1324 Old Capital Defense Line

The Tang Empire occupied Dongqing, and the Dahua aborigines in Dongqing City even lined the streets to welcome them. This made the Qin soldiers who were captured not long after the occupation very dissatisfied.

It's a pity that they didn't have the chance to ask these big Chinese people about the reason. They had to leave the city and then build their new home - the prisoner of war camp. They had to leave the barracks and positions to make room for the Tang army.

After capturing Dongqing, all the stumbling blocks on the way for the Tang army to advance were cleared. Hundreds of thousands of troops had already advanced to the outskirts of the old capital of Dahua, and were about to take this large city with a population of one million as their own.

Unfortunately, they ran into trouble! Liu Zhian laid a large number of mines and re-armed hundreds of thousands of Chinese troops, forming a barrier near the old capital.

Compared with the previous Qin army, his performance can be said to be very impressive: the Tang army had to stop and wait for the follow-up mine clearance troops, which bought the Qin army a lot of time.

Liu Zhian did not build a defense line around the old capital. He expanded his defense area as much as possible, forming a rectangular box defense line based on the old capital.

This defense line is about 150 kilometers long, with about 20,000 landmines in front of it acting as a barrier. The Tang army was delayed by the landmines, allowing Liu Zhian time to build several trenches.

Although there are no permanent defenses such as reinforced concrete bunkers, the Qin army finally got rid of the disadvantageous situation of field battles.

Before the arrival of the Tang Army, the Qin Army had been expanding its defense lines and building these defense lines more and more complexly. In order to increase the "solidity" of these defense lines, Liu Zhian also moved out all the sealed Dahua tanks and buried them in the position

It serves as a "bunker".

Liu Zhi'an used almost everything he could use: among the tanks that the Tang Empire provided to Zhao Yu, the No. 4 tank was in good condition. Because the Qin State itself was using it, the paint was changed directly.

Distributed to the troops.

Because the process of allocating troops was very hurried, many of these tanks were simply marked and distributed directly to the Qin army without even changing their numbers.

In addition to these No. 4 tanks, Dahua also had some Leopard tanks. These tanks were provided to Dahua elites at that time and were used as the main force of the armored forces.

Now, they are all in the hands of the Qin army, and in turn they have been dispatched to the front-line troops for use as "elite tank troops."

After all, the Leopard tanks of the Tang Empire are good things. Although they have complex structures, their performance is really good. With these "advanced tanks", the strength of the Qin Army's armored forces has been somewhat restored.

In addition to the No. 4 tanks and Panther tanks, the Dahua army also equipped a large number of self-produced tanks, but the performance of these tanks was not very good.

But Liu Zhian did not waste it. He moved all these tanks with garbage performance to the defense line and used them as much as possible to strengthen his defense line.

When conditions permit, these tanks can be regarded as very powerful bunkers: they are protected by steel plates, have machine guns on the front of the body, and have a turret on the top. They are much stronger and easier to use than ordinary bunkers.

Fully developing firepower requires a very suitable terrain. Under normal circumstances, Liu Zhian can only bury the tank body, leaving only the turret exposed, which wastes the directional machine guns on the body.

In short, on the more than 100 kilometers long defense line, Liu Zhian not only used landmines to delay the attack, but also piled all the weapons and equipment he could find on his defense line.

In addition to landmines and tanks, the Dahua troops also left behind a large number of artillery pieces when they surrendered to Qin. These artillery pieces were actually a valuable asset.

The artillery calibers used by the Dahua Empire themselves are relatively complex, including 75mm caliber artillery from the Cyric Consortium, 100mm caliber artillery, 130mm caliber artillery and 200mm caliber heavy artillery.

In addition, with the assistance of the Tang Empire, Dahua also used the artillery caliber system of the Tang Army: 105 mm caliber howitzers, 155 mm caliber howitzers, as well as the Bumblebee 155 mm caliber self-propelled artillery and 105 mm caliber self-propelled artillery.

The overall quality of Tang's artillery was much better than the imitation artillery purchased by the Great China Empire, but Liu Zhian did not dislike those bad artillery at all and pushed them all to the front line.

The difference is that the artillery aided by Datang was carefully concealed and covered with camouflage nets, and artillery positions were built as much as possible.

As for those artillery pieces made by Dahua that were made with rubbish performance, Liu Zhian placed them in relatively obvious defensive positions. Such an arrangement is actually the utilization of waste. If it can hit a gun, it is a gun. If it is destroyed, it will be destroyed, and it will not matter anyway.

Feeling distressed.

In this way, no matter how powerful the Tang army is, it will take time to clear the mines and kill these weapons and equipment. And what Liu Zhian is delaying here is time! As long as he delays long enough, Qin can mobilize more troops to go to the front line.

, procrastinate for more time!

In short, Liu Zhian's madness did play a certain role. At least the forward troops of the Tang Army significantly slowed down their attack speed after suffering several losses from mines.

The engineering troops of the Tang Army had been building bridges and paving roads in the rear, and their follow-up speed was a bit slow. Now that a minefield appeared on the front line, they naturally had to go to the front to play their role.

When a mine-sweeping unit of the Tang Army appeared on the front line, the Qin Army saw what the efficiency of mine-sweeping was. Many of the mine-sweeping methods of the Tang Army appeared on the battlefield for the first time, and the Qin Army had never even heard of them.

.

After all, the Tang Army was once an expert in using landmines, so they certainly knew how to clear landmines quickly and effectively.

The Tang Army first used armed helicopters and rocket launchers to destroy the surrounding Qin Army positions, and then covered the engineers to begin their operations. The engineers used mechanized mine clearing equipment, and armored vehicles with mine clearing plows installed in front could easily open up a safe passage. Then the Tang Army

This is the breakthrough point, and minesweeper rockets are used to directly detonate the mines on both sides.

The process of clearing mines was earth-shattering. After clearing mines, the Tang army swarmed up and attacked the Qin army's defensive positions. The Qin army relied on the defense line to resist step by step, and its collapse obviously slowed down.

However, for Liu Zhian, the situation is far from being optimistic. After all, he has already used landmines. Under this premise, if the Tang army cannot completely fall into the quagmire of positional warfare, then his efforts will be in vain.

Already.

Gradually, the Tang army, which had cleared all the problems behind them, began to gather near the old capital. The pressure on the Qin army increased, and Liu Zhian finally began to feel the pressure faced by Ying'an and Wang Luo.
