happened, but I suddenly remembered Xiao Yan'er's husband who was killed under the tree. It is said that he was mentally disturbed and was killed under the tree alive. I am afraid that he was affected by the magnetic field of this demonic tree.

The villagers must have thought of this incident. The old man with a gray beard waved his hand and said, "Go! Get the gasoline! Two more people will come and untie the body!"

The villagers were busy there, but my third uncle lit a cigarette, waved his hand and called me over, asking, "Are you afraid?"

I shook my head to show that I wasn't afraid.

The third uncle smiled and said: "Much better than that useless dad of yours."

"How many things did you learn from your grandfather?"

When I heard him say that my father was a coward, I felt a little dissatisfied, so I said angrily: "I didn't learn anything from grandpa, but I read a lot of his books."

Third Uncle raised his drooped eyelids and his eyes shone slightly: "How many books have you read?"

I said: "I've finished reading."

In the past six years, I have read basically all the books in my grandfather’s house. I remember some of the strange people and strange things clearly, but my impression of the other academic books about the Five Elements and Bagua is a bit vague.

The third uncle patted me on the shoulder and laughed: "Not bad, not bad, much better than that good-for-nothing dad of yours!"

This was the second time that he scolded my dad. Sometimes he called him a coward, and sometimes he called him a waste, so I couldn't help but show a look of dissatisfaction on my face.

The third uncle said: "Don't be dissatisfied. Before you came here, your good-for-nothing dad must have called me a bastard countless times. Isn't it enough if I just say a few words back?"

I remembered that the night before I left home, my father had indeed scolded me countless times as a bastard. When I thought about it, I felt relieved. Anyway, the two of them were evenly matched after scolding each other.

When the third uncle saw that my face was calm, he reached out and patted me on the shoulder and said, "Eldest nephew, since Mr. Zhang sent you here, I won't be polite to you."

"I'll ask Lao Zhou to take you back later. You can help me look after the store for a few days. If anyone buys wreaths and shrouds, you can tell them to get lost. If anyone comes to ask for help, you will ignore them, no matter how much they pay.

Ignore it, do you understand?"
