Chapter 12 The Feathered Snake God (14)
"Paracelsus, it's here."
Ella and Paracelsus, who finally arrived in England, pushed open the door of a thatched hut with her nervous heart.
This is where Alfred took the initiative to leave Winchester. In fact, with Alfred's symptoms, most people persist for less than a day, and even if they take sulfonamide, few people have survived for three days. Since Alfred's illness, it has been more than half a month since he was sick, and even the strongest body cannot withstand the torture of this black god of death for half a month.
Ella was afraid that after opening the door, she saw Alfred's body.
But the room was empty and there was no one.
"Amy, did you bring the wrong place?" Ella asked. She had been determined to deal with Izkoyatel, Alfred and other patients.
"How could I bring the wrong place? I'm not a road tycoon," Amy complained. "It's just that here, I just don't know where Alfred went."
As soon as Amy finished speaking, she suddenly thought of something and clapped her hands:
"I have received a report that a group of robbers were robbing the houses outside. Because there are patients outside Winchester City, they cannot resist even during the day. Could it be that the Knight King was robbed?"
"There is such a thing?" Ella was anxious. "Are they not afraid of being infected with the Black Death?"
"Money is big, life and death is small. Even in the cemetery, there are no shortage of people stealing, let alone living people. Besides, since they dare to do this, they must have corresponding protection." Paracelsus said later, "King of Sweden, you have just been talking about how cruel Izkoatel is, but if you exchange magic for money, there are not many people doing similar things."
"Alfred, the dignified Knight King, was he robbed like this?" Aila's eyes began to vent anger, "I immediately ordered the pursuit of these robbers. Where did they get the courage? I can find Izkoyatel, and I can't find these little thieves?"
——"There were robbers who came in, but I took the weapon and it was dealt with."
A familiar voice came into Ella's ears. Alfred, with a pale face, walked in hard from outside towards the thatched hut. His clothes were covered with vomit and blood.
When Ella saw Alfred appearing in front of her, she was both happy and angry: "Alfred, why did you run outside? Do you know your physical condition? Why are you still running around outside?"
Alfred smiled a little apologetically: "I want to stay in the house well. But these corpses will smell bad if they stay here, so I can only drag them outside and bury them first."
"Then the blood on your body?"
"It's all of those robbers. This disease is so tormenting that I almost got killed by them. Fortunately, I was better off and I dealt with the three robbers, so the patients in other rooms were also protected from casualties."
Paracelsus immediately found something was wrong:
"King King, the King of Sweden said you have been sick for nearly half a month. I saw that you were not ill at first sight. Normally, even if such a patient does not die, he is no longer able to take care of his daily life. Where did you get the strength to kill three robbers, and even drag them out to bury them?"
"After all, I'm the Knight King." Alfred smiled, "Even if a camel is thin, it's bigger than a horse, right?"
Ella and Amy were excused by these words, but Paracelsus's brows frowned:
"Do you know what you are talking about? In medicine, this is absolutely impossible. You go back to bed and lie down first, and I'll check it out for you."
When Alfred entered the door, Paracelsus pulled Ella and Amy away. After Alfred lay on the bed, Paracelsus walked out of the room with his bag. When he came in again, Paracelsus had already put on a bird's beak mask and put on a black robe. He lifted Alfred's clothes with a crutch, examined the condition of the skin under the clothes, and then pressed several places on his body with his gloves to ask about Alfred's feeling. During this period, Ella and Amy stood in the distance and watched. Although they didn't understand medical skills, just looking at these symptoms, they knew that Alfred was terminally ill.
After Paracelsus finished a series of examinations, Alfred asked with a smile: "Doctor, how long can I live?"
Paracelsus's face was a little strange: "Ten days."
"Is there ten days left? OK." Alfred closed his eyes with relief, "Ten days are enough for me to arrange the things behind me."
"Paracelsus, can't you find a way to save him?" Ella rushed forward anxiously and pulled Paracelsus's sleeve, "You are the best medical book, there must be a way, right?"
"I mean, with this symptom, he should have died ten days ago!" Paracelsus opened his eyes widened, "Can you understand this concept? Ten days ago I said, it was not an average, but a maximum! Anyone, under this symptom, persists until ten days ago at most! But he lives...not a day or two more, but a ten more days. Even judging from the current symptoms, he is already completely dead, but he is still walking, talking... still laughing. Can you understand this concept?"
Ella and Amy were stunned for a moment: "Doctor, what does this mean?"
"This powerful vitality has exceeded the scope of humans, which reminds me of... dragons." Paracelsus turned his head and looked at Alfred, "King King, are your usual strength far more powerful than ordinary people? Have you ever signed a contract with the Dragon Clan?"
This sentence hit Alfred's pain and made his face suddenly become dark:
"Is there... she has been dead for several years. Did that contract protect me?"
"Yes, this is the only possibility." Paracelsus shook his head, "But King of Knights, you may have made something wrong - the dead dragon cannot continue to maintain this contract. Since you have such terrible vitality, the dragon must not be dead."
"What did you say?" Alfred suddenly turned off the bed excitedly, "You said you weren't dead... But she had been lying for several years, and she didn't move at all?"
Paracelsus shook his head: "I don't know the matter of the dragon. I just speculate from the current situation that the dragon that has made a contract with you is still alive, that's all."
Ella thought: "So, Draguer's sister is also a dragon, and her body quickly became stinky after her death. But when I saw Meli last time, her body did not rot. In other words, Meli is actually alive, but she was unable to wake up for some reasons?"
