Chapter 9 The Way Out

Huo Xi dreamed again. This time she dreamed that she couldn't run anymore and was chased and taken back. She was locked up in a small dark room and deprived of water and rice for several days. After only a few days, she was so hungry that she collapsed.

Then, she died.

There are three coffins, large and small, in the hall above Zhuangzi, namely the mother's, hers, and her brother's.

She shed tears all night long in her dream, and her voice became hoarse from crying.

"Why is this so hot? I still can't wake up! Xi'er, Xi'er!"

Yang got up early in the morning, cooked the porridge early, and laid out the breakfast. The whole family got up, and even the fishing boats docked nearby were rowed away. Xi'er hadn't woken up yet.

The whole family was frightened.

"Where did you take Xi'er yesterday? Why did Xi'er talk nonsense all night and still get angry today!" Yang was so worried that she slapped Yang Fu several times.

Yang Fu's eyes were red, and he felt extremely uncomfortable when he looked at Huo Xi who couldn't wake up.

Wiping away tears: "We just went to the tea shop to drink tea and listen to others talk."

"They must have been in a nightmare after hearing the bad news. Xi'er originally said that she would come to the capital to seek refuge with her relatives, but the relatives were unkind and wanted to sell them, so she escaped. She must have been frightened."

Huo Erhuai frowned, he should have been with them yesterday.

"Then what should we do?" Yang rubbed her hands anxiously.

"We won't be fishing today. Let's take Xi'er to see a doctor now. If it doesn't look good in the outer city, we'll go to the inner city."

"good."

The family was in a hurry and rowed a boat into the city to find a medical center.

Huo Xi was carried into the city by Huo Erhuai. She saw the doctor, was given medicinal soup, and was carried back. Yang changed her clothes and scrubbed her, but she didn't react at all.

Unexamined.

She didn't open her eyes until the sun set over the mountains and the Qinhuai River was filled with golden light.

"Xi'er, Xi'er, are you awake?" Yang Fu was extremely happy and shouted: "Sister, brother-in-law, Xi'er is awake!"

"Xi'er is awake?"

The ship swayed left and right, Yang held Huo Nian in his arms, and Huo Erhuai got into the cabin from the bow and stern respectively.

"Great, Xi'er, you finally woke up! Your father and I were both frightened." Yang stroked her face distressedly and almost shed tears.

Although my life has not been long, I really like this child. I regard her as my own little cotton-padded jacket.

Huo Erhuai watched happily and didn't know what to say. He sat aside and rubbed his hands with joy.

"Nian'er, sister is awake, let's take a look."

Yang held Nian'er and leaned over. Nian'er was babbling. Yang put his little face on Huo Xi's face. Huo Nian was ohing while kissing her sister, holding Huo Xi's face with one little hand.

The other side of the face.

Huo Xi suddenly burst into tears.

"What's going on? Don't cry. Don't cry. Tell your parents if you feel uncomfortable!"

Yang and Huo Erhuai moved their buttocks, sat closer, and asked anxiously.

Huo Xi blinked twice and looked at Huo Erhuai: "Dad, our boat is broken."

"Ah? Where is it?"

"On top."

Huo Xi was lying in the cabin, with a small hole on her head, and the afterglow of the setting sun came in through the hole.

"Oh, it's really broken." Yang, Huo Erhuai and Yang Fu followed her gaze and saw that there was indeed a hole on the top.

"Don't be afraid, dad will fix it right away and won't let Xi'er get caught in the rain."

Huo Xi tilted her head and smiled at him.

Huo Erhuai touched her head and hurriedly got out of the cabin to find something to fill the hole.

Yang held Huo Nian and sat next to her, talking to Yang Fu and greeting her. The gloom in Huo Xi's heart suddenly disappeared.

Huo Xi lay on the boat for two days, drank medicinal soup three times a day, and her illness was cured.

