Chapter 5. The Great Eastern Era

On the morning of January 6, 2005, three days after the final round of All-Star voting began, another piece of blockbuster news came from the league. The Miami Heat signed Alonzo Mourning and Karl Malone with minimum salaries.

And on the afternoon of January 6, the league once again had a major deal:

The Miami Heat sent Ricky Davis, Laettner, Doleak, Damon Jones and a 2005 first-round pick to acquire James Posey from the Memphis Grizzlies and Mike from the Golden State Warriors.

Dunleavy and Gary Payton of the Boston Celtics.

The Golden State Warriors sent Derek Fisher and Mike Dunleavy in exchange for Laettner, Doleak and Damon Jones, as well as the Heat's first-round draft pick next year.

The Celtics sent Gary Payton and got Derek Fisher.

Then in less than a day, the Warriors traded the expiring contracts of Creston and Dale Davis to the Hornets' Baron Davis.

These transactions were brought forward half a year due to the emergence of Milicic, and surprisingly, the combat effectiveness of several teams immediately improved. Of course, except for the Hornets, Baron Davis has been demanding

Trade, while the Hornets are waiting for lottery picks and training Jr. Smith. I believe that it will not be long before Wesley, Mashburn and others are kicked out.

After the trade, the Heat's lineup can be said to be luxurious:

The lineup became point guard Gary Payton, shooting guard Devin Wade, small forward James Posey, power forward Karl Malone, center Shaquille O'Neal, and Alonzo Mourning on the bench.

The strength of such figures as Udonis Haslem, Rasul Butler and others cannot be underestimated. After acquiring O'Neal, the Heat once again improved its strength to a higher level. There are four future Hall of Fame-level stars in the main lineup.

One of them is an all-around forward who is called the championship puzzle.

The five members of the Miami Heat, Shaquille O'Neal, Karl Malone, Alonzo Mourning, Gary Payton, and Devin Wade, are also called the Big5 by the media.

When being interviewed by the media about why O'Neal, Malone, and Payton would reunite in Miami, O'Neal gave a rather playful answer: "Because there is no such person here."

Alonzo Mourning's statement is more pertinent. He said: "We are no longer young. I just want to make myself have no regrets before retiring."

Mourning, Malone, Payton, Wade and others are working hard to win the first championship in their careers, especially the three veterans who are willing to join with a minimum salary.

O'Neal is working hard for his fourth championship. His only goal now is to surpass Kobe Bryant in championship rings.

Although the current Miami Heat does not have White Chocolate Williams and Anthony Walker, the arrival of Malone seems to be able to make up for it. After watching Karl Malone's training, the team's head coach Van Gundy said: "I dare say that in this

Ninety percent of the young players in the league don't have the energy that Karl has. He looks like a kid who just entered training camp after being drafted."

But it is a pity that Van Gundy has no chance to coach this young man. He is third in the Eastern Conference in the regular season, and this is when the Pacers are abolished. If the Pacers are not abolished, I am afraid that the Miami Heat will be ranked fourth.

Position, judging from the current performance, it is just a playoff team. Pat Riley will not allow the team he spent huge sums of money to build to end up like this.

So when these veterans gathered in Miami, Van Gundy lacked too much from the perspective of record and the ability to intimidate these future Hall of Fame players. Moreover, his tactics were too simple.

It is to use the containment of O'Neal inside to allow the outside to shoot three-pointers. However, three-pointers are absolutely dependent on the sky. When Van Gundy was in the Magic, when he played well, he could kill James and enter the finals.

When times are good, you can go home and fish early. It can be seen from the fact that Pat Riley purged Damon Jones from the team. The core of his team building is the same as the Lakers in the original showtime and the Knicks with Ewing as the core.

It's the same as the Miami Heat with Mourning as the core. He will make full use of the energy of the giant inside instead of using him to contain the inside and waste shooting opportunities for the sharpshooters on the outside.

Van Gundy was dismissed under this background. In fact, on the one hand, it was due to his ability, and on the other hand, Pat Riley couldn't help himself when he saw such a lineup. It's like who sees the better lineup in a game.

Everyone wants to go up and control it.

If the Miami Heat were the league's top team after acquiring Shaquille O'Neal, then now with the addition of several powerful veterans and the coaching of a championship coach, they have surpassed the Spurs and Pistons to become the champions this season.

The biggest hit.

The Celtics acquired Derek Fisher through a trade. In fact, it can be seen through the Lakers' game last season. Fisher's role on the court is greater than that of Payton. Fisher is

A good team player. And a player like Payton is destined to become an arrow figure. Even when he gets old, he still wants to burst out his energy at a certain period of a certain game.

Fisher doesn't stick to the ball, his three-pointers at critical moments are comparable to Billups, and he has good strength and good defensive awareness, and Rivers also refers to some of the Lakers' triangles in using Milicic.

Tactics, as one of the players who best understands triangle tactics, Fisher's arrival will also improve Milicic's ability to a certain extent.

This is a deal that benefits all parties. The Heat and Celtics have strengthened themselves, while the Warriors sent Dunleavy and formed the prototype of their own black eight lineup in advance. The Hornets have expired contracts and are waiting for the future.

There was an outbreak in the draft, and several teams got the improvement they wanted.

Milicic called Fisher as soon as he came to Boston. Now as one of the leaders of the team, he has to make a statement. He is no longer the fledgling young man. Now he wants to

Led the Celtics in the East to create a threat to the Heat, Pistons, and Pacers.

According to history, this period should be the Wild West, but now it has become the Wild East. If history does not change, Webber will travel east to the 76ers, and the Eastern League will usher in its own great era. Please search Piaotian Literature
