Because at that time, 500,000 words was already an astronomical number to me!
Growing up, I felt that the total words I wrote were less than 500,000 words, and when I started this book, I had a playful attitude.
I just thought of a story, then tried to write it, and then mustered up the courage to upload it and publish it. I thought I would be signed, but I didn’t really think much about it. At that time, I just felt that I was probably not qualified.
As a result, the post was really short.
At that time, to be honest, I was confused.
Sign a contract?
I don’t even have an outline!
What do you write when you sign a contract?
But then I thought about it. It is said that it is not easy to sign a contract. Such an opportunity is really rare, so I took courage and wrote a goal of 500,000 words on the contract with a stroke of my pen!
This also appears to be the contractual minimum goal.
Then, I just wrote and wrote, and it became 2.5 million words.
Now that I think about it, it’s really incredible!
This can be considered a great achievement in life.
I never thought that one day I would write a multi-million-word book!
I feel very tough when I go home during the Chinese New Year.
What have you been doing lately?
I didn’t do much, I just went to work, and then I wrote something, not too much, not too much, I probably wrote more than two million words.
Then there is a series of "great achievements"...
But then again.
It took more than 400 days to write this book, and the regrets in it were huge.
For example, writing style, outline, rhythm, etc.
I don’t know how to start, I don’t know how to arrange the plot, I don’t know how to write the emotional line, I don’t know how to write the supporting characters, I don’t even know how to arrange the pretense.
In short, it was my first time to write a book, and I felt that nothing was right. Now that I think about the first few dozen chapters, I wake up in embarrassment...
Then the whole book, to be honest, I didn't have an outline all the way - I set up a temporary outline - I wrote a paragraph to revise the outline - I continued writing and revising it.
Along the way, I am learning while writing.
But if you want to learn it, it won’t be something you can learn in a short while, so I just wrote poorly.
This is just a technical problem, there are other bigger problems, such as psychological and physical problems.
In terms of psychology, after writing a million words, I will really feel a great sense of boredom. I feel like I emo every day and don’t want to do anything every day. Reading some heart-wrenching comments can further catalyze this mentality.
With this kind of mentality, the passion for writing articles will be dissipated again, and the articles will become even worse when written. Then a vicious circle will follow, so gradually, updates will be interrupted and delays will occur, and then subscriptions will also be affected by this.
It went down again, then emo again, and then continued the vicious cycle...
Physically, I have been sitting for a long time without exercising for more than a year. As a result, I gained a lot of weight, developed kidney stones, had various pains in my wrists and neck, and my buttocks felt flat when I sat down.
At the end of this book, I have to keep fit for a while, otherwise my lifespan will be greatly shortened...

In short, I think this book has a lot of regrets, but it is still quite satisfactory. After all, it is the first time.
I can learn a lot from it, and this is all experience.
So if I am going to write the next book, then I think it will be better than this book no matter what.
Here I will set a small goal.
If you want to open the next book, there are a few things you must do.
The first is that you must have an outline. Don’t start the book without thinking, and you can’t continue it while writing like this book.
The second is that you must have a manuscript saved, otherwise it will be too much to think about every day, and the manuscript will need about 50,000 words to ensure continuous updates and cope with additional updates.
The third is to update more than 8,000 words on a certain day, which is more than 30% more than the current number of less than 6,000. I think it can be done.
Anyway, every book should make some progress.
