254. Wealth at the foot of the volcano

The night in the mountains was a bit cold. Suldak climbed out of the tent, took out a blanket and put it on Val, who was responsible for keeping watch.

He went to look at the Gubo horses again. When the horses saw him approaching, they lowered their heads affectionately and licked his palms, thinking he was bringing food.

The moonlight was like snow, and a gray rock iguana heard the noise and quickly burrowed into the rock crevice.

At night when there are no sand wolves, Paglos Mountain is particularly quiet.

In the morning, Charlie got out of the tent and saw Suldak standing on a piece of limestone, practicing swinging his sword in the rising sun.

He held the shield in one hand, lunged every time, raised the shield, and then thrust out the Roman sword in his hand. He could clearly see the white blade of the sword, and saw that Surdak's movements were extremely standard.

Charlie couldn't help but stand with Suldak and practiced basic sword skills. However, after holding on for more than a hundred times, he felt that his arms were so sore that he couldn't lift them up, so he jumped off the rock.

Then Charlie picked up the alloy bow and practiced bow skills against the rock wall. The fine steel arrows could easily penetrate into the rocks. When Charlie pulled the arrows out of the rock wall, only some mess was left on the rock wall.

The arrow hole comes.

While the village's lizard-hunting group had traveled nearly seven days to reach Pudu Mountain, Suldak's team arrived at the foot of Pudu Mountain in only two and a half days on horseback.

The horses stepped on the soft volcanic ash, and their hoofs would sink deeply into it every step they took, making it very difficult to walk.

Moreover, the volcanic ash in the air falls like snowflakes, and there is always a burning smell. Whether it is a person or a horse, a linen scarf is covered over the mouth and nose. This linen is very breathable, and

It also has a very good sweat-absorbing effect. Towards the end of the journey, Suldak and several others led their horses for the last part of the way.

When we arrived at the place where we hunted salamanders, all traces here were covered by new volcanic ash. This was at the foot of Pussy Mountain. Some magma channels ended here, and some were piled up in layers like wax oil on a candlestick.

Together, some magma channels can still appear dark red. Obviously there is still hot magma flowing inside, and there is thick smoke everywhere.

The place where the salamander was originally found was on the edge of a river that looked like flowing lava, but this river had long since solidified into cold rock.

There were some messy rocks inside, like sharp bamboo shoots emerging from the soil in early spring. The volcanic ash here became a little warm, and the war horses already felt a little uncomfortable. They began to become restless and kept kicking.

Stepping on the horses' hooves, Suldak could only have the horses' hooves wrapped in felt. Sure enough, after doing this, the horses became quiet.

Surdak left Val behind to look at the six horses, and led the rest of the people into the rocky area cautiously. There was no vegetation here, it seemed like a dead land, and it was hot everywhere.

Everyone was worried that they would encounter salamanders and did not dare to disperse, so they could only narrow down the search area.

According to the leader of the caravan, salamanders like to eat sulfur and usually appear in places containing sulfur ores, so Suldak entered this rocky area to explore the whereabouts of salamanders and the yellow ores.

Walking closer, I heard Luke whisper: "There is really sulfur here...".

After hearing this, Suldak quickly took a few steps forward, stood next to Luke, and looked into the rocky area inside. Sure enough, he saw some light yellow stones accompanying the magma rocks. Although the number was not large, some were still covered by the magma.

The rocks are wrapped together, but there is actually a huge area around the entire rocky beach.

"Here, there's a lot of sulfur ore, I'm afraid we're really going to get rich this time!" Charlie followed Suldak into the rocky area where light yellow sulfur deposits were shining everywhere, and he immediately felt dazzled.

Feeling that he ran to a stalagmite with a corner of light yellow ore exposed, he wanted to break off the sulfur ore with his hands, but found that the hardness of these ores was much harder than limestone. He was so tired that he was panting and could not break off the sulfur ore.

Ore pried from stalagmites.

Then Charlie leaned against the warm stalagmite, wiped the oily sweat from his face, and asked Suldak somewhat unconfidently: "Do you think we can take away all these sulfur mines?"

Luke on the side said to Charlie unceremoniously: "When you are dreaming, can you stop talking nonsense? What are you thinking about? If we are alone, the sulfur here may not be dug out even if it takes half a year...

"

Indeed, as Luke said, there are countless sulfur mines exposed on the surface of this rocky area. The rocky area here is distributed in a river formed by the flow of lava after a volcanic eruption.

Now Pudu Mountain is calm, so this river of lava has cooled down, and the entire river is covered by volcanic rocks. Only some gravel is mixed with the cooled volcanic rocks in this river, forming countless stalagmites in the rocky area.

The landform, and these large pieces of gravel washed down by the lava river are dotted with a large amount of highly pure sulfur ore. The salamander is entrenched at the foot of Pudu Mountain just to eat this sulfur.

Unfortunately, this salamander's luck was not very good. It met the Wall Village Lizard Hunting Group, and was finally hunted and killed by Suldak and five young people from Wall Village.

Surdak looked at this sulfur area, thinking about how to fully develop this sulfur mine. It is still a deserted land. Once someone discovers that the cooled lava river here contains rich

sulfur mines, it is estimated that there will be competition for this mountain land by then.

The top priority now is, of course, to mine these sulfur mines back as much as possible.

Charlie stood next to Luke, looked at several stalagmites in succession, peeled off the layer of volcanic ash covering the stalagmites, and saw the light yellow sulfur mine inside, and said: "Of course it's not just us, there are also people in the village.

? Everyone together..."

Surdak jumped on a tall boulder and looked around, trying to find out the general scope of this rocky area. He found that this area was much larger than he thought. The entire river of lava stretched upward.

Extending to the top of Pudu Mountain, there is no river to go down, but it is a two-square-kilometer area of rubble gathered at the foot of the mountain. However, this area is covered with volcanic ash, and it is so gray that one does not know what is going on.

How many stalagmites contain sulfur.

"It seems a bit difficult to knock off this yellow stone!" A young man who followed from behind tried to use a crowbar to pry off the sulfur mine. Unfortunately, he couldn't find the method after knocking for a long time.

Pry the ore off.

Luke walked up to him and said to his companions: "We should find some that are mostly exposed."

The environment in Pudu Mountain is very harsh. Even the air seems to be burning with flames. There is a lot of volcanic ash floating in the air. The tent cannot be set up directly on the ground, because after one night of sleep, the whole person will turn into an omelette and be

The geothermal heat has cooked it. Ordinary people cannot survive here, which is probably why this mineral deposit has not been discovered yet.

Surdak asked five young men to find some easily mined sulfur ore in the rocky area, pry it off and put it into prepared bags. While he walked around the rocky area for most of the day, this area

Not all the rocky areas contain sulfur minerals. The rocky piles in the outer areas are just ordinary limestones. Only the stalagmites near the center of the Pudu Mountain lava river contain sulfur minerals. This narrow strip is no more than fifty meters wide.

But it continues to spread towards the top of the mountain...

The group only stayed at the foot of Pudu Mountain for one night, and then led six horses loaded with sulfur ore and left Pudu Mountain on foot.

It only took two and a half days to ride a horse when we arrived, but we had to lead the horse back on foot when we returned to Wall Village. The six of us walked from early morning to late night for almost five days before returning to Wall Village.
