Chapter 3 Inspiration

After Karasuma Renye left, the housekeeper was surrounded by several groups of people, asking for information about the deceased housekeeper's wife and the Twilight Hall.

Seeing that they could only get the same information as others, after a brief discussion, the three of them immediately decided to initially explore the Twilight Pavilion and wait until the housekeeper was free the next day to ask for information.

For the rest of the day, Qianjian, Smith and Yuanhuaiyu walked around the Dusk House, which can be called a castle.

Except for those areas where outsiders are prohibited from entering and exiting, every corridor and every room in the Dusk Pavilion has left their footprints.

During this process, they met other scholars several times. Although there were no verbal exchanges between the people in the competitive position, through observation, the trio determined that none of their peers had made any breakthroughs.

Early the next morning, the three of them had a hurried lunch and found the butler here together.

"This annex was built more than a hundred years ago, even before our father was born. At that time, the surrounding area was still an uninhabited land."

The housekeeper, who was about forty years old, already knew the purpose of the three people's visit when they came to the door. Before Qianjian and Smith could speak, he took the initiative to talk about the history of the Twilight Pavilion.

"The decision to build this annex was made by the old lady who had passed away many years ago, and she also gave the name."

"More than a hundred years have passed, and none of the written materials from the construction period have been preserved. I only heard some oral stories about that period from the previous housekeeper."

The butler fell into memories.

"I heard that the construction of the Twilight Hall consumed a huge amount of manpower and financial resources. It took a long time for the Karasuma family to recover."

"The old lady said that she would leave a huge fortune to her child, the current head of the family, and hide it in the House of Dusk."

"Under the instructions of the old lady, when the entire Dusk Pavilion was built, the surrounding area was cleared by the Karasuma family's men."

"Since the old lady passed away, the head of the family has searched countless times, and even checked every room to see if there are any tunnels or secret doors, but nothing has been found. Including us servants, we all feel that the old lady

There is no treasure left at all, otherwise it should have been found long ago."

The housekeeper sighed.

"Sigh... In the past hundred years or so, the annex has been repaired many times, and several batches of furniture have been replaced. However, the general layout and decoration still retain the original style, just because of this treasure."

Qianjian and Smith looked at each other.

"That's about all I know. Is there anything else you want to ask?" The butler picked up the tea and took a sip.

"Didn't the old lady leave any information about the treasure?" Smith rubbed his forehead, feeling that it was impossible to solve the mystery of the treasure with such limited information.

The housekeeper also smiled bitterly and said: "If there was any, I would definitely tell it. The old lady didn't leave any clues at all."

There was a brief silence in the room.

Seeing this, Yuan Huaiyu shook his head slightly and decided to reveal some useful information.

He cleared his throat and asked pretending to be curious: "Mr. Butler, if a huge amount of manpower was invested in this Twilight Pavilion as you said, would there be any of the people who participated in the construction of the Twilight Pavilion?

, is there anyone who might know about the treasure?”

"It's just that it's been so long, that group of people must have died now, unless they can live forever. But will they tell their descendants the secrets they know? If the descendants of those builders are found, say

Maybe you can ask something from them?"

Qianjian and Smith's eyes lit up and they almost clapped their hands.

If you can't find the answer yourself, you go to someone who might know the answer. Mr. Qingshan's thinking is quite flexible!

But the housekeeper shook his head: "The method you mentioned was actually thought of by us more than ten years ago, but it won't work."

"Why? Could it be that even with the power of the Karasuma family, we can't find the descendants of those people? There should be quite a few of them, right?" Qianjian frowned.

"Yes, we found many descendants of the people who built the Twilight Pavilion more than a hundred years ago, but we still couldn't get any useful information from them."

The housekeeper paused for a long time, and when the atmosphere in the room was so solemn that one could hear the drop of a needle, he said word by word: "Because those people have never gone back since they participated in the construction of this Twilight Pavilion.

"

Qianjian and Smith took a deep breath, and felt their backs were wet with cold sweat in an instant, and their faces turned pale.

"Sigh... If you hadn't asked here, I definitely wouldn't have told you this kind of thing. Even though it's been so long, I still think it's appalling when I think about it now." The housekeeper shook his head gently.

"Among the people of the Karasuma family who knew about this, some thought that they had all been killed, and some said that they were imprisoned by the Karasuma family until they died of old age. But no matter which way it is, it is considered irrelevant in today's society.

It's a huge scandal. I also ask the three of you not to spread it."

Until they left the room, Qianjian and Smith were still in disbelief.

"Oh my God! Why did the Karasuma family do this? They left everyone here forever!" Smith felt a little uncomfortable when he thought that this Twilight Mansion was probably a haunted house.

Qianjian ignored him, frowning and thinking alone. Suddenly, he seemed to have an idea: "The Karasuma family has absolutely no reason to keep everyone involved in this project, unless... it is to keep it secret."

So what secrets are there in the House of Dusk that cannot be revealed?

"Treasure!" Qianjian and Smith looked at each other and answered in unison.

"If it is really because of the treasure, it means that everyone who participated in the construction may know the existence of the treasure. Otherwise, the old lady would not have needed to go to war so much." Yuan Huaiyu added.

"Yes! It's precisely because of this that the old lady sent people out to clear the site and drive away people who were close to the construction site." Smith slapped his forehead suddenly.

"So based on this information, this treasure is likely to be large-scale or very conspicuous!" Qianjian also felt excited.

The two of them felt as if they had caught some inspiration and were just a little bit closer to breaking through the fog.

Yuanhuaiyu spread his hands: "So what is it? That conspicuous treasure that everyone can see?"

"..." Qianjian and Smith were speechless for a moment, and their excitement came to an abrupt end.

Even though they had deduced a general direction, they were still completely unable to give a reasonable answer. Everything went round and round and seemed to be back to the starting point.

Yuan Huaiyu chuckled in his heart. Under the general framework of "the treasure is in the Dusk Pavilion", it was reasonable for the two people not to react so quickly.

The treasure that the Karasuma family is searching for but cannot find is the Twilight House itself!
