Standing on the outskirts of the city was a man wearing a gold-threaded cassock. He was as strong as King Kong who protects the mountain, with skin as dark as iron. His facial features were hard and cold, his face was stern, and he was unsmiling. He was Shen Fang, the abbot of Daci'en Temple.
Behind him, two Buddhist giants, Jiashang and Puguang, also stood facing the wind, their monks' robes fluttering and their treasures solemn.
Soon, a monk walked from a distance. His white monk clothes were as white as snow. He was not wearing a cassock. He was holding a Zen staff and looked very handsome.
The crowd suddenly burst into cheers. Shen Fang lowered his head and said, "My Buddha is merciful, and Buddhist disciples respectfully welcome Master Xuanzang back."
Xuanzang returned the greeting and said, "Thank you."
Every time he took a step, there was a lotus under his feet, and all the monks and believers looked at him with fascination and piety.
Xuanzang is back, he is not dead...
Master Puguang lowered his thick eyebrows and said: "Master's return is a blessing for Buddhism, but I have a bad news to tell you. Master, your beloved disciple has been misled by the devil and has abandoned Buddhism and joined the enemy."
Xuanzang said with a smile: "That is just a hurdle for him to witness his heart. One day, he will understand the mystery and return to the embrace of my Buddha."
"Good advice, Master."
Xuanzang walked into Chang'an. Countless people stopped to watch along the way. His face was as usual and he was always smiling.
The officers and soldiers responsible for guarding Chang'an also looked at the eminent monk in front of them with reverence.
Xuanzang's reputation in Chang'an was very high, no less than that of ordinary royal families, or even better.
This time when he entered the city, he did not go to the palace, nor did he receive an edict from the emperor. A group of people escorted him directly to Da Ci'en Temple.
In the Daci'en Temple, two rows of monks lined up to welcome Xuanzang.
He walked through the long verandah and came to a clean Zen courtyard, found a futon and sat down cross-legged.
Shen Fang couldn't wait to ask: "Zen Master, after you disappeared from Chang'an, Buddhists became panic-stricken. We don't know who did it."
Xuanzang smiled and said: "Golden Chanzi."
"It's indeed him!"
Everyone in the room exclaimed in exclamation, with deep fear.
"I have never heard that anyone under Jin Chanzi could escape. Zen Master is truly the light of Buddhism."
Although these great monks were also scheming in private, they surprisingly respected Xuanzang. Puguang asked: "Zen Master, the golden cicada has made a comeback. What should we and other monks do?"
Xuanzang looked around, leaned down slightly, and said softly: "If Buddhism is not unified, it will be defeated individually. Only by gathering all the eminent monks and taking the initiative to eradicate the demons can we overcome this disaster."
The three of them, Shen Fang, looked at each other, stood up and clasped their hands together, and Shen Fang said: "What the Zen Master said is absolutely correct. If you are not a Zen Master, you cannot integrate Buddhism."
Xuanzang nodded and said: "Chang'an is a place where all races gather and a land with the most spiritual energy. We will establish the 'Bodhi Pure Land' in Chang'an to seek the Buddha's way and transform the hearts of all living beings!"
"Bodhi Pure Land..."
Shen Fang, Pu Guang and Jia Shang bent down together and chanted: "I will obey the Zen Master's decree."
Xuanzang continued: "When I came here, I heard that there was a Zheng Jing Sect in Bianliang of the Song Dynasty, which planned the hierarchy of monks in the world, including even Buddhist disciples. How can we Buddhist disciples use the principles of Taoist rules? We must not be the same as them.
Rather, it is up to me, the Pure Land of Bodhi, to determine the level of Buddhism."
"Zen Master's advice."
"They have a Heroes' Association in Bianliang, so we will hold a 'Bodhi Meeting' in Chang'an."
As soon as Xuanzang appeared, Buddhism had a backbone, and almost all secular Buddhism would move closer to them.
Xuanzang's influence in Buddhism during the Six Dynasties was not comparable to that of Li Yu in Taoism, so his Bodhi Society was definitely simpler to start than the Heroes Society.
There are too many disciples of Buddhism, and there are tens of millions of believers. The courts of the Six Dynasties will probably give them face.
For a time, the Buddhist community in Chang'an, which was originally panic-stricken, suddenly united, and the eminent monks were no longer confused.
Xuanzang stood up and said: "The pure land of the Western Heaven has been polluted. I, the Buddha, are merciful, but the responsibility of saving the world has actually fallen on our shoulders."
"What does this mean?"
Xuanzang said: "Those in the Pure Land of the Western Heaven are no longer my Buddha. The Tathagata and Sakyamuni are in trouble, just like the dove occupying the magpie's nest. We, the Buddhists in the Middle Earth, must beware of not only the golden cicadas, but also the false ones in the Western Heaven."
Buddha."
Jia Shang was horrified and took a step forward. He almost wanted to speak but was speechless.
All the Buddhas in the Western Heaven are fake, and they suddenly become enemies. To them, it is like the sky has collapsed.
Shen Fang forced himself to calm down and asked, "If this is the case, what can we do?"
Xuanzang flicked it and said sideways: "If the Buddha cannot be relied upon, you and I are both Buddhas."
---
Zhengjingmen, the breeze is blowing, and the lake is very cool.
Under a willow tree, Li Yu sat cross-legged, with water mist lingering on his body, yin and yang tai chi on his head, and his eyes twinkling.
In front of him, there was a crystal clear orb, exuding rich water spirit power. It was the 'purified water' that Li Yu was tempering for the golden lotus.
If there is such a one, inserted into her magic weapon "Lianyou", she can get twice the result with half the effort when practicing.
Beside Li Yu, Shi Qian told what happened in Chang'an. He was sent back to Bianliang and continued to be responsible for spying on Bianliang intelligence.
When he came, he was even summoned by Li Shimin. Li Shimin's words showed how much he valued him. If he hadn't met Li Yu, he would have worshiped him long ago and cried out for his kindness.
Of course, Shi Qian also knew that if he hadn't met Li Yu, he would never have had the opportunity to meet Li Shimin.
"Bodhi Pure Land?"
Li Yu frowned and said, "Are you sure Xuanzang is back?"
Shi Qian nodded and said: "This is absolutely true. On the day Xuanzang returned to Chang'an, the streets were packed with people. There was no falsehood."
Li Yu sighed. He was going to hold a heroes meeting, and a Bodhi meeting was going to be held opposite. Half of the monks were there in one go.
There are many Buddhist followers and it is easy to get started, more than twice as many as Taoist monks.
He had worked hard for so long just to help establish rules in the monk world. Xuanzang might have thought of him, or he might have been inspired by his own Heroes Association to expand his influence.
No matter what his purpose is, he has actually weakened the authority of the Heroes Association. If Buddhism does not come, is it still considered a rule in the monk world?
But no matter from any aspect, it was difficult for him to compete with Xuanzang, especially since he only extended his hand to Buddhism. It was obvious that he wanted to draw a clear line with himself and did not want to get entangled in competition.
Li Yu put away the "Pure Water" on his chest, stood up, and sighed.
"It seems that I'm going to meet Xuanzang for a while."
"Master, think twice!"
Shi Qian was so frightened that his master was not a popular figure among Buddhists in the Tang Dynasty.
Especially the monks from Da Zongchi Temple wanted to kill him to avenge Huicheng.
Li Yu moved his fingers, and a paper crane flew out from his fingertips and flew towards the Tang Dynasty.
"I'll make the next post first. With Master Xuanzang's reputation, I wonder if I would be willing to deign to come to Zheng Jingmen."
