67. Anthony Bell

"She and I met in a birch forest. She was wearing a floral dress."

Solar ring area 9

Aerial vehicles passed by outside the window. The curtains were drawn to block the traffic outside.

The man in a white suit returned to his desk and sat down. The ID tag on the desk read his identity: psychiatrist.

"Please continue." He said to the figure on the sofa.

The young man on the sofa continued: "She was wearing a floral dress, I thought"

"Please wait a moment." The man stopped the young man, wrote something in his note, and then drew a circle. "Does the skirt pattern have any special meaning?"

"She said later that it was her favorite dress."

"I understand, please continue."

The young man continued: "I thought she was playing, but I didn't know she lived in the woods until I saw her picking wild vegetables."

"She lives in the woods?"

"Well, her home is in the birch forest."

"Well, it seems your girlfriend is a rich person."

The young man pursed his lips and made a smile: "I was as curious as you are now, so I went over to strike up a conversation. She...she is really a beautiful girl."

The man asked: "Do you have a picture of her?"

"Of course." The young man replied. He took out a photo from his breast pocket, leaned forward and handed it to the man.

The psychiatrist took the photo, looked at it carefully for a few seconds, and then looked at the young man.

"Her soul is countless times more beautiful than her appearance."

"Oh, sorry." The psychiatrist smiled apologetically and handed the photo back.

"It's nothing." The young man took it and put it back in his breast pocket with caring tenderness: "Can I continue talking?"

"certainly."

"After we met, I often went to play with her. A few months later, we fell in love. She is a gentle and considerate girl, the kind who can arrange everything properly..." The young man said happily, as if this is the only way to describe it.

Show how nice the girl is.

"Then what?"

"We had three happy years and got engaged."

The man unconsciously tapped the pen cap in his hand to take notes. During this, the young man's expression gradually became depressed: "I can't forget the way she smiled at me on the day she tried on the wedding dress. Being able to put the ring on her hand is probably the happiest thing in my life.

moment. Then...she died a week before the wedding. She died in the attack on the Church of Nature. I think you should have watched the news."

"Yes." The man's eyes fell on the wedding ring on the young man's middle finger. He paused and got to the point: "According to your file description, you saw her again half a month ago, right?"

The young man nodded.

"Can you describe it?"

The young man paused for a moment, as if sorting out his thoughts, and then said: "It was in the morning, and I heard some movement in the kitchen. I walked out of the bedroom and saw her making breakfast, and then went to clean the house."

"Are you sure this isn't your hallucination?"

"I ate my breakfast," the young man said. "After that, life was like before. Except I was the only one who could see her. Her parents were worried about me, so they introduced you to me."

"So is she here too?" The man looked around for the invisible girl.

"She doesn't usually get up so early."

"Okay." The man closed the note and said to him sternly: "It is initially diagnosed that you have hysteria. The longing for your girlfriend has led you to constantly hypnotize yourself subtly. This kind of psychological suggestion gives you the illusion that your girlfriend is back.

"

"Probably." The young man said calmly. "But I don't want to change this."

"I need to remind you that hysteria has only developed into the middle stage now. Once it reaches the late stage, this situation will cause great trouble to your life and may even lead to schizophrenia."

The young man pursed his lips and did not answer.

"It seems that you have already decided. But as a doctor, there are some things that I have to do. Mr. Anthony, please put this in your room. It will record your daily life. Remember to bring it next time."

"I will."

Two weeks later.

"Your mental state is not very good." The man noticed that he had changed a lot.

"Is this it?" Anthony pointed at his stubble and said with a smile, "She likes it."

Then Anthony thought of something and handed the video recorder back to the doctor from his pocket.

The man put it into the holographic screen, and then turned it to one-way and silent.

Time passes minute by minute, except for the man who occasionally controls the rhythm of the picture.

A few minutes later, he looked away and asked Anthony: "Have you watched this video?"

"I won't watch it."

The man put away the video and looked at Anthony: "I suggest you receive treatment from the hospital."

There is only Anthony in the video. He talks to the air, he cooks the food, and cleans the room. The invisible girl does not exist from beginning to end.

Anthony shook his head: "This is my choice. So let's get here first. I will come to you if there is any need."

He left the clinic, took the elevator downstairs and boarded the spaceship.

"Is he advising you to destroy me again?"

In the passenger seat, a girl wearing a floral dress spoke.

"I don't want to argue..." Anthony rubbed his forehead.

She hugged Anthony and said softly: "I'm sorry... I just don't want you to think I'm an illusion."

"I know." Anthony breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at her.

"Let's go home."

Two months later.

Anthony comes to the psychological clinic.

"She disappeared."

"When did it start?"

"The morning before yesterday."

"Did she say goodbye to you?"

Anthony shook his head.

"What happened before this?"

"She started to lose her temper frequently, and told me afterwards that she seemed to have lost consciousness. A few days before she disappeared, she said she didn't want to hurt me..."

Men often exhale: "As a listener, I feel sorry for you. But as a psychiatrist, I want to congratulate you."

He stretched out his hand.

"You recovered."

Anthony walked out of the clinic. The sun was shining brightly in his eyes.

He didn't know what to do for a moment and stood blankly at the door.

【Death is a disease. Join us and defeat death.】

Exaggerated advertising slogans came from the airship in the sky.

Anthony raised his head.

“Great story.”

In the interview room, Joyce nodded.

"Let me ask a question." On the other side of the interviewer's seat, a petite girl with blond hair and an arrogant expression crossed her chest and laughed: "How did she fall in love with you?"

Anthony, who is slightly fat and has a thick beard, said: "I was not like this before. She said to me, 'Anthony, if you are delicate on the inside, be rough on the outside. If you are hot on the inside, be quiet and peaceful. That way.

You will suffer big losses from those idiots who judge you by their appearance."

"So now you look like a middle-aged and fat old man." The girl said sarcastically. "Evil, and you have a disgusting beard."

Anthony just smiled and did not refute. He asked Joyce: "Can humans really live forever..."

He saw that Joyce was the leader of these people.

"There is no doubt about it," Joyce replied.

"After death, will the consciousness reach another world..."

"I don't know." Joyce shook his head.

Anthony said again as he looked increasingly disappointed.

"But just as we can't prove that the world after death exists, we can't prove that the world after death doesn't exist."

The words Joyce said at that time rang in his ears. The blood on his chest dyed his clothes red, and a group of soldiers appeared in his sight. Soon, these were gradually replaced by a white light.

All the sounds disappeared. I don’t know how long it had passed, but the sound of the woods being rustled by the wind reached my ears.

He saw a birch forest and a girl in a floral dress.

The girl looked here, stood on tiptoes and waved her arms, the breeze blowing her hair.

Anthony walked towards her with a smile on his face.
