21. The meaning of life is repetition

Xiao Cangshu has figured out everyone's responsibilities, or in other words, their direction.

[Can you tell me?] [What do you know about this place] [Hmm] My three sentences are suitable for inquiring about information.

[We have no choice] [Follow me] [Leave it to me] Uncle Appendix’s three sentences are suitable for leading the team.

[I have a good idea] [I object] [Who goes up] Three sentences by Ghost Dance Chengfeng are suitable for expressing opinions.

[I don’t understand what this means] [I need help] [Are we really going to do this] Mu Su’s three sentences are suitable for... suitable for asking questions.

The players with their own concerns stood in the cell, making eye contact from time to time. Only Mu Su sat down by the cell door and kept muttering "I need help", as if he would get an achievement if he repeated it a thousand times.

The dungeon mechanism is like the third round of the Death Tournament, which limits communication between players. This is really bad, especially since the dungeon requires a certain amount of cooperation.

A slightly dull ten minutes passed, and suddenly there was a commotion deep in the passage where they came from.

Xiao Cangshu and the others walked to the iron bars and looked sideways. Mu Su also stopped mumbling and squatted by the cell, squeezing his face between the iron bars and squinting.

The commotion spread towards them, and soon several vicious jailers appeared and untied the chains of each cell.

It's time for labor work.

After coming out, the four people moved with the crowd of prisoners. Each of them was wearing the default clothes of the main world. But compared with other prisoners, they were like new clothes.

Most of the prisoners were naked, and the tattered clothes hanging on their bodies seemed to be soaked in ink. Not only the clothes, but also the exposed skin. Only when they spoke could you see the flash of teeth.

It's not that their teeth are so white that they can't be cleaned in the dungeon, but their bodies are really dirty and dark.

However, they still saw a few relatively clean figures in the crowd, all of whom were strong and brutal prisoners surrounded by their men.

They also target players.

Among them, there was a group of strong brown-haired men at the front of the bald head, who looked at the four players, lowered his head and whispered something to his subordinates. The subordinates responded and looked over with evil intentions.

Xiao Cangshu's heart sank a little, unable to tell whether these were the enemies he had provoked outside the dungeon or the criminal leaders.

If it's the former, maybe you can get in touch, if it's the latter...

He shook the bracelet, and the sound was inconspicuous among the crowd.

Let’s finish it then.

After a few minutes, the players drifted to an open area.

It was dark and crowded, and it seemed like all the prisoners in the dungeon were here, numbering nearly a thousand.

They are still underground, in a natural cave with open terrain. The lighting is a kind of luminous fluorite hanging on the top of the cave.

The prisoners lined up in a chaotic manner to receive tools.

Players finally know why these prisoners look so dark... Their job is to mine coal.

Deep in the cave, more than a dozen manually dug mines are scattered throughout the cave, with guards guarding them nearby. The prisoners who received the tools entered the mines one by one.

Withdrawing their gaze, the four people lined up. Soon it was their turn. The jailer who distributed the tools raised his eyebrows and looked at them: "New here?"

Gui Wu Chengfeng subconsciously wanted to answer, but in the end he only had an expression but no sound.

"Yeah." Xiao Cangshu took a step forward and nodded.

The jailer looked at them strangely and said, "Pick your own tools. Each person should have at least a load of coal. Be careful not to break the tools, otherwise you will suffer."

"Yeah." Xiao Cangshu responded, continuing to act like a man of few words.

"I don't know what this means."

A voice suddenly sounded beside him.

The three players' hearts trembled at the same time. Oh no! They actually forgot that the damn Mu Su was right next to them!

The jailer who had already looked at the prisoner behind them withdrew his gaze and fell on Mu Su.

Looking at those dead fish eyes, the jailer tilted his neck and sneered: "You will know soon, get out of here."

Mu Su's black eyes narrowed slightly, no one could get it——

A figure suddenly blocked his sight. Xiao Cangshu didn't say anything, and only looked at him with pleading in his eyes.

Mu Su has always been willing to accept soft things rather than hard ones, so he was half pushed and half pulled away by three players who had taken tools.

The jailer watched them leave and sneered.

"I need help! Do we really have to do this!" (What are you trying to do with me? He won't feel better if he offends me!)

The three players looked at each other and could guess something even if they didn't understand. Uncle Appendix shook his head helplessly: "We have no choice."

After handing the pickaxe and basket to Mu Su who was unwilling to do so, the four players randomly found a nearby mine and went in.

The noisy sounds from the outside world were far away, and bursts of digging sounds came from the front.

The mine has no support, but fortunately it seems to be quite solid. The luminous stones are embedded in the rocks as if they are worthless. No prisoners care about them, and no one wants to use them for lighting in the cells.

Guiwu Chengfeng looked around, his scalp numb. It wasn't because he was claustrophobic, but because he was worried about these fluorite stones.

Who knows whether these are simple luminous objects or radioactive substances. If there was a Geiger counter at this time, I wonder if it would keep clicking.

The mine was complicated, and after walking fifty meters, there was a fork that spread downwards. Uncle Appendix, who was walking in front, stopped for a moment and walked into a fork that echoed with the sound of pickaxes.

Their main mission is to gather information, not to mine coal.

The mine was wide and narrow at times, and the coal in the front section had been mined long ago. There were not a few pieces of broken coal visible on the pitted rock walls. It was probably several hundred meters deep, and they finally saw the looming figures in the rising dust haze.

They walked to the mining team, found an empty space, dropped the basket, looked at each other, and started mining awkwardly.

Either they were smashed crookedly or the pickaxe was knocked flat into the rock wall. They had to observe other prisoners and learn clumsily.

Finally, a piece of coal as big as a stone fell off the wall and rolled to the foot of the small cang tree.

Xiao Cangshu picked up the coal and moved closer to the fluorite to observe. This dark thing had a strange metallic color under the light, and it seemed that it was not just coal...

After thinking to no avail, the little cang tree was thrown into his basket.

Even this kind of glowing fluorite is everywhere and no one wants it. If you think about it, the dungeon will not be an ordinary world.

Dull breathing and shouting and banging sounds echoed in this section of the mine, and no prisoner spoke at this time.

The dungeon had just started for ten minutes, and the players were not in a hurry, mining awkwardly while thinking about how to complete the main storyline.

Wow——

A piece of rock wall fell off, and several pieces of coal of different sizes fell. Xiao Cangshu wiped the sweat on his forehead with his gray sleeves, picked them up and threw them into the basket.

As a result, it was suddenly discovered that the basket that should have contained seven or eight pieces of coal only contained the one originally mined.

Huh? What's going on?

Xiao Cangshu looked around, and his eyes finally landed on Mu Su, who was standing by with clean clothes and doing nothing, but the basket under his feet was actually filled with less than half of the coal.
