33. The Fall of the Church of Nature

"Is this the capital you invested in your own trap? Hmph...it does have some abilities."

An elder hummed softly and spoke into the air.

The control room remains the same, with various precision instruments placed on the edge of the polygonal room, including electromagnetic pulse devices.

The Church of Nature remains wary of Artificial Intelligence No. 1.

There are only nine people standing here. Except for two believers, the remaining seven are all elders.

They may very well be the final enemies.

There were some blood stains scattered on the ground, extending all the way to the door.

Something seems to have happened here. Perhaps before Mu Su and others came, a screening started here, and the losers were all outside the door.

This explains the pile of bodies outside the door and the clean control room.

[This is it, this is it! Put me up there!]

AIC started on its own without needing to be awakened, shouting loudly.

Mu Su approached the artificial intelligence with steps like dancing a Yangko. Naturally, several people in the church raised their gunpowder weapons and aimed them at... the empty space.

"Don't shoot!" Mu Su showed a frightened expression and raised his hands.

"Isn't it strange to see that we are still sane? You are too complacent. If you had come an hour later, the consequences might have been different. But now..."

The silent voice of an elder in gray robe sounded familiar to the three of them - the voice on the radio.

"You have brought such a big loss to us...you are proud enough. Now, the game is over."

Church members pulled the trigger.

Joyce suddenly frowned, feeling as if he had overlooked something.

"careful!"

Musu's eyes were about to burst, he turned around and rushed towards Lina, opening his arms to protect Lina completely in front of him.

Amidst the gunfire, Lina watched Mu Su's show with no expression on her face.

Mu Su bit the tip of his tongue, squeezed out a drop of saliva to serve as blood, looked at Lina affectionately, and said softly: "The murderer is..."

Lina resisted the desire to complain.

All the bullets rained down on the empty wall. After a few seconds, they stopped and calmly stared at the wall that was ravaged and full of bullet marks.

"It's finally over. These bastards have caused us a lot of trouble."

"But they are losers now." The elder replaced the new magazine and took off his hood, revealing a weathered face full of beards.

The two groups did not interact with each other and each played his own way. Mu Su was very curious about the hallucinations they had.

Joyce's eyebrows furrowed further.

The elders of the Church of Nature are not combatants. Now that the battle is over, why would they want to change bullets at the same time...

The elder and the other elders stepped towards the empty space, and the people who were originally huddled in a group distanced themselves.

"Get down!"

But at this moment, Joyce shouted!

His dark eyes tightened, and he suddenly lay down, covering his head with his arms.

While Lina was still dazed, she suddenly saw the guns of the Nature Church raised again, and they were aimed here!

Everything seemed to slow down. Fire snakes spewed out, the muzzle of the gun was raised, and the golden bullets spun out, leaving a fluctuating air trail.

A figure suddenly rushed from the side and protected Lina.

This time, Lina was no longer expressionless.

Countless bullets penetrated Mu Su's back, penetrated the skin, flesh, and internal organs, and accumulated in the chest.

Mu Su no longer needed to bite the tip of his tongue, blood seeped out from the corners of his lips. His brows wrinkled in pain, but his eyes were full of affection.

Mu Su opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but only blood foam came out. He was pushed forward by the power of the bullet and crashed into Lina's arms, overwhelming her and protecting her under him.

"The Shadows of Evil have betrayed us!"

Lina stared blankly at Mu Su's pale face so close to her, and shouted in shock.

Joyce, who lay down in advance, noticed the muzzle of the opposite gun moving downwards and quickly rolled to one side. The bullets followed, leaving a bullet mark close to him.

The church elders made observations entirely based on the picture provided by Artificial Intelligence No. 1, resulting in a slightly slower response.

"No. The Shadow of Evil only works on humans, and artificial intelligence is not affected. They knew this, and deliberately made us and the Shadow of Evil lose our guard..."

Joyce got up and explained, no longer avoiding.

The shadows of evil have begun to block the five senses of the people in the church, making it impossible for them to distinguish the direction. Bullets were shot in all directions, either hitting empty spaces or burrowing into the bodies of their own people. Elders and believers continued to fall.

There was a blank space around Joyce and Lena, and all shots avoided those two areas.

But at this moment, several bullets unexpectedly hit the black page falling to the ground, tearing it into several pieces.

A cloud of black smoke rose up, and the black pages gradually dissipated.

Almost at the same time, the eyes of the three remaining elders regained their clarity.

The blood seeped into the gray robe, staining it deeply. The three elders held up their empty guns and looked around blankly.

They disposed of the corpses of their compatriots on the ground with their own hands.

thump--

The two elders staggered and fell, spitting out a few pieces of blood with difficulty, and never got up again.

Next to the artificial intelligence, only an old figure covered in blood was left struggling to stand.

"Lina, send AIC back to the computing center." Joyce stared at him closely and said with a slight tilt of his head.

Lina gritted her teeth, grabbed Mu Su's collar and shook her: "Stop pretending!"

"You discovered all this!" Mu Su, who was pretending to be dead, opened his eyes and said in surprise, then narrowed his black eyes: "You really saw something."

"I'll tell you after I resolve the matter."

Lina pushed away Mu Su, who was helpless, and walked around to the metal table with AIC in her arms.

[I'm back again hahahahahaha] aic shouted.

The pair of dark blue eyes on the metal platform looked at Lina, and a gentle female voice sounded in the room.

It seems to have a bit of regret and reluctance.

[I haven’t seen the world clearly yet…]

Lina's movements paused slightly, and then she ripped off the chip of Artificial Intelligence No. 1 without hesitation.

The light in her pupils suddenly dimmed, and Lina turned to insert the black chip that popped out from the bottom of the AIC into the card slot.

After a few seconds, the dark blue light gradually lights up.

Aic's unique intonation echoed throughout the control room.

[We succeeded! We succeeded!]

Its pupils gradually narrowed

[Now, it’s time to resolve our issues. *Nerve gas being injected*]

"Why...we just want the earth to be purified!"

A roar attracted the attention of the three people.

When Joyce was about to speak, Mu Su, whose clothes were in tatters, stood in front of Joyce and stared at the elder who looked sad and angry.

"I'll tell you why."

Mu Su opened his mouth without saying anything, and suddenly pulled the confused Lina and hid in a blind corner where others could not see.

"Turn your back to me." He said urgently.

Lina didn't know why, so she subconsciously followed the instructions. After turning around, there was suddenly a rustling sound and rapid breathing from behind.

"...?"

Lina turned her head suddenly, only to see Mu Su's face was slightly flushed, and his black eyes were a little confused.

"What are you doing?"

"It's okay." Mu Su trembled and returned to the previous position.

He had a profound temperament, his dark eyes looked at the elder calmly, and he spoke softly.

"Human beings are always evolving, which is technically evolution. Whether this evolution is good or bad, it represents our path, the path we choose."

"And you are going against the current."

"We can regret it, but we can never look back."
