Chapter 55 Value

Zheng Zhendong felt even more itchy when he heard Lan Yigui's tut-tsk sound, and couldn't help but ask.

"Shopkeeper Lan, don't just admire it by yourself. Please tell me how good this painting is!"

Lan Yigui, who was looking at the painting at the side, knew in his heart when Zheng Zhendong asked this question that the young man in front of him did not understand this painting.

I originally wanted to find something missing, but seeing that Zheng Zhendong was wearing a military coat, I accidentally gave up the idea.

With a smile, he waved to Zheng Zhendong, motioning for him to come forward.

Seeing Zheng Zhendong walking to the table, Lan Yigui spoke.

"This little brother, I see that you have an extraordinary bearing, and I am determined to make friends with you. I wonder if you would give me some thin noodles?"

Hearing what Lan Yigui said, Zheng Zhendong quickly introduced.

"Hello, shopkeeper Lan, my boy Zheng Zhendong lives over there in Nanluogu Lane. Thank you for your respect, we will be friends from now on!"

The two of them greeted each other politely, and Lan Yigui started talking after giving Zheng Zhendong a cup of tea.

"Brother Zheng, after carefully looking at the painting you brought today, I concluded that it is a painting by Dong Qichang in the late Ming Dynasty.

If you look at this painting, the brushwork is elegant and neutral, quiet and spacious; the ink used is bright, clean and meaningful, gentle and calm; the green color is simple and elegant.

This painting should be called "Distant Peaks Splashing Green Pictures".

If you look at it, the whole painting is just a distant view, and the brushwork and ink are very simple, but it has full of charm and strength.

The front part of the picture is made of a corner with a slope and is decorated with several wild stones.

There are three old trees at the foot of the slope, standing staggered. The middle one is a leaf-leaf tree. I have briefly sketched it, but the branches and leaves are clearly visible;

The leaves of the two trees next to them give full play to the effect of splashing ink, with straight strokes on the left to show twists and turns, and horizontal dots on the right to show proud shores, alternating between dark and light colors, giving a sense of vitality.

The upper part of the picture is painted with light ink, and distant mountains cross it. Only the outline is visible in the sky, but the mountains are vague, as if they are lingering in mist, and they are extremely majestic.

Dong Qichang then used thick ink to paint a few scattered leaves in a faint and distant scenery. The distances are consistent, the layers are rich, and the smoke and clouds are flowing, filling the shore of Zhuzhou.

There is a small slope painted on the left, and several straight trees are painted on the slope with horizontal ink.

There is a vast ocean and huge water in the middle, and without the use of pen or ink, the vast and boundless momentum of the vast lake surface is vividly displayed on the paper.

This painting is about 7 feet long and more than two feet wide. With such a large vertical axis, only a few nearby trees and distant mountains are arranged to capture the entire picture's image of distant peaks, vast water, and green trees.

This is the result of Dong Qichang's skillful use of "Wang Qia splashes ink, Li Cheng cherishes ink, and the combination of the two creates a painting secret".

The whole painting seems to be sparse and omitted, but there is no place that cannot be taken care of. The brushwork is sharp and vigorous, yet subtle and elegant. The pure ink color momentum is eye-catching and moving.

If we had not mastered the skill of "painting in empty space", we would not have such a brilliant layout.

Some people think that Dong Qichang got it from the calligraphy structure of "wide enough to move a horse, but tight and airtight". This is not unreasonable.

The entire vertical scroll has no color, but its appearance is clear and beautiful, with the potential to be close at hand and thousands of miles away, giving people a sense of far-reaching tranquility.

Seeing this, I can conclude that this is Dong Qichang's genuine product!"

After listening to Lan Yigui talking a lot, Zheng Zhendong didn't understand much, but he just knew that this painting was Dong Qichang's.

Zheng Zhendong hesitated for three seconds before asking.

"Shopkeeper Lan, could you please tell me how much this painting is worth?"

Lan Yigui rolled up the painting, handed it to Zheng Zhendong, sighed and said.

"Xiao Zheng, is it true that something happened at home and we need money?

If you are not in a hurry, I advise you to stay for a while.

In today's world, good things cannot be sold for good prices. If this painting had been made more than ten years ago, it would have been worth tens of thousands of dollars at least.

Nowadays, who of us still buys antique calligraphy and paintings? They can’t be sold at high prices, so just keep them!"

After hearing what Lan Yigui said, Zheng Zhendong understood that now was not a good time to sell paintings, and then stood up and said.

"Thank you, Shopkeeper Lan, for reminding me. I will take good care of this painting. Please rest assured!"

The two said a few more words, and Zheng Zhendong said goodbye to Lan Yigui and left Tianhexuan.

Pushing his bicycle, Zheng Zhendong was walking on Liulichang Street, and he couldn't help but sigh that Mr. Wang, who had just passed away after Shopkeeper Lan, really looked like him.

I just don’t know which TV series Teacher Wang is a character in, which makes Zheng Zhendong curious about what world he has traveled to.

After pushing the bicycle out of Liulichang Street, Zheng Zhendong got on the bicycle and walked home.

After riding for more than half an hour, we returned to the gate of the compound.

As soon as I stopped my bicycle, I saw the third uncle, Yan Bugui, holding a bucket in one hand and a fishing rod in the other, and he was going back to the courtyard.

Seeing Zheng Zhendong getting off his bicycle, he hurriedly greeted him.

"Dongzi, what are you doing here? I just went to your house to go fishing with you, but you weren't there!"

Zheng Zhendong pushed his bicycle, glanced into the Yanbu Gui water bucket, and then spoke.

"Third uncle, I have something to do today. Where did you go fishing? I see you caught a lot, but the fish are a bit small!"

After hearing what Zheng Zhendong said, Yan Bugui said happily.

"Hey, where else can I go fishing? I didn't go to Houhai by myself.

Don't tell me, there are quite a lot of people fishing there!

It’s just that the weather was so cold. After fishing there for a while, I couldn’t stand the cold anymore!

Why don't you come back quickly? How about we go fishing when we have time?"

Zheng Zhendong nodded and agreed, and the two of them walked into the courtyard while talking.

Arriving at the door of Yan's house in the front yard, Yan Bugui said hello to Zheng Zhendong and went home.

Zheng Zhendong pushed his bicycle and continued walking to his home.

When he arrived at his door, Zheng Zhendong parked his bicycle, took the painting and returned home.

Putting the painting on the table, Zheng Zhendong became worried again because it was difficult to store the painting.

Even if it is afraid of snakes, insects, rats and ants, it cannot be placed in a dark and humid place. Just thinking about it will make your head hurt.

Finally, I found an oilcloth from home, wrapped the painting, and wrapped it with an old cloth.

Seeing how tightly the painting was wrapped, Zheng Zhendong was satisfied.

Then he found a ladder and tied the painting to the beam. After thinking it was unsafe, he took it down again.

I entered my bedroom, looked around, and finally knocked on the floor in the northwest corner of the room and found that the floor was very thick.

Then he went out and found an iron bar, pried open the floor, found a small shovel from outside, closed the door, and started digging.

To be honest, the soil under the floor was a bit hard. Zheng Zhendong dug for half an hour before digging a hole 1 meter deep and 30 centimeters square.

They also found lime and put it inside, then laid oil paper on it, and finally put the painting inside and covered the floor.

Nodding with satisfaction, Zheng Zhendong said in his heart, this will be my future treasure cave.
