Chapter 193: Rekindled the war

The annual FIFA awards ended with the attention of fans around the world. Messi's winning of the Ballon d'Or sparked worldwide discussion. This is evidence of the influence of football.

Fans quickly turned their attention to domestic leagues. The winter break has ended, and wars in major European leagues have resumed.

On January 5th, the eighteenth round of La Liga began.

Malaga went away to challenge Deportivo La Coruña this round.

Deportivo was once a veteran team in La Liga. In the 1999-2000 season, Deportivo broke the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona and won the La Liga championship in one fell swoop.

Deportivo, with Belleron as its soul and two top scorers in Tristan and Mackay, has played more stably and has ranked among Spain's top three for five consecutive seasons.

He also defeated Manchester United, Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, and Bayern Munich in European competitions home and away, and became famous for his skillful skills and gorgeous coordination style.

However, in the 2003-2004 season, Europe's top scorer Ma Kai left the Bundesliga Bayern Munich for 18.75 million euros, causing coach Iruetaton to lose his stock.

Entering the 2004-2005 season, stinginess has become the theme of Deportivo La Coruna this summer. How can fans and players have hope for Deportivo La Coruna without the introduction of players?

Not only were there no strong reinforcements to join the team, Naibert and others left for the Premier League. In the end, Deportivo only finished ninth in the league, and coach Irueta also sadly left the team.

In the transfer market in the summer of 2005, Depor continued the theme of "selling" stars. Luke and Pantiani both left the team one after another, and the "Super Depor" era came to an end.

From 1992 to 2004, during the 12 years of the "Super Deportivo" era, the team won 1 La Liga championship, 4 La Liga runner-up places, and 3 La Liga third place finishes!

It has participated in the UEFA Champions League for five consecutive years and achieved outstanding results. In 2004, it ranked fifth among European clubs in the UEFA points ranking.

Super Depor is admired by a large number of fans for his gorgeous playing style, and is full of passion for frequently creating miracles:

In the second year after being promoted to La Liga, they finished second.

In 2002, he defeated Real Madrid and won the King's Cup at Real Madrid's centenary celebrations.

After falling behind Paris Saint-Germain 0-3 in the Champions League, they scored 4 goals in the second half to come back.

In the 2002-2003 season, despite being 11 points behind the leaders of La Liga, they won consecutive victories and climbed to the top of the list in the 33rd round.

After losing 1-4 to AC Milan in the first round of the Champions League, they reversed 4-0 in the second round. "Super Depor" always surprises the world and makes fans unforgettable.

However, after football entered the golden era, Deportivo began to fall. This season's situation was extremely bad. After seventeen rounds, it was at the bottom of the points.

Faced with such an opponent, Malaga's morale was high, thinking that he could easily defeat his opponent.

However, the process of the competition is far from easy as people imagined.

At 8pm on January 5th, the match between Malaga and Deportivo started at the Riazor Stadium.

Pellegrini sent out a substitute lineup because Malaga will directly compete with Barcelona in the next round to compete for the top spot in the standings.

Malaga has not always been a team with a deep foundation, and its bench depth is not as good as that of giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

After the game started, Deportivo launched a fierce attack on Malaga amid the cheers of the home fans.

Although the season is not yet halfway through, Deportivo has already entered the relegation battle.

Facing Deportivo's aggressive attack, Malaga was in danger.

As time went by, Malaga gradually regained its disadvantage on the field, and the sideline entered a stalemate stage.

Both sides missed several good scoring opportunities in the first half, and could only regretfully end with a score of 0-0.

Things changed suddenly at the start of the second half. In the second minute, Deportivo's midfielder Picchi fired a powerful long-range shot from outside the Málaga penalty area.

Football goes right through the door of Málaga!

One to zero!

The Riazor Stadium burst into cheers.

Malaga will fight back immediately!

Deportivo was well prepared and blocked Malaga's fierce attacks time and time again.

I don’t know if it was because the winter break had just ended, but the Malaga attack group had not yet fully recovered, and they missed opportunities again and again.

In this case, Pellegrini began to mobilize his troops, and Isco and Joaquin came on stage one after another.

After they came on the field, Malaga attacked more fiercely, but still could not score a goal.

It was not until the 35th minute of the second half that Pellegrini seemed to finally make up his mind and let Li Chuanqi warm up.

When Deportivo fans saw Li Chuanqi warming up in the warm-up area, the smiles on their faces disappeared.

In the 40th minute of the second half, when Li Chuanqi replaced Fernandez, the Riazor Stadium was silent, as if it had lost its color and life.

The Malaga players on the field were cheered.

In the second minute after coming on the field, Li Chuanqi created a good opportunity to score. He took the ball from the left and threw away the defense, cut in to the middle, and shot a powerful shot from outside the penalty area!

The football goes straight to the upper left corner of the goal!

Deportivo fans feel like they are dying.

"Pong!..."

There was a loud noise and the football hit the crossbar and flew out of the field.

This sound brought Deportivo fans to life, and they let out huge cheers.

The fourth official came to the sidelines and held up the electronic display - four minutes of added time.

Deportivo fans prayed in their hearts, hoping that their team could persist in the last four minutes and win Malaga.

In the first minute of stoppage time, Joaquin made a pass from the right. The football drew a wonderful arc in the air, flew over the penalty area, and landed towards the back post!

Li Chuanqi appeared on the side of the football like a bolt of lightning and pressed his forehead hard against the football!

The football immediately changed direction, accelerated suddenly, and blasted towards the left side of the goal!

Deportivo's goalkeeper failed to make the save and could only watch the football flying into the net!

The ball went in!

One to one!

Li Chuanqi helped Malaga equalize the score with a header.

Shouts of pain echoed across the Riazor Stadium.

Li Chuanqi did not go to celebrate with his teammates. He picked up the football from the net and ran to the center circle.

The game restarted, and Malaga's midfielder and frontcourt were like a group of devouring beasts, rushing towards the Deportivo half.

The atmosphere on the field was extremely tense.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Li Chuanqi relied on his strong foreboding to intercept the pass between two Deportivo defenders halfway.

After completing the steal, he passed the opponent's two central defenders and calmly pushed the ball in the penalty area!

The football passed through the goalkeeper's toes and into the net!

Killer!

Two to one!

Malaga completed the reversal in the last minute of stoppage time.

There was silence at the Riazor Stadium, and there was only pain in the eyes of the Deportivo fans.

After the game restarted, the referee blew the whistle to end the game.

Malaga relied on Li Chuanqi's superb performance in stoppage time to score two goals in a row, successfully reverse the game and take away three points!
