Chapter Six

Standing at the entrance of the village, Ji Momo felt a little confused.

The time showed it was 8:12 p.m., and the nightlife in the city hadn't even started yet, but people in the mountain village had already turned off their lights and went to sleep.

The book does not explain the specific location of Tang Guirong's family. Even the life in the countryside is just a few brushstrokes.

After finally finding a house with the lights on, Ji Momo shouted twice at the door.

The male host came out with a flashlight, and when the light shone on her face, the other party shouted in surprise, "Momo?"

"Uh, it's me."

"Why are you back, Mo Mo?"

Unfortunately, she didn't know the other person's name and didn't know how to answer for a while.

Tang Guirong's husband's surname was Zhang. After being taken back by the Ji family, he changed his name to Ji Momo.

"Does your mother know you're back?"

Ji Momo shook his head.

Not to mention knowing, she doesn't even know where her home is.

"You were afraid of walking at night before. Come on and I'll take you home."

Ji Momo secretly breathed a sigh of relief and followed closely behind the man.

The man kept his mouth shut and told her everything that happened in the village in the six months since she left.

"Mother and son are connected. Your mother just got sick and you came back."

"You're back just in time. Please advise your mother to go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible if she is sick. How can you just hold on?"

Ji Momo nodded, "I understand."

The man obviously didn't notice that she was in a low mood.

"Mo Mo, how have you been in the past six months? Your mother thinks about you and sheds tears every day. Can you stay at home for a few more days this time?"

“Maybe we’ll stay for a few days.”

"Mo Mo, you have changed and become much more sensible."

"Well, everyone will grow up."

Taking her to a low thatched hut, the man said to himself, "Did your mother go to work in the mountains again? Is she going to die?"

Work? What work?

She doesn't understand this place. In reality, she is just a city girl, indifferent to all aspects of her body and her grain.

"Mo Mo, you go inside first, and I'll go find your mother. She'll be extremely happy if she knows you're back."

The man left in a hurry and turned on the flashlight on his mobile phone. He could clearly see the low and dilapidated thatched cottage and several pieces of tattered furniture inside.

Is this where Tang Guirong lives?

After searching around, I couldn't find any trace of the life at the end of the season in the book. I'm afraid this is not the house they used to live in.

There were two bowls placed on the dark stove. When I opened them, I found a bowl of black pickles and half a thick noodle bun respectively. They were hard and gave off a musty smell.

Inside is the sleeping area. The threshold is moth-eaten and riddled with holes. There is a bed made of broken wooden boards placed against the wall. It is covered with a layer of straw. On the straw, there is a bed of colorless, tattered cotton wool.

.

To describe a house with only four walls feels exaggerated. It doesn’t look like a home at all.

Just when she was at a loss, there were chaotic footsteps outside the door.

A thin woman stumbled in and stared at her.

"Mo, Mo Mo?" she called softly.

Looking at her at the end of the season, the weather was already cold in October, and the temperature in the mountains was now about ten degrees. She was still wearing a pair of plastic sandals that had been broken in half.

"mom!"

This is from the heart. Tang Guirong really loves her. In the end of the book, he is not sensible and breaks her heart.

"Hey! My dear, you are really back."

Tang Guirong hugged her and cried for a long time, and finally coaxed her back.

"Mom, why do you live here? Where is our original house?"

"Sell, sell!"

"Why sell?"
