38. Fracture

In December, after a rain, the weather became particularly cold.

A gust of wind blew over and Jiang Qiao sneezed. He walked to the alley and saw Cheng Ruoxi locking the door and walking out with a schoolbag on her back.

Today she was wrapped in a thick pink scarf, and her face was red from the cold. She looked back out of habit and saw Jiang Qiao walking slowly over.

"Jiang Qiao, hurry up, you're going to be late," she urged.

"Why are you so anxious? I don't go to school until 7:20." Jiang Qiao said, "Sister Xi, why are you so late today? Logically speaking, you should be at school by this time."

In Jiang Qiao's impression, Cheng Ruoxi was always the first to go to school to study early.

"I slept late today." Cheng Ruoxi said lightly.

About half a month has passed since the Zhu Guanhua incident, and Cheng Ruoxi's life has returned to calm. She has almost forgotten this person, but accidentally learned from word of mouth among classmates that he dropped out of school and went abroad.

She didn't know if it was true. She didn't take it to heart. She just felt relieved that there were more important people in her life who deserved to be treated with her heart.

The heart is too small and can only hold so many people.

Jiang Qiao walked behind her, and the cold wind blew her high ponytail, bringing with it the scent of shampoo, which smelled like orange.

"Jiang Qiao, aren't you nervous at all?"

She turned her head and looked at the streets in the early morning. There was little traffic, and the people coming and going were all wrapped in clothes and coming and going in a hurry.

"What are you nervous about?" Jiang Qiao asked.

"The monthly exam is coming soon!"

"oh."

"Oh?" Cheng Ruoxi turned around, walked slowly backwards, and repeated what Jiang Qiao said in an exclamatory tone.

The sunlight reflected randomly on the streets after the rain, turning the ground into a mirror.

Cheng Ruoxi stepped on the rain-coated tile, her heel slipped, and her whole body fell backwards as if it had lost friction.

"Hey?!" Her originally happy mood quickly declined.

"Hey!" Jiang Qiao noticed this scene and blurted out in surprise. At the same time, he quickly stretched out his right hand and grabbed her wrist.

But it's no use.

"Ouch!" Cheng Ruoxi groaned in pain and sat down on the ground.

"Are you okay?" Jiang Qiao asked, still holding her hand.

"What do you think?" Cheng Ruoxi was angry and funny. She wanted to use Jiang Qiao's hand to pull herself up, but there was a heartbreaking pain in her tailbone.

"Jiang Qiao, I..." Cheng Ruoxi cried in pain.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Qiao saw that something was wrong with her and quickly put his hand away to avoid further harm.

"I...it hurts there!" Cheng Ruoxi hesitated, wanting to say butt but felt it was wrong.

"Where?" Jiang Qiao didn't understand for a moment.

It wasn't until Cheng Ruoxi pointed hesitantly at his back that Jiang Qiao realized that it might be a broken bone.

He didn't care about anything else and quickly called an ambulance.

During the ten minutes of waiting for the ambulance, Jiang Qiao paced back and forth around Cheng Ruoxi, not knowing what to do, so he took off his coat and tried to cover Cheng Ruoxi.

"What are you doing? Dress carefully, you will catch a cold!" Cheng Ruoxi scolded him in a low voice, "I'm not cold, I'm wearing long johns."

Pedestrians walking on the street looked at this scene curiously, seeing that Cheng Ruoxi, who was usually generous and confident, was no longer calm at this time.

"Jiang Qiao, this is too embarrassing!" Cheng Ruoxi looked at the ground.

"It's okay, I will accompany you to embarrass you... How about I dance for you on New Treasure Island? Wouldn't it be easier this way?" Jiang Qiao said.

"Get lost!" Cheng Ruoxi scolded with a smile.

...

Ten minutes later, the ambulance rushed over. Several medical workers carefully lifted Cheng Ruoxi onto a stretcher and then loaded her into the car.

Jiang Qiao accompanied him as a family member.

The ambulance moved in an orderly manner. There were three medical staff in total, two of them sat in the front, and the remaining one was next to Jiang Qiao.

Cheng Ruoxi was lying on her side, with her back to Jiang Qiao.

During this period, Jiang Qiao sent a message to Li Wan.

"Teacher, I have to ask you for leave today."

Unexpectedly, I received a reply as soon as this message was sent.

"What's wrong? Did something happen or are you sick again?"

"A friend had an accident, and I'm taking her to the hospital."

"What's going on? Is it important?"

"Still in the ambulance."

"Okay, okay, I'll grant you a day off, but you have to explain it to me tomorrow."

...

Cheng Ruoxi was lying on her side on the hospital bed near the door, with a little pain on her face.

"Doctor, how is my sister?" Jiang Qiao stood not far outside the door. Next to him was a very smart doctor in a white coat.

Judging from his hairstyle, he is a strong man with profound medical skills.

The doctor Jueding showed a kind smile: "This child is not seriously ill. It is initially determined that he has a slight fracture of the coccyx and will need to be observed in the hospital for a period of time."

Jiang Qiao asked: "How long will it take?"

The doctor thought for a while and said, "Well, it will probably take six to eight weeks."

So long? Jiang Qiao nodded, but was surprised.

Just a slight fall would result in hospitalization for six to eight weeks.

Watching the doctor walk away, Jiang Qiao returned to the ward, took a stool and sat in front of Cheng Ruoxi.

"Jiang Qiao, what did the doctor say?" Cheng Ruoxi took a pillow and put it upright, then found a comfortable position to lie on her side.

"The doctor said that you may need to be hospitalized for six to eight weeks." Jiang Qiao answered truthfully.

"Ah? So long!" Upon hearing this, Cheng Ruoxi's face dropped and she became very anxious.

She took her right hand out of the quilt, bent her fingers, and muttered something.

"one two three......"

When she counted to the sixth week, she said with a sad face: "It's already the Chinese New Year! Doesn't that mean we can't keep up with the same standards?"

Jiang Qiao blinked and was amused by her look: "Sister, are you still worried about the exam?"

"Jiang Qiao, this is not an ordinary exam, this is a model! It's very important!"

"No matter how important it is, your body is more important?" Jiang Qiao said, and then comforted Cheng Ruoxi: "It's okay, what if your body recovers well and you catch up?"

Cheng Ruoxi nodded slightly, seemingly convinced by Jiang Qiao.

At this time, a young nurse poked her head out of the ward: "Who are Cheng Ruoxi's family members?"

Jiang Qiao stood up: "Me."

The little nurse nodded: "Go to the counter and pay the fee."

Jiang Qiao responded and was about to walk out.

As soon as she took two steps, she was stopped by Cheng Ruoxi: "Jiang Qiao, have you paid for your old phone? Take my mobile phone."

She took out her mobile phone from under the quilt and handed it to Jiang Qiao.

"password is......"

Jiang Qiao walked out of the ward with his mobile phone and walked all the way to the counter.

On the way, he played with Cheng Ruoxi's mobile phone curiously.

There are only a few simple applications for wallpapers made from landscape photos.

A music software, a reading software, and then two social software. Apart from that, there is nothing else.

Suddenly, a gust of fragrant wind blew into the tip of Jiang Qiao's nose, followed by a string of capable words, with a gentle and melodious tone.

"Excuse me, where is Ward 213?"

213? Isn’t that next door to Sister Xi?

When Jiang Qiao heard this, he raised his head. Standing in front of him was a beautiful woman with a long ponytail and a black windbreaker.