In the past two days, Yang Shi and Yang Fu were all around her, and Huo Erhuai did not go fishing far away for fear that the heavy water vapor would make her condition worse. He only wandered around the inland river, and naturally he did not fish.

Whatever catches we catch, including small fish and shrimps, cannot be sold at high prices, so we just keep them to be dried and eaten at home.

Huo Xi lay there for two days, thinking about his way out.

She had passed through the womb and had no memory of her previous life. It was not until she witnessed her mother being poisoned that day that some memories of her previous life were aroused. Now that she was seriously ill, all the memories came back to her.

She originally thought that after the new dynasty was established, her father, who was guarding the border in the north, would eventually return to the capital. Then she would go find him with her brother in her arms.

However, now the Wu family has been corrected.

Even if she and her brother were taken back and raised in the inner house under the eyes of the Wu family, they would never live long. Her mother died, and so did her grandfather who loved her.

That day, Mrs. Wu grabbed her mother tightly and poured poisoned wine into her mouth. Mrs. Wu wanted her mother to die.

And even if she and Nian'er were alive, if the Wu family found out, they would definitely be eradicated.

There is also a wet nurse, I don’t know if she is still alive. Or she was also killed.

Huo Xi bit her lip to prevent herself from crying. When her nose ran down, she didn't dare to let go, so she wiped it off with her sleeves and covered her face with the quilt.

Huo Erhuai heard the noise and just wanted to stand up when Yang held him tightly and shook his head at him.

Huo Erhuai lay down again.

The couple looked at each other and sighed together. This child is heartbreaking.

Early the next morning, Yang woke up early and wanted to make some medicine for Huo Xi. When she got to the bow of the boat, she was stunned.

"Xi'er? Why did you wake up so early? Are you doing laundry? Come on, come on, come on."

He quickly walked over and grabbed the clothes in Huo Xi's hands, rubbed them twice, turned to her and said, "I'm not fully recovered yet. Come into the cabin and rest."

Huo Xi cried a lot last night. She was covered with a quilt and her clothes were covered with sweat and snot.

"Mom, I'm ready." She said and turned around to add firewood to the small clay stove.

"Mother, come, mother, come." Yang was about to get up, but Huo Xi held her down.

When Mrs. Yang saw that the stove was on, she was afraid that the child had gotten up early to cook breakfast for the family.

"You kid."

Qian Sanduo's family next door also started asking, "Boy Huo, have you recovered from your illness?"

"Uncle Qian, I'm fine." He smiled at the other party and said.

"That's good. You don't know that your illness will make your parents anxious like ants on a hot pot, scurrying around."

People on several adjacent boats also got up one after another and greeted Huo Xi one after another.

Huo Xi looked at the unrelated fishermen around her. They all greeted her early in the morning, and her dead heart came to life again, and she strengthened her thoughts.

She let her go wild and let her go for a few years. When Nian'er grows up and is capable, she will return to the capital to avenge her mother.

"Uncle Qian, Uncle Yu, you have caught crabs these days, can you sell them to my family? My harvest is 10% higher than the market price."

Yang's men paused.

"Ah? From the Huo family, your family collects crabs?"

"Ah? Ah, yes. Hold it, you're screaming." Yang glanced at Huo Xi, saw her eyes firmly smiling at her, and nodded at Qian Sanduo and others by mistake.

"Okay, if you get it, we will sell it to your family tonight."

No matter who sells it, it is still 10% more than the market price. Selling it to the Huo family also saves the time of going back and forth to the city to sell goods. This trip back and forth wastes most of the day's time and delays fishing.

The one with a small number of people was even more willing. They all nodded in agreement.

Huo Xi happily thanked them one by one: "Uncle Qian, Uncle Yu, Grandpa Zou, Xi'er, thank you. If you meet other people you know, please help me and let them bring crabs to sell to my family."

."

"Okay. Remember it."

When Huo Erhuai and Yang Fu got up, they were all stunned when they found out that Xi'er had done such a business for their family so early in the morning.
